Let me start with the dishonest business practices of the Mortgage Center. My mortgage originated with Zeal CU and was then transferred to the Mortgage Center. The management of my escrow and payments from the Mortgage center started failing making tax payments (2024). This followed by threatening letters of seizure of my Home. After bringing it to the attention of a "competent person" I was informed the Mortgage Center fouled up and would pay the missing bills along with late charges and penalties. So as I'm thinking everything is resolved the Mortgage Center sends me a new monthly charge (to take effect 2025) that added $330 dollars to my payment. OBVIOUSLY TO PAY THE CHARGES THE MORTGAGE CENTER CLAIMED RESPONIBILTY FOR. After multiple attempts I reached someone "competent person" with the Mortgage Center and was informed I was in fact being overcharged and she would correct it. Nothing changed!!! now its 2025 and the Mortgage Center continually sends me notice they did not receive my insurance providers info. So I continually send (via email) the info they requested. As did the Arlington Agency who is my underwriter for insurance. Finally letter from The Mortgage Center stated they want my agent to send them the policy (which they had already done due to the fact the escrow is responsible for payment. I contacted my agent who then informs me that my Home owners policy was not paid and had lapsed because of nonpayment from The Mortgage Centers control of my funds!!!! I paid the bill on the spot for the year because obviously The Mortgage Center is incompetent. All of the sudden my ACH payments are failing to take place, with late charges being accrued. My payments never failed before I contacted the BBB and The Michigan State attorney about the Mortgage Centers abuse of my funds!!! They now claim that because they did not pay (via escrow) my Home Owners policy and it lapsed, they were charging me for insurance they placed. It's really weird that I was informed of the new larger payment in 2024 and they did not pay Feb. 2025 my Home Owners policy. Impossible for them to know the future nonpayment (via the mortgage centers control of escrow) that they should charge me for what did not happen yet/ read more

Dishonest company. AVOID. This company caused unnecessary delays to closing, provided disclosures that were low by 25% (multiple thousands of dollars off) and did not correct them until the night before closing, and also removed multiple thousands of lender credits the night before closing that were provided in previous disclosures. It wish I could recommend Mortgage center. Our loan officer Mike Jaghnoun is fantastic. Response immediately and he is very knowledgeable. His customer service was amazing. Depending on how the rest of this process goes I might change my rating. The reason I wouldn't recommend is Katelyn Sitarski. She is very unprofessional and doesn't response to her emails. After emailing her many times about submitting the documents to underwriting I finally got a response back saying she would be submitting it Friday (she had all the documents for a week at this point). 4 days later and she still didn't submit the documents to underwriting. Since it's a Holiday weekend it will be even longer until we get our close date. Very disappointed. Mike Jaghnoun should maybe train Katelyn is customer service and time management. BEWAWARE!!! MORTGAGE FRAUD SERVICES HELD HERE. I've been battling with MORTGAGE Center for months because either one their Loan Originators alone or with help added fees and a Balloon payment to a Straight 30 year fixed mortgage!!! I'm a financial planner, putting a Balloon on a 30 year fixed only an idiot would do or the loan officer wanting to get an extra. 25% on the back end payout. (She stole about $1,000). But, I have all the original documents and they send 1 forged page of paperwork as their proof, lol. Sad to say, it doesn't have both borrowers name's on it and on the same day I was in the University of Michigan hospital being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic malignant melanoma so it's obviously fake. Be careful ! Don't be fooled. BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS : I originally signed up with Mortgage Center with a different loan officer. Gigi was great. Very attentive and responded to all my questions quickly. Despite all the bad reviews about their terrible customer service and not being responsive, I still signed on with them for my refinance since Gigi was so great. Conveniently and suspiciously, as soon as I signed all the paperwork to start processing my loan, I got an automatic response via email that Gigi was no longer with the company. No one from the company contacted me inform me of this change or who my new loan officer would be until AFTER I called and emailed voicing my concerns. From there on, it's been like pulling teeth trying to get any information on my application. EXTREME DELAYS / POOR COMMUNICATION: I started the process on September 3rd. It is now December and I have NO IDEA on when my application will be approved. The only communication I do get is them asking for the same documents THREE times now, which I have promptly provided it to them over and over again. This is beyond frustrating! I have called, I have left messages, I have sent several emails. POOR EXCUSES: Their poor excuse of " due to high demands...." is unacceptable. If the company can not meet the demands, perhaps they shouldn't take on more than they can handle. How is this fair? They expect you to pay them upfront and then leave you hanging. I won't name my current loan officer or underwriter as I am not sure of what kind of pressure the company or managers are putting on them to meet quotas. It would be unfair to call them out if it is not their fault. The company has full control of how many applications each loan officer and underwriter has at one time. I have purchased and sold over multiple properties now, using various banks and credit unions from all over the country and I have never, ever experienced this type of frustration and lack of communication before. It is quite unbelievable. I am now in the process of possibly cancelling my application. I refuse to work with a company who treat their customers like this. I can't imagine the kind of service I would get if/when they actually own my mortgage loan. I'd rather cut my losses now. Unfortunately, you guessed it, they haven't responded to my inquiry about that either. If I could give 0 stars I would as well. Going thru a refi right now and a week after I gave approval on a percentage rate and costs they called me to tell me the numbers have changed. The original rep is suddenly on vacation and the unbelievably rude manager cant answer for where the numbers I was given came from. Very pushy to try to get me to close with another option thet makes my payment almost $100 higher than it was last week. When I pushed for an answer on why the numbers have changed, the manager accused me if wanting people to lose their jobs. No, I just want an explanation of where the numbers I was first told came from since you cant support them now. I am beyond angry and at the point of taking my busieness elsewhere. 4 months of refinance incompetence...Lack of communication!!! having to resubmit documents over and over again, for example being told they need last 30 days bank statement with each page stamped, signed and dated, then 5 days later needing another last 30 days bank statement stamped, signed and dated again.... Why? Then signing 2 separate pre closing disclosures and told 2 different closing dates only to be told that we'll need to bring more money to closing and now the refi needs to be reviewed once again by underwriting... needless to say we have chose to walk away... the amount of stress and tears this company has caused me is ridiculous and I strongly advise against doing business with them!!!! read more

