If you're looking for Caribbean food absolutely packed with flavor, Mo's Restaurant is a MUST try. If you haven't had Caribbean food - now's the time to try it!! We're from out of town and came specifically for the French onion soup, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Rich, comforting, and perfectly done. We also ordered the creole shrimp with rice and vegetables, which was incredible. The rice reminded me of jollof rice and beans - so flavorful and cooked perfectly. My brother had the spicy creole shrimp pasta and said it was one of the best dishes he's ever eaten. The owner/chef was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and even treated us to pie on the house which was outstanding. Portions are generous (great leftovers the next day!). This is truly a hidden gem and highly recommended to anyone visiting or craving bold, authentic Caribbean flavors.

Really good restaurant, small space but it feels very homey! The food portions are big so you definitely have leftovers for the next day and the food tasted AMAZINGGGG oddly enough it tasted like my mom's food lol. The service was wonderful the owner I'm assuming is very sweet and funny anddddd gave us free dessert at the end of our meal which I didn't get a picture of because we ate it

I was really interested in trying Haitian food so we made Mo's our first stop when we landed in Key West. When we arrived around 7pm, it wasn't busy at all - it was just us and the chef. I ordered the oxtails with dirty rice and the chef got to work. The stove was next to the bar and restaurant was filled with absolutely mouthwatering aromas while he cooked our meals. The oxtails were amazing - slightly falling off the bone tender but with a bit of gelatinous chew covered with a slightly buttery and spicy roux - very reminiscent of New Orleans style cooking. The dirty rice was very tasty too and the portions were very generous. This is defiantly a bit different than the tourist restaurants on Duval - but is probably a lot better if you like that sort of thing! Highly recommended!

This is a family own restaurant they're very generous and lovely! They served us a soup to celebrate new year. I love goat and this place makes it amazing. It was a huge portion and definitely enough for two people. They also give us pie which I didn't get a chance to take a picture of but the key like was very tasty! The customer service surpassed my expectations I definitely recommend this place!

This is a little gem in Key West. The people were friendly and they so would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of kid menu or choices for kids to eat. My cousin had order the food photo below. I ordered the chicken and potatoes and it was the most fall off the bone chicken so good full of flavor.

Decided to get off the main path and visit Mo's for some good grub! Had ordered the crab cakes and shrimp creole with rice and vegetables. Crab cakes didn't really hit the mark for me. Not sure I really tasted crab and it's a bit flat sitting on a bed of lettuce. The shrimp creole was absolutely fantastic though! Full of flavor with some heat and would recommend this to everyone if you're willing to venture off from the main strip.

Super excited to eat Haitian food now when I am in Key West. I wasn't a big fan of their Rice though. The plantain, pikliz, and.pork was delicious!! They have a small eating area inside if you want to stay and eat in it. It was just us at the restaurant and they had Haitian music playing. They had wonderful customer service. Our food was cooked fairly quickly and staff was very nice. I noticed most people actually got their orders to go. Next time that's what we might end up doing. It's so close to the beach. It would be cool to go eat it on the beach. They do not have a parking lot but we were able to find one our parking in front of the restaurant. We went during a weekday during lunchtime, so there wasn't very many other cars. It may be hard to find parking if it is a busy weekend.

I have wanted to visit Mo's for the longest. They serve Haitian and Creole cuisine. I have never tried Haitian food, so I was very curious. Since they recently partnered up with Door Dash, I decided to order some delivery. Everything on the menu seems amazing. I ended choosing the Chicken Casserole and the French onion soup. Both items were delicious! The casserole was creamy and hearty. The soup was comforting. I would definitely order it again. Overall, 4 stars.

Key lime pie (with free piece of pumpkin pie they gave us)

This place is GREAT. My favorite meal of my trip to Key West. We had the Creole shrimp with rice and mixed vegetables, and the snapper with rice and vegetables. They were both fantastic. Good sized portions of food. Friendly service, not a fancy place (which to me is a plus) but clean and welcoming. The key lime pie was really good too. Definitely worth getting off of Duval Street to check this place out!

Caribbean chicken w/ white rice and black beans
Ray L.

