Outstanding experience from start to finish. The entire team was extremely knowledgeable,…read moreresponsive, and made what can be a stressful process feel smooth and straightforward.

Back in September my landlord gave me notice to move out. After realizing that the rental market…read moreis a complete ripoff for a single person making less than $50,000 a year, I decided to try and buy something. Landlords have made it nearly impossible to find an affordable apartment in decent area. Some places charge more than $3 a foot for something about as big as my old apartment's living room. The first place I saw when I pulled up a search was Kuranda Financial Mortgage. I had heard the commercials over the years and driven by the office countless times. I figured I would give them a call. It was the smartest thing I've done in years. Justin Morrison picked up the phone. I could tell he had the kind of personality I could work with. Very professional and respectful. He was able to qualify me for a small condo without a problem in just a few minutes. He referred me to an excellent real estate agent who he works great in tandem with. What a winning team. Even though my credit was fine, I had an issue that he was able to tackle while still maintaining the best possible interest rate. In addition, although I carry no debt, the mortgage itself created a higher debt ratio than most lenders like to see. My own credit union wouldn't touch my loan. Let me now say that I used to be a loan officer years ago for a short time. Since the early 1990s I have heard loan officers and commercials boasting about closing a home loan in 3 weeks. Reality is that only the hardest working loan officers can accomplish this and many times it requires a bit of luck. So these promises of quick closings fall apart more often than not. I was recently listening to a The Jim Rome Show on Tune In Radio and a mortgage company claimed came on and said they could close a REFINANCE (much easier to close a refi faster than a home purchase) in 3 weeks. Well, in this day and age I would hope they could. By contrast, the only reason Justin didn't set up our closing in 3 weeks OR LESS is because we agreed with the seller to close in 30 days in the sales contract. Amazingly Justin was able to do everything over the phone or via email throughout the entire process. I still have not met him in person. I can tell you he is one of the most professional hard working people I have EVER had the pleasure of dealing with. When I'm spending my hard earned money, I refuse to deal with arrogance, not getting things done, and a lack of communication. Justin literally helped save me from the cold, harsh rental market. I now own something for the same cost as what I was paying at my apartment. That low rent no longer exists as the landlord basically gentrified me out of there by raising the rent from $910 a month for 875 square feet to $1600 or $1700. Good riddance!

Trident Mortgage was amazing. Honestly, they where the best part of buying our house. Everyone…read morecaused serious stress and didn't deliver except for Laura Corley and her team from Trident! If I had a question, she answered it immediately. If I was not at ease about something, they were there to explain everything in detail. This was not my first mortgage. I secured a mortgage in another home through BOA and it was a nightmare. The bank would ask for the same paper work over and over again. Plus the waiting period was extremely long and painful, I was left in the dark with BOA. Trident never did that. They were spot on. I highly recommend Laura Corley and her team. I am in sales so my expectations are high and Trident WOW'd myself and husband. Laura is a true gem in her profession and the same with her team member, Austin Kaut, Yarvi Cohen and Marcia Anderson. Trident is hands down the best!

Did two mortgages with them (initial purchase then a refi). The initial purchase was fine - nothing…read morenotable, rate was market. I put in for a refi with a few companies and my salesperson reached out to me proactively to sell me on their rates. Promised a low rate (which, after some reasearch, was par with market at best), then went completely MIA. His team had whoopsie after whoopsie including FORGETTING EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION until late on the Friday before we were set to close. They went completely dark for over a month - I reached out to find out what was what and got a snippy reply with "unprecedented demand" something something. No kidding dude, that's why EVERYONE is refinancing. Don't know why you reached out if you couldn't service it. Took a solid 4 months to close and have been completely MIA since. I'm fairly sure they forgot to renew their contract with their email provider, as everyone's email (including customer service) have been down sicne new years, and nobody is answering the phone. They got the mortgage done, but probably cost me about $4k relative to going with a more known provider.
