Morse dog park- this blows midtown dog park out of the water. Happened to be in Elk Grove with my pup so we stopped here! To say she was in heaven was an under statement! They have a small dog park side and a big dog park side! The big one is where I took my Labrador! She loved it! They have like a mini agility course- the grass is perfect and they have cute benches that look like bones! The Morse Dog Park has two gated areas, one for little dogs and one for large dogs. Since the renovation a couple years ago there's been some improvement with drainage, a cement path inside the interior of the large area adjacent with the fence; nice walking path of people want to exercise /walk while their dogs play. Very nice dog park. Did not see any "droppings" left in the grass which is always such a welcome sight at a dog park. There are two sections - one for large dogs and one for small dogs. This dog park is embedded in a residential area which may attribute to the cleanliness as well as the friendliness of the people attending the park. There are water stations as well as wading pools in both areas along with plenty of shade and ample covered seating for the people. PLEASE NOTE: The entrance is actually on Sorrentino Dr, so follow around and turn right on Sorrentino Dr to find a nice parking lot as well as street parking. read more

Why can't this park be closer to us ? Morse dog park and surrounding space is downright pretty awesome . Tucked away in a newer Elk Grove community of homes, lush green grass and plenty of activities await for you and your pups. We visited on a Sunday, which was relatively quiet, despite three separate birthday parties with jump houses going on over on the opposite side of the dog park. There is a separate small and large dog park area . Our pup was lovin' all the new smells and rolling around in all the plush greenery! Few benches , some young trees for shade, there were poop bags and an abundance of old tennis balls and random toys that were just available in the park area . It's a very clean and well maintained park. After about 45 minutes of play time in the dog park area we roamed around the rest of the open park . There's a couple of restrooms, baseball fields, basketball court, a small skateboard half pipe area, jungle gym for kiddos, and a really cool little water splash area !! So awesome ! I can't wait to come back again for a visit . Actually I wanna buy a house across the street so I can enjoy this park everyday. :) read more

Too many annoying small dogs that aren't under control because MOST of them bark and want to go after the bigger dogs. The people here are too cocky and "know it alls" just because they come here everyday which is meh. We used to come here but the small dogs are too obnoxious. I went today and a couple of dogs were waiting at the entrance and kept chasing my dog making him uncomfortable. My dog kept barking at the two dogs to back off, but the dogs kept at it and the owners never recalled their dogs or grabbed them. The dogs and owners do not pay attention to the dogs' body language. I just left shortly after as I didn't want my dog to have a bad experience or things to escalate. We went to Oasis dog park afterwards instead where it was more calm. read more

My favorite dog park in Elk Grove. My two small dogs have never encountered rude dog owners & I love that the small [up to 25lbs] dog and large dog [over 25 lbs] parks are separated. The park itself is pretty nice with all the new upgrades from the remodel and it's nice having 2 sides for different size dogs and poop bags are available for owners to utilize. The only reason I can't give Morse park 5 stars is really because of the people that go. A lot of folks that have been going there forever feel like it's their park and newbies are not welcomed. A lot of people go there to socialize instead of watch their dogs and picking up their poop or stopping their dog from antagonizing other dogs. My husband actually used to walk around and pick up dog poop that other owners have left behind cause he didn't want anyone to step in it or have dogs accidentally eat it and after we stopped going with our corgi friends we learned that a lot of the regulars were talking s*** saying that the corgi group never picks up their dog's poop. It was really irritating to hear that. I felt that we tried to be friendly with everyone there but our pup had a bit of social anxiety and we always felt unwelcomed and got dirty looks. Eventually we stopped going because dog parks were not a good fit for our corgi and we just didn't feel welcomed. read more

I wish I lived closer to this dog park! I came here last Saturday and it was so busy, I couldn't even find a park! I totally expected that to happen, not sure why I even tried to go on a weekend. I never actually had taken my dog to a dog park yet so I didn't think it was a good idea to go when it was this busy so we just went back home. I came again on Monday morning around 10am, and the park in total might of had 10 people. Which was perfect for me! When we got to the dog park it is separated in two by the size of you dog, which is awesome! My dog is completely afraid of big dogs so it was nice not to have that worry. When we walked in there was one other person there with her two little dogs. The dogs of course ran up to me and my dog to greet us as we walked in. I unleashed my dog and hung up his harness and leash on to the fence. My dog is a little investigator so he went right to sniffing everything he could. I could be because this was his first time at a dog park, he was more interested in smelling his surroundings than playing. The other dogs here were very friendly, so once my dog got more of a sense where he was he began to run around with them as well. It was so cute. However, on the other side of the fence, the big dogs would bark at the little ones every once in a while. It wasn't really a big issue though. Overall, I would love to come to this park more often but it is kind of far from me so it will have to be an occasional trip for me and my dog. read more

