we called roto rooter about our toilet being clogged…read more they told us it was a free estimate. after he inspected the toilet, he advised us that we needed a new toilet then he charged us $200. which we paid. then he got our permission to go out and buy a new toilet before we knew it, after everything was said, and done, then we owed another $325.00 the receipt didn't even explain what all the different chargers were to equal this amount of money. first, we paid $200, then later it was another $325, without anything being itemized on the invoice. we have no idea of the type of toilet he bought, or any other expenses that were incurred i believe that we totally overpaid for the services, and got taken advantage of. we would greatly appreciate getting some of our money refunded back to us, for the lack of communication, and no breakdown of the different costs on the invoice.

Ralph and Rita to the rescue once again…read more My (only) six-year-old water heater's pilot went out. In the old days, I would run down to Lowe's and pick up a thermocouple and install it myself but I was brought up to speed by Helping Hand when they informed me that my water heater model required a different kind of part, a "thermopile" that must be ordered out of state. After waiting two days, the part came in, Ralph and Rita came out and.....the part was still unable to resolve the issue due to a low voltage reading. This meant that I would have to keep ordering other associated parts until the problem would be resolved. Ralph also discovered a separated baffle which should have been attached at the top of the tank, resting at the bottom of the tank, with no way to reattach it, which really was "baffling". He kindly suggested the possibility of having an entirely new tank installed, one where if parts were to fail, he would have access to replacing them locally. As it was suggested, so it was accomplished. They were kind enough to go out and obtain a new water heater and accessories that same day, diligently working into the evening after a long arduous day from other jobs prior to mine, until the install was fully finished. Once again, it was a friendly and professional experience with efficient, thorough and desired results from start to finish.

The owner, Patrick, arrived during my four hour appointment window. He was very courteous both through Yelp and in person. After climbing on the roof and determining the issue, he gave me a repair price and also a price to replace the whole, almost forty-year-old, unit. The prices were very reasonable compared to other companies I had asked for a rough estimate. He didn't pressure me to choose the more expensive option at all. I chose to repair and the air conditioner was up and working less than ten minutes later because he had the two replacement parts already in his truck. Patrick even installed a clean filter in our house, with the filter we had on hand, as a courtesy before he left. Overall, I highly recommend Exclusive HVAC. They are a small local company that provides quick and efficient service at a fair cost.

Come summer, the AC was now not working and after a month of troubleshooting in the heat, the issue could just not be resolved. During the heatwave, I finally went on Yelp and after reading through the reviews, settled on Exclusive HVAC. (Fingers crossed!) Patrick returned my inquiries immediately and patiently listened to the issues with our AC. He informed me of the initial service charge for a site visit and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. I immediately received a confirmation text and another text 10 min before the appointment, letting me know Phillip was on his way! Phillip was prompt, polite, cool and just a great human being. Phillip checked everything out, sharing his observations every step of the way. Fortunately, it was a quick fix and the AC was back up and running!!! He shared the findings from the diagnostic readings and gave his opinion that the reading wasn't great (it's an old AC), but that I could still potentially get 5 more years? He casually went through the different options, what he would do if he were in my situation, etc. At no point during this process did I feel pressured to fix anything or buy anything or replace anything. (Though he did paint a picture of what I might expect in the future with the AC.) Since Phillip was able to fix the issue during the service call, no extra charges were added. I just received the invoice for the initial service charge and I could not be more grateful. I will most definitely be reaching out to Exclusive HVAC as soon as there are any more issues. I'm just so thrilled to find a knowledgeable and experienced technician that I know I can trust for the future.