Very pleased. Got the Caribbean chicken with white rice and black beans. The sauce on chicken was good but those black beans... were the best I've had. I'm not big on beans but these were so flavorful! I was putting just the sauce on my rice and even dipping my chicken in it, was so good. However, my one disappointment was the texture of the chicken. The first few bites were good, but then it got a little mushy. Nothing crazy, and still very edible, but definitely a little over cooked. The oxtails were great! I'm used to Jamaican oxtails and these have a different flavor I've never had. You could taste the vegetables in the broth, very good! They treated us with the key lime and sweet potato pie. We were soooo stuffed by then but had to indulge. And didn't regret it as we wobbled out the restaurant. Definitely recommend!

Fried plantain and garlic bread

Holy cow. Honestly, some of the best food we've ever had. We've eaten all over the world and this place is in our top three hands down. The food has so much flavor and soul. You can taste the effort that goes into it. I'd take this place over an overpriced fancy restaurant every day of the week. We recommend getting the fried plantains, oxtail and fried pork plates. Pro tip get the garlic bread to soak up all the delicious sauces

I'm on deployment in Key West, FL. I was talking to the shuttle driver for my hotel. I stated to him that there are many Haitans that live in Key West, FL. I was interested in trying authentic Haitian food. My driver said he had the best Haitian restaurant called Mo's. My co-worker and I decided to go try Mo's. We ordered the fried pork, which is called Griot. We had rise & peas with fried plaintians. When the owner brought our food to the table. It was popping hot and the best food I had since deploying to Key West, FL. The owner son customer service was quality service. As we waited for the preparation of our food. I felt like I was sitting in a Haitian home. The ambiance was very comfortable, and the attentiveness of the owner and his son were awesome. I already returned back to Mo's. I enjoyed the curry goat and oxtail. When you travel to Key West, FL, and you want a home cooked meal. Make your way to Mo's. I was very impressed. You will be too. To all my Yelpers, let's continue to eat our way through the world.

The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, so we anticipated a pretty quick experience. Unfortunately, a large group arrived shortly after we were seated, and with what appeared to be only one waitress covering the area, service was much slower than expected. Between placing our orders and waiting for drinks, we honestly came close to getting up and leaving. But WOW, am I glad we stayed! This ended up being one of my favorite meals of our entire Key West trip! The fish tacos were seasoned to perfection, my cocktail absolutely hit the spot, and everyone in our group loved their food. The atmosphere was wonderful, and despite the slow service, the hospitality was warm, friendly, and genuine. By the end of the meal, with full bellies and happy faces, the wait was a distant memory. Sometimes good things really are worth waiting for! We'd absolutely return!

The food is excellent--flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying--but what truly sets this place apart is the service, especially when you're seated at the bar. As a bar guest, I experienced something far above exceptional. It felt like walking into a place I already loved and being shown the very best of it by people who genuinely care. To the bartenders and staff who made every visit feel that way: Dairy-ah (I'm almost certainly butchering the spelling, but the pronunciation stuck with me), thank you for the warmth, the skill, and the way you made the bar feel welcoming every time. Lucy--always with the hat on backwards--you became my spirit animal the moment I realized how perfectly that energy matched the whole vibe of the place. Thank you for being exactly who you are behind that bar. Brittney, the chillest of them all: your calm, easy presence made everything feel lighter and better. Chelsea, I only got to have you serve me once, but that one time was enough to know how good you are at this. And to the Servers, Paul and Lola: even in our brief interactions while I was at the bar, both of you brought such strong, genuine personalities that it elevated the whole experience. Thank you for that. Blue Heaven is an amazing restaurant with great food and even greater service. But more than that, it's the people who make it feel like coming home and being shown the best time in a place you love the most. Thank you--truly--to all of you for making it feel that way. And to Henry, a longtime regular at the bar, who passed away during my visit. "His" presence was clearly part of the fabric of this place, and I'm grateful I got to share that space, however briefly, with the people who knew and cared for him. Thank You All, and sorry if I didn't list your name in this review because there were far more of you than I've mentioned, just Know my early mornings sitting at the Blue Heavens Bar, was the highlight of everyday I spent in Key West. The spinach salad was a nice contrast of "greens" to have as an appetizer. For mains, the Key Lime Pasta with (I think) local spiny lobster was great and the Filet Co. Chili Cheese Coney with small beef dogs on a little buns was also good. For dessert, we enjoyed the hot banana honey. The bistro is decorated with Star Wars paraphernalia on the shelves over the bar and you have to check out the bathroom, which was pretty awesome with Star Wars scene complete with flashing lights. The atmosphere is dimly lit and kinda cool and a bit like a speak easy. I'd give The Flaming Buoy a very strong 4 and highly recommend it as one of the Key's coolest better food oriented restaurants.
