They are a bunch of thieves. Many items were stolen in our move. The customer service department was worthless and made no attempt to recover items that were taken. We had a terrible experience and between damage and theft they should not be in business read more

We hired Morse Moving to transport our daughter's items that we had stored for her while she was living abroad. The household items were to be delivered to Brooklyn, NY on Dec. 20th, but no later than Dec. 21st. We flew to NYC to accept delivery on Dec. 20th. No delivery and no communication from Morse. We continued to wait and attempt to get info on the delivery from Morse throughout the next week, being told several different stories as to why delivery was delayed and repeatedly given delivery dates that were not met. Finally late Friday evening, Dec. 27th, the load was delivered. In the interim we were forced to spend Christmas week in a motel with our daughter, her husband and their young twins. read more

Edit to add. A year post move. I did not unpack everything because I was renting for awhile until I found a home to purchase. Just found someone else's Samsung flat screen TV while looking for more items of mine that that are missing. As I mentioned in my original post, an urgent email was dispatched that someone's belongings had been dropped at the wrong location. I was never contacted to see if a large, expensive TV had, perhaps, been left at my home. Horrible, horrible company. I wouldn't trust them with my trash. read more

I had a terrible experience with Morse Moving and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. First, there was the terrible communication. I had to follow up with them several times to get answers on our quote. They never had me sign anything or officially confirmed my move. And then, the move day, they were supposed to call the day before to confirm the time... they never called. Just showed up at 8am with an unprofessional team of movers. My biggest issue with Morse is that they showed up on move day unmasked and when we politely asked them to wear masks they refused. We have moved two other times during the pandemic and moving teams have ALWAYS worn masks, no question. And this is when Covid rates are surging and rates in TC are 3x the country average. We have 2 little girls who are unvaccinated bc they are too young so we want to be very careful. I called Morse and asked to speak to a manager (I believe his name was Kevin) and he just said yeah, they don't have to wear masks, and we don't have any other movers - you should just take your kids outside (it was 30 degrees outside and a 5 hour move). Thanks Kevin. The moving team included one guy who was very rude, wouldn't even say hi and was sneezing and wiping his snotty nose on his shirt. And two younger women who, on the brighter side, were both very nice and professional. Likely related to this, both of my girls had fevers and colds a week after this move (we've been quarantined before and after the move bc we have high risk family members, so I don't think they got this from anywhere else). And finally, in terms of pricing, they weren't even any cheaper than the other movers I got quotes from. Learn from my mistake and go with a different moving company. read more

I contacted Morse Moving to carefully transport an antique China hutch and family heirloom from Northern Michigan to San Francisco because I had worked with the company previously. However, when the hutch arrived there was a significant chip in center and cabinet door lock was destroyed. I also found that @SIRVA was responsible for insuring our precious piece of family history. I have moved several times in my lifetime (in-state and cross country) and the one predictable information I can guarantee is that no matter how nice and beautiful your furniture is at the beginning of the journey, SIRVA will tell you that it is "pre-existing" damage and give you the worst adjuster (tina@bayarearestoration.com) to deal with. Bottom line; prepare to pay for more in repairs as the cost to move and insure. read more

This company lost or damaged $1049 worth of my property. When I filled out the form and provided proof of the damage they came back with a $50 offer but only after weeks of no contact. I spent almost $10K on this move and expected my items to be treated with respect. If that wasn't possible then they should pay to make it right. The offer is insulting. read more