My absolute favorite place too bring my dog! I own a half jack Russell half chihuahua who isn't the biggest dog at the park! I used to take him to the Elk Grove dog park but I was always a little concerned about the other big dogs stepping on him. I found out about this dog park through a friend and come to find out I live only down the street from here! This dog park separates big and small dogs which was my favorite part about it. It's not a very shaded place with small trees so people tend to favor coming either super early or at dusk right before the sun goes down. usually the same group of dogs and owners come either in the morning or dusk. I'm usually a dusk person myself. They're are your occasional dog fights which you could expect but most people control their dog immediately. The only down side about this place is unfortunately the owners tend to argue and fight over their dogs for any reason. But overall it is an excellent place to bring your dog!! read more

Morse park has an awesome dog park! I love bringing my girl Kirra here to play with other dogs. This is one of the few parks I've been to that actually supplies pop bags making it easier to pick up after your dog. Morse also separates the small and large dogs which gives you a peace of mind since you don't have to worry as much as to your dog getting hurt or hurting another. The owners that come here are also pretty great. The majority of the time they are respectful and actually keep an eye on their dog, intervening when needed. Few tips if you want to bring your dog to a dog park: 1. When you enter take your dog OFF the leash. Leaving your dog tied up makes it a marker for other dogs and the rough housing turns to fighting pretty quickly. 2. Make sure your dog is spayed/neutered. For one it's the right thing to do. Secondly it decreases the amount of fights. Thirdly if your animal isn't fixed, be prepared for looks of judgement from the other owners. 3. Make sure your dogs shots are all upgraded. Don't assume everyone else's animal is 100% healthy. Plus if your don't isn't vaccinated then you're risking ringing something that can infect the other dogs. 4. Pay attention to your dog. Seriously. If your animal starts humping other pets or becoming more aggressive it needs to be addressed. If you're off in la-la land then your risking other peoples safety as they'll have to intervene with YOUR dog. 5. Last of all, clean up after your dog. I should technically put this under #4 but it's such a pain to see people not do it that making it it's own number. All in all I love this park. It's a great and safe place to bring your dog and get them socialized. :) read more

Went with a friend to check out Morse Dog Park and had so much fun!! There's a separate area about half the size of the Large dogs zone, set aside for small dogs (20lbs or less). We went to the large dogs area and they had a ton of seating, shaded areas, and green grass for your pup!! Well behaved dogs and very friendly owners frequent this park! Plenty of space to throw a ball around and fresh water with multiple buckets and a hose for ease of refilling/refreshing the water! read more

I really love this park. Nice grass area, and enough space for all the dogs. Small side with a Pomeranian and papillon. The only downside would be the horrible owners who come in. They don't watch their dogs, or they harass the other owners. I also had to tell the local kids to stop picking up my dog. They come out and play with all the dogs, their parents need to teach them manners around unknown dogs. Also none of them asked permission to pet or pick up my dog which is annoying. I brought mine to come and play with other dogs not be harassed by little kids. My other dog would have bitten someone who he dosent know if they tried to pick him up. I'm going to try again the big dog side with my German Shepard and see how it goes. read more