Our condo refi remained "in process" for over 5 months, where we had to call/email for status updates, after our "locked in rate" was horrifically changed at the last minute, when all homeowners did not reside together at the address in refi. This data was shared at initiation; they actually wanted us to continue with higher rate! (Bait and switch). Horrible time table - your loan will NEVER reach closing. Do NOT even think about these inept folks at Mortgage Center touching your proprietary data - God knows where all of our data went, or who it will end up with. Rate jump and dollar figure of loan jumped up additional $3k to pay for "new" closing costs. RIP OFF! read more

We paid off our mortgage over 12 month ago and the company still has NOT closed our mortgage. We now are unable to sell because this company has not managed to close this issue and do their job!!! Not only have we been calling them daily for the last 14 days with the result of being told " we will look into this and reach out to you", but we also have NOT been reached out to ONCE. Mortgage Center does not care about its customers or their experience and 12 month is apparently not enough time to close out a mortgage for them either. Overall we are extremely pleased with our experience. Our Loan officer, Mike Jagnoun, called or emailed us several times a week with updates. If I emailed or called, even on a weekend he got back to me within an hour. The only thing we didn't like is that we didn't know what our exact payment would be until the day before closing. It was all estimates.We did get a very low interest rate. Preapproval took about 3 days to receive, Found a house and closed in 45 days. Which is typical timing right now with the Real Estate market being up. read more

Waited for a month of hassling them to give us an answer on a preapproval for us to find reviews that all screamed run! So we did, even though we had to talk to supervisor over our lender to even get anywhere.Not worth the wait and all the other reviews agree. Bad customer service. Reps do not return calls, if you do talk to a rep, they are condescending and rude. Always complaining about how they are in a call center environment. Okay, that is not my problem you do not like your work environment. You are owned by credit unions. Credit unions are supposed to help people. run!!!!! do not use this company for refinancing your mortgage. we have great credit, no issues just payoff old mortgage and finance a new mortgage. we were 6 1/2 months in and still no closing date or hope of getting one. all approved they kept saying. we provided payoffs, current paystubs at least 5 times! home insurance policy 2 times because it took so long the renewal policy was needed. very poor communication most of the time no response to calls or emails. we were put to the back of the line every time another request for something was sent. i could go on and on but it would do no good. we went to another credit union and we are closing in a little under 6 weeks not months. needless to say no way would i do business with mortgage center ever again. oh they would be rated no stars but you have to choose at least one to post. read more

Horrible company to deal with. Took 3 months to try to close on a refinance & equity loan! It was easier to get a first time mortgage. Too many people dealing with your file and no communication. Underwriter claims she's following FHA guidelines but it seems most of her decisions are based off her discretion. Was told wrong information in the beginning, which lead to 3 month of trying to figure out why my loan still wasn't closed. got all my info in a mater of a couple days. waited over a week with no response. left several messages for my agent to call me back with any info over then next 2 weeks, never called, text, or voice mail. finally i get fed up and just get a random agent on phone and I'm told that it will be 60-90 days before i can expect anything to happen. i have a roof that needs replaced, the main reason for this refinance loan, and something i told the agent when first applying. now i have wasted 3 weeks and will be starting the process over with a local bank or credit union in the hopes that if i can see a human in person then maybe they will give a S&^%, as it seems mortgage center does not. read more

If I could I would give the Mortgage Center 0 stars. I was assured that my only upfront expense would be for the appraisal. Instead I had to spend over $400 in addition to the appraisal fee. In addition I was told that I would have to fork over another $100 to meet an additional "condition".The loan processor was extremely condescending and did not explain why there were more and more "conditions". One instance I was given choice to meet one of two conditions and then when I met first condition the loan processor emailed me saying I also had to meet second condition that I was informed I would not have to meet if I met the other condition. Everytime I asked for explanation of why more and more conditions were added I was not given adequate explanation. I notice that most of good reviews are at least 8 months ago. I also notice that some of the recent reviewers had worse experience than I did. I have been a customer of Advia and before that E&A for over 30 years and my credit rating is better than 93% of U.S. My advice to potential customers of Advia Mortgage Center is read the reviews before you work with this mortgage center. read more

I would caution anyone about getting a mortgage loan with this company. I have had my mortgage with them for 4 years now. I have had nothing but problems with them from the beginning, and these are not small problems either. I have never missed a payment or even been late. They have twice changed my payments without notice, at one point they stopped applying my payments to my loan, and did not inform me. They have tried taking multiple payments in the same month from me when I authorized one payment. Today they told me that even though I am laid off (along with the rest of the world due to COVID-19) that there was nothing they could do to help me. All I wanted was to defer April's payment, and I was told no. I was told I could spread April's payment across the next three months. So when I do go back to work, I can be paying more, and get further behind in the months to come. My honest evaluation of Mortgage Center, is they are a tawdry paid day loan lender. They are no better than Check 'N Go or Checks into cash. They just have a nicer building. I have not refinanced away from this company because I have been lazy to this point. Today reminded me I need to quit being lazy, and stop doing business with this 2nd rate company that clearly does not care about the present position that their loan holders are in (COVID-19) and just want their money. read more