LOL, I made the mistake of contacting Joy, the VP of Morse Moving & Storage, as she requested below and now understand that the comedy(?) of errors comprising our moves and storage experience weren't just an unfortunate series of unlucky events, but the product of a toxic work environment that begins at the top. I really don't know why I called or what I hoped would happen, but, as Joy answered the phone and spoke to me as though I was a telemarketer interrupting her Christmas dinner, I realized any hope of a successful remedy was a huge mistake. She was on another call and couldn't talk, which was absolutely understandable, but what she lacked in politeness and professionalism she made up for in tone of complete disgust. I'm not going to call back, thanks. The thing is, shame on me. We already pursued multiple layers of management in an attempt to find anyone to care that they ruined nearly every piece of furniture we owned through thick gouges, missing or crushed vital parts that rendered the piece useless, boxes crushed to half of their height., etc., but they wouldn't move past itemizing the damage until we paid well over a thousand dollars for the storage of our things. But their idea of storage was piling our unwrapped furniture in the middle of the warehouse floor and leaving it there. One of the movers who moved the ruined furniture into our new home had been shocked to discover this pile of seemingly abandoned junk belonged to anyone, much less a customer paying for safe storage. So it ended as a draw: no payment from us and half-hearted attempt from them to fix our ruined stuff. Seriously, steer clear of this company. read more

My wife and I moved to the Traverse City area from Detroit. This was our second time using a moving company. We were very pleased with the experience we had. TJ and his workers at both locations were both fast and efficient. Considering they had 2 locations for pick up down state, they got everything perfectly correct. If there was anything that could have improved it would be communication before scheduled pick up date. Confirm date and let us know number of workers to expect. Thanks for the great service. Wow Wow Wow It's all I can say about Steve and Kaleb. ( the team that delivered a heavy mattress up a flight of stairs with a low clearance). Had I been them I would have said, " Sorry this is not going to work" and left! But they kept working and finally found a way to get the mattress into the bedroom. Unbelievable! After all that, they were nice enough to take the old mattress up another flight of stairs with a low clearance to another bedroom. 5 Stars and more! They were so wonderful to work with. read more

They moved us in the midst or a torrential downpour that lasted all day (3-6 inches of rain). The absolute WORST moving company. I've used them a few times, and every single time something was broken. The last time, there was so much damage I finally filed a claim. They disputed it, never apologized, ruined things that cannot be replaced, and after all was said and done, said the insurance "deductible" would take $500 off their refund to me for damage. The moving men are polite enough, but after having them handle every single thing like a football, would never recommend them. They broke so many things, with such force, that it is obvious they took absolutely ZERO care in moving anything. I am talking broken furniture, dented appliances, broken glass, broken metal lawn furniture, you name it, they broke it. And I am not even mentioning the glassware. And when you complain, the women in their Traverse City office will ask if you packed it well enough! YES, I PACKED IT WELL ENOUGH! HORRIBLE SERVICE! HORRIBLE. My house was packed up by this company 8/9 Sept 2020 to be moved to Germany. 90% of my furniture was damaged if not destroyed and are currently sitting in my garage until I file a claim. The 4 gentleman that packed my house lied on the inventory sheet regarding the condition of my furniture. Items they claimed were scratched, damaged and badly worn I took pictures before they left my house and I have pictures of them now in my garage. They had no respect for the items they were packing. None!! Shame on me for being so trusting. People, cover yourself with any moving company. Inform them that anything that goes on the inventory marked scratched, badly worn, or damaged needs to be inspected by you before they pack it or they can unpack it to show you. Be sure that boxes listed as "tools" has specific tools that are in there. TVs need to include size, make, model and serial number as well as pictures that they work before packed. Last, never leave a mover in your house unattended. Ever!!! If you have to have additional family/friends in your house to "babysit" them please do so read more

Morse was called in by my moving company (who failed to meet their obligations after scheduling my move-in). Shawn, Julius and Jayden were very polite and courteous. They worked extremely diligently to complete my move-in within the quoted time frame for which they were being paid by my moving company. They were very careful and respectful of my furniture and pointed out damages that occurred in the loading and moving so I could take pictures to send to my moving company. Given the care and attention they were with my furniture, I would recommend this company for packing and loading especially with Shawn who was the most experienced on the team. read more

