They have brought my overly worn, ripped and extremely dirty suede boots back to life! I have the hardest time finding tall boots that fit just right, and when I finally found a pair of course they had to cost me an arm and a leg. So obviously I wore these boots until they had no miles left. (Or so I thought). I stowed them away for a year never having a chance to get them repaired until now. The owner put a new heel edge at the bottom, did a miraculous patch job on this huge rip, and cleaned them up so well that they look brand new! Took a week to do and cost about $50. I cannot thank them enough! Already brought another pair of boots to them and can't wait to get them back!

Finally after speaking to Vic from "Vic's shoe repair" in Rockaway Borough, he sent me to his cousin. Ms. Kechishian in Sparta. She did such an incredible job and in less time than expected. It is in better condition then it was when it left the factory. She replaced the thin vinyl with leather and restitched the seams. The costs was a bargain and less then I would have spent buying a used seat off eBay. I so highly recommend the Leather Zone in Sparta, NJ and I really want to thank Hratch for the time, work and effort that she did for me.

I wanted to love this place because of the great reviews. I dropped off my very rare vintage carpet…read morebag to be cleaned and to have new handles attached. The owner, Zoe, assured me they knew how to care for that type of bag. I asked that they not rush because it's a delicate item and specifically requested they take their time. After about two and a half weeks, I called to see if my bag was ready, and they said yes. When I went to pick it up, I was so disappointed to see that one side of the bag seemed ruined. It looked like someone had scrubbed it, which completely destroyed the color. Not only that, but there was also a hole in the lining, which they later attempted to repair--even after I had asked them not to touch the bag until the owner returned from being out of town. I understand that mistakes happen, and I was more than willing to let them fix it. The first woman I spoke to was incredibly kind and patient. However, when I finally spoke with the owner, Zoe, she refused to admit they had done anything wrong. She repeatedly interrupted me, dismissed my concerns, and insisted her family had done this kind of work for generations. What was really odd was that when I told her I was at work and feeling stressed by the conversation, and asked her to please lower her voice, she mimicked me and said, "I'm in the office and you're stressing me out, please stop yelling at me," while practically yelling herself. She continued to downplay my concerns, told me to calm down, and accused me of overreacting. I asked to speak with someone else, since we clearly weren't communicating well, but she ignored me and continued loudly talking about her family history. Eventually, I got through to her that I had pictures of my bag before they damaged it. She kept insisting the bag looked "beautiful" and that the work was "beautiful." After I sent her the before-and-after photos, she replied with an image of the poor repair job to the lining, despite my explicit request that no repairs be made until I had spoken with her. She was still confrontational when I picked up my bag. I left work early because the whole experience made me feel they would further destroy it. I had to ask her around five times that I just wanted to pay for the handles and leave. She kept insisting the work was good, and then went further to say I was trying to ruin her business. This was the worst money I've ever spent. This whole experience was awful. I had really hoped to find a nice local place to bring my bags, but sadly, this wasn't it.

The work was done while I waited, turning what should have been a quick pickup into a frustrating delay. The sandals were handed back tacky, with paint splotches on the soles and sides of the shoe that I had to point out and ask them to clean off. The final result was mediocre and clearly rushed. When I politely requested a discount for the delay and quality issues, the owner made defensive personal excuses about her livelihood, dismissing my concerns and making the interaction uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the staff then spoke negatively about me in Spanish right in front of me, apparently assuming I didn't understand. They eventually granted a very small (5%) discount, but given the lack of professionalism, rushed quality, and disrespect, I will not be returning.