Best dog park in the area. We love bringing Mochi (our pupper) to Morse Dog Park for him to socialize and play with other dogs. It's super clean and theres good grass coverage. We visited this park while visiting family. We liked the fact that little dogs and small dogs are separated. The small dog area is rather small, wish it was bigger. Unfortunately during our visit there were a few owners in the small dog area not paying attention to their dogs and were just on their phones. Another dog just kept on trying to bite my dog while my dog was just trying to play ball with me. I had to yell at the owner to come get his dog because his dog was bothering my dog. My spazzy year and a half old herding dog has a ton of energy and we're always looking for ways that it can be released. Since he's such a social butterfly, the dog park is a good way for that to happen. I do have a few suggestions for other people that bring their dogs to dog parks though. 1. My 55 pound puppy is not a sex toy for your dog. If you are not responsible enough to spay or neuter your dog than at the least watch it like a hawk and when it runs around humping everything in site, stop it. It's really not cute and even though people may laugh, behind your back, they talk smack about you being an irresponsible owner. This goes for female dogs too - not sure why, but I've seen a few humpers out here. 2. If you are watching your pet and you see it terrorizing every other dog around, stop it. You can the difference between playing and just ganging up on other dogs to be an ass. You are the owner. Don't ruin everybody else's experience. 3. Don't bring your 4 pound ankle biter into the big dog section to "see what will happen". Your little dog looks like a living squeaky toy and one of these huge huskies is going to treat it as such, do your dog a favor and keep it with the other ankle biters. 4. Watch your dog and clean up after it. This dog park is not your dog's toilet - it is a park. When your dog goes, pick it up. If it grosses you out, don't get a dog. 5. The dog park is not a playground for your young kids. Why would you bring a 2-3 year old child in here, who can barely walk, and just let them walk around unsupervised? Not all dog owners have common sense - much like not all parents have common sense. Do you really think every owner picks up after their dogs? Do you really think it's appropriate for you to hang out with your friends gossiping and let your young kid run around and fall into poop? Also - not all dogs like little kids. Are you really lacking that much common sense? Geez - common sense, people! Otherwise, this is a great park. You just have to rein in the few pesky dogs and their owners... read more

Great place to take your puppy or dog! There's two parks one for small dogs and one for big dogs so you won't have to worry about your small dog accidentally getting hurt or anything! All the dogs I've met are really fun and playful not aggressive. My boyfriend brings his dog here and he loves it! There's also good water stations and buckets for them to drink water and cool down. Benches for dog owners to rest and hang out too! Sometimes it's stinky but there's not much you can do about that. Overall great place! read more

This is my favorite dog park! We take our two small/medium dogs to the small park side. It's the perfect size and even has a little hill for a good doggy workout when they run. There's water bowls and water fountains, and doggy bags all along the fences. The only downside is there's only one trash can by the entrance but I guess owners need their exercise too haha! I used to love bringing my dog here, but I agree with what other people have said, a lot of the owners don't control their dogs!! A Rhodesian Ridgeback lunged at one of my dogs before we were able to even go inside the dog park. And his owner didn't even apologize. I am only giving this park 2 stars for one reason only. Last Saturday I went there with a friend of mine and I was told by her to stay on the other side because of the others dogs. Apparently their owners go there every Saturday to meet up and chat. Most of my time there I was trying to get my dog away from their 4 dogs because they were chasing after him, digging their teeth into his neck, walking over him, and pushing him into the fence. It got to a point where he even whimpered when they pushed him down to the ground. I was trying to get a hold of my dog but he was running away from the other ones with his tail tucked underneath him. And the entire time none of the owners did anything. They all stayed in their same spot on the bench and just chatted. I finally get a hold of him and away from the other dogs, only to find out my dog is now injured. His right hind leg is giving him lots of pain and he won't walk on it. It is now day 3 and I will most likely end up having to pay for a costly vet visit all because these owners would not pay attention to what their dogs were doing. So if you're going to go here, I'd say don't go on saturdays.... read more

My father lives in Elk Grove and there aren't many dog parks in the town where I live. When visiting my father, I told him about this park and he was up for checking it out. It really is a nice park! I love how the areas are divided between small and large dogs. It's very clean, there's a ton of space for your pooch to run around until their hearts content and there's water buckets provided for your dog when they need it. Dog park is nice. But there are a lot of pitbull owners that go to this park who do not have their dogs trained. Some are more vicious than others and continuously start problems with other dogs, and the owners don't seem to really care. I have no issue with pit bulls, but pit bulls who are not trained, and owners who don't care is an issue. A couple weeks ago a pit bull was roughhousing really bad with my dog and another dog and scratched my dogs eye. Had to take him to the vet as his eyeball had a little blood. No sympathy from female owner and it cost me about $250 for the vet. There are two older Caucasian women one mid forties very heavy set with a black pit bull long tail, and the other brunette mid thirties Caucasian woman with a tan pit bull. They are there usually weekday mornings around 11am ish. Avoid the park in general but specifically at these times if you can. read more