If our experience is any indicator, I'm not sure how this company stays in business. First we were told that the scheduled delivery date would be the following week (when no one could be there to take delivery) and then when we fought, they delivered as planned. HOWEVER, a major piece was damaged and another significant piece was missing. The communication is extremely poor; I must have made 20 calls and countless emails for both the timing of the move and trying to get them to track down what's missing.Here we are over a month later, with the missing end table allegedly being delivered--and then we learn that they have SOMEONE ELSE'S coffee table and NOT our missing antique end table! WOW, is all I can say about our experience with Morse Moving. I recently contacted them regarding a cross county move for my 80 year old parents. They were moving from Pellston, MI to Phoenix, AZ, while I was in Europe on vacation. There was no room for error as flights had to be coordinated and any misstep on their part could have been a disaster. I'm happy to say, everything went perfectly from the first time I called to inquire, from their quote, to them dropping off boxes, to showing up on time the day of the move, to the move itself. They continuously followed up with me and my parents. Their furniture and car were delivered on schedule and in perfect condition. My parents are fans as am I. No stars! The most awful experience. When I moved back to Michigan and wanted to claim my items (four large crates) valuable items were broken. A two hundred year old rocker destroyed . A solid brass floor lamp broken at the base. Their offer? $47.00. The worker who opened my crate w/me said wow whoever packed this didn't do it right , your things were just shoved in there , no protection . Even their own employee statement didn't matter to them . I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for professional service or to act with any sense of integrity. Sadly, this review falls into the "fool me twice, shame on me" category. The first incident, a few years ago, involved being billed for time the moving crew spent at lunch. They were gone for over 2 hours but attempted to bill me in the hopes it wouldn't be noticed. I was assured at the time that it was an isolated incident. They removed the charge and I let it go. This most recent experience is where I was fooled for the second and last time. We hired Morse to move furniture from our basement to a non-profit organization in another city. The movers scratched our floors, broke the furniture and required my assistance to get everything into the truck. We were assured that we could file a claim and that all would be sorted but things got worse when they arrived at the animal rescue. The movers backed into a fence and broke the gate. The two-person moving crew acknowledged the damage but Morse is refusing to address the issue. Claims were submitted by both parties involved in the move but rejected by Morse Moving. I would NOT recommend. Our one and last time using "professional" movers to move from our house of 25 years, we had several broken dishes, a damaged safe, a damaged gutter, and stolen/missing necklaces. They did agree to pay for gutter repair since it was one of their trucks that backed into it. However, they only paid for half the safe repair due to limited liability paperwork. This is a joke for a 500-600 lb safe that was damaged during the move. The dishes they would not replace/compensate us for since we packed them and did not note at time of delivery to new house. This also is ridiculous as it's impossible to unpack 50+ boxes after the move as the movers are waiting to leave and still on the clock. The necklaces are what's most upsetting! They are missing and assumed stolen and they will not compensate us for them. Many held sentimental value and are very valuable to me. Their response is that they can't replace what's not there (??) and to file a police report - 4 months after the move. They said they asked the movers if they had them, and they all denied it. Of course they did! The movers were great the day of the move but any follow up on claims has been a struggle. Once they have your money, then it's very poor customer service - from the claims manager all the way to the owner. read more

Were unable to deliver on an agreed and contracted interstate move on 29 June. They pulled out saying they couldn't deliver on just 25 June. We found alternative movers (just) which involved changing flights and using subcontractors who left some of our furniture damaged. It also ruined the last week of living in NY as we scrambled to fix their mess. I would not recommend dealing with this firm which is linked to Wayne More and Joy Morse Green. If your contract isn't worth the paper it's written on, then nor is their trust. read more

I was really shocked by the negative reviews for this company. I went with this company after another company gave me the run around for 2 weeks. After calling Morse Moving, I had a worker at my house the same day to take inventory and give me a quote for the job. The day of the move, I received a phone call from the moving guys-just as promised-that they were on their way. I sort of felt bad for the movers because I had so much junk and a lot of really heavy furniture going up and down stairs and around tight corners. They never complained. Their attitude was great. There was not even a nick or scuff on the walls when they were done. The inventory they took was done professionally. I was very impressed with the workers, the process, and the company. read more

