We have been in and out of Bergen op Zoom for the better part of 8 years and remembered a time before the renovations of the hotel and the upgrade of the restaurant. We have been excited to make our way back south to try and had the opportunity for this trip.
The staff has always been fantastic, but there appears to be a bit more pep in their step from the shared pride in the new environment. We did the seafood tasting menu with recommended wine pairings and were pleasantly surprised at how tasty and well done every course and side was. It was more traditional than some of the gastronomy courses we have seen on their Instagram, but it was midweek and the clientele most likely come for something more classic.
This would be a fantastic restaurant in Amsterdam, Antwerp, or Rotterdam, but for BOZ it is breathtaking. On top of that, the value for the quality and attention to detail are second to none in the area.
