They solved a problem I didn't expect to be solved: some rooms already had floor strips; I didn't think it and the new strips in the remaining rooms could be made to line up. Luke and Paul lined up the flooring to make it look like it had all been laid down in the same job. Beyond that, they work smoothly and efficiently. They don't look rushed, yet they don't waste time. Months later we purchased more flooring to be installed a couple weeks later due to continuing other remodeling. . The salesman was miffed that we insisted on paying for the install later. We disputed their measurements for removal, install and material. They insisted that their "professional measurements" were correct - ours were not. We noted that a competitor's measurements coincided with ours - an architect and contractor. We were rightfully insulted by their rude comments. They were unaware that we were not paying for this work. The tenant was going to pay so accuracy was important to protect the tenant's limited resources. With reservations, and with assurance that the previous installers would do this install we proceeded. They sent the B team which were NOT the A team. As we anticipated there was extra flooring that was not required. As it was paid for, we took it since it had not been brought into the work space. They were very upset. We had inventoried the flooring delivered , did the math, to be sure it had been paid for. The owner Ron, sent a very rude letter REFUSING TO FINISH the work. The transitions sent but not installed were incorrect. They failed to clean up. Generally, they were UNETHICAL, RUDE, AND FAILED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. Poorly managed - don't take a chance.

The installers have been great to work with - very careful moving things, did a great job prepping the rooms, and are VERY much perfectionists when it comes to the install. They really take their time to make sure all of the details are done right. Thoroughly impressed with this place from start to finish. We have a number of pets and please make sure you thoroughly read the warranties around pets - there are a few carpet brands that cover ANY stains, but when you read the fine print most of them start pro-rating the coverage VERY quickly (as in 4 or 5 years after install). We found that Karastan really had the best warranty for what we will likely need.

I thought that I would get personal service from Wood Tech. He showed up the next afternoon and was very professional . . . at first. He told me all about his business so I got a brief look into the young company. I told Dan what I wanted and then he started to get all flirty with me. It was very unprofessional but I figured it was all part of his sales pitch. What I really didn't like was when he tried to up-sell me over what I needed. He wanted to do more square footage and go with his premium package. He suggested that I have areas of wood flooring refinished that no other wood floor refinishing company would touch. I had done my research and talked to a few other companies before Dan, so I told him flat out what I wanted and nothing more. He gave me a verbal quote on price per square foot and I was happy with the numbers (he was in the ballpark for what I was looking to spend). He told me that I would have something from him later that day. Unfortunately, I had to wait a couple weeks to get the price quote. I reminded him several times that I was waiting for his bid. That should have been my clue to lose his number but his initial numbers were good and his time to complete the work was attractive. Each time I asked him to send over his estimate, I received an apology and an excuse that was either redundant, too personal or both. When I finally did get the quote, he had changed the scope of the work to the up-sell (which was about six times my budget). There was no mention of what I had talked to him about what I wanted done. I told him that this is not what I wanted nor what I needed. I wanted an estimate for what I asked him to do for me. A week later, he finally did get me a quote for the work that I wanted but again it was more expensive (per square foot) than what he had verbally quoted me a month earlier. I again asked him about it and then Tanya Van Auken chimed in. She said that if I wanted a written quote for the work that _I_ wanted done that I was not the company for them. WOW!! I went back to my neighbor and they did get the up-sell by Wood Tech as well. They didn't do their research and unfortunately they did buy Wood Tech's Kool-Aid. He was all about the getting one time business and not keeping customers. I don't see him being around very long. Needless to say, I went with another company. PLEASE SHOP AROUND!!