We walked in to the Morse company office with a small packing job shortly before closing, and within seconds we were greeted by the company's owner, Art Morse, himself. He personally served us (along with a couple other assistants) and created two custom containers, one for a large framed painting and one for three smaller framed pieces. He charged us only $20, even though they all stayed well after closing time to take care of us, and he probably used up $20-worth of tape alone! So I happily gave him $25. Everything made it through shipment from Michigan to Arizona totally intact and in as good a condition as the pieces were when we took them into the Morse company. My husband and I feel scammed by Morse Moving! The gentleman that came out to our house and gave us a quote was polite and accurate with our household move weight. However the packers were horrible. We had 3 guys that packed our house up in boxes and took apart our furniture. One was Eric who did an outstanding job with our dishes and valuables. The other 2; John (JD)and Topher should not be in this business. Topher was friendly but packed things carelessly and seemed to just through things in boxes. He packed our hall closet and left half of the stuff in the closet. We ended up having to pack it and load it in our car. John with initials JD should be fired! He was the experienced guy and he was the worst packer I've ever had. Seemed to do a good job when I was standing right in front of him, only to find out that wasn't the case. He left many used rolls of tape inside the boxes, he didn't wrap picture frames yet used a whole box and lots of paper for 2 small lamp shades, he folded my sons art work and pictures, dumped my desk drawer in a box, some piles were wrapped in paper but items were smoothed and folded, he bent books and probably more since I'm not completely finished unpacking yet. Half of the boxes were filled with paper..half items wrapped in paper then a foot of filler paper... We were charged for every box and all the paper that was used, scam! He packed DVDs and bent the cases. Worst part of everything was what they call the "parts box". All pieces that are disassembled are suppose to be put in it so we can rebuild our house once we arrive and start to unpack. Critical supports for our king bed were missing, my husband had to go to the hardware store and make new pieces. We found them shoved in a drawer, not in the parts box. My son has a sleep number bed, were the pieces put in the parts box? Nope, the pieces were in 2 seperate boxes labeled books. Let's talk about labeling boxes, this is important when locating things. Such as the parts box. We had two parts boxes... That only held a quarter of the "parts" and one box wasn't even labeled, it was blank. Other boxes would say something yet have way more items inside it. Example, kitchen wire baskets. One wire basket, one wire shelf and then it had a toaster and other kitchen items that were more important when setting up our new house. We still cannot find our silverware yet all the boxes labeled kitchen have been unpacked!?!? The second set of guys that came to load our belongings up were not any better. The youngest one did the best job wrapping our belongs. However the guys that carried our furniture damaged our stuff, but not bad enough to claim just bad enough to look like we bought it from a thrift store instead of brand new. The guys packed empty boxes, they were the original boxes that we kept and we wanted the items re packed in, however the items were packed separately, by the packers, more money for them in boxes?? They scrapped our walls even after I asked them to watch the walls, I cleaned many of the marks off but you can't clean the dents in the walls or the railings. When they loaded the last items that the packers did not complete they also mixed items that should not be mixed. The didnt label many of the screws, so some we still don't know what they belong to. To add to the terrible treatment that the guys gave us, upon our final walk through of house that we are selling, the day after our goods left, we found some of our belongings shoved/hidden in cabinets that I had previously checked. I visually cleared a storage room, upon the request of the loaders, toward the end of them loading everything, the next day I find belongings put in an upper cabinet. The only good part of our move was Kevin the truck driver. He was kind, detailed and kept us informed during the whole drive. When he arrived to deliver our household goods he hired guys that he knew, sub-contractors, and they drove an hour to our house and we're kind and did a good job unloading and making sure we were happy with where things were put. They built the one bed that we had pieces for and tried to find the parts box with us until I had enough and told them that we would find it. They also connected our sectional couches and gave us tips, like letting them unroll our rugs before bringing in furniture and that was a life saver. They dripped sweat everywhere but it's Florida and I don't think they realized it. We provided food and drinks for all the guys.. We gave some rugs that we intended to leave to the loading guys only to be treated poorly. I will forgive each thing that they did, I will move past this however I don't think this company and these individuals who are in Traverse City should be in this business and I don't want them to negatively impact someone else. read more
