The in - town location as well as the decor gave it a wonderfully quaint feel. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable (in a European context). It was rather busy in this diminutive establishment when we visited but we were able to find a spot for the three of us. Our server attended to us quickly and did a great job taking care of us. She checked up on us at adequate intervals without being intrusive. The menu offered many tempting options from which to choose. My colleagues went for the Specialty Bakery Salad and the Pasta Carbonara. But I am a breakfast fiend and I had not had eggs for breakfast that day. As such, I opted for the Salmon Omelet with brie, mushrooms and onions. There were large strips of brie embedded, which seemed quite unusual. It was terrific and I would recommend it if you try this place. Our meals were capped with excellent coffee. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my experience in this delightful little shop. If you are in central Bergen op Zoom, it is definitely worth a try.

Remarkably, no dressings are added except you want some vinaigrette. Very down to the quality of the products and a very intense experience. We were there for a late lunchtime and were impressed by the size of the portions. Nice staff and cozy deco - you can see that people are committed to their business. Thumbs up!

It's pretty much brand-new and talking with the owner Hans, who was running the bar, it is part of a theatre troupe and cultural awareness initiative that once upon a time was subsidized by the Govt but now must make it's own ends meet. Decor was great, brand new unlike many of the places in the square. Good biers on tap, and the salmon tartar I had was really delicious. In 1838 werd het pand een horecagelegenheid. Eerst 'Koffyhuis Belle Vue', jaren later werd dit omgedoopt in 'café Bellevue'. Op 18 januari zijn Harry en Stientje Raats in dit pand een nieuw café gestart onder de naam café-restaurant 'de Raatskelder'. In 1981 werd de zaak als eetcafé door Frans en Leny Raats voortgezet en uitgebreid tot wat het nu is: een gezellig café waar u een hapje kunt eten, een drankje kunt doen en zelfs een feest kunt geven in de zaal boven het café. Sinds 18 januari 2011 is eetcafé de Raatskelder overgenomen door Dennis Raats. Zaal 'de Feestbrouwerij' Onze feestzaal boven het café is geheel in thema ingericht. De 'feestbrouwerij' heeft een unieke, gezellige en warme sfeer, waardoor de ruimte geschikt is voor alle soorten bijeenkomsten.
