Paczki are made with eggs and the dough is very often a yellowish color and very moist. I've had paczki for more years than I care to remember. Traditionally, they were made with prune filling, but American tastes have adulterated the tradition. These paczki seem to have been deep fried with oil that was used to fry fish. The after-taste was just horrible! I haven't been able to get it out of my tastebuds. My recommendation to anyone who is considering buying paczki here at Detroit Donut at Hoover Road and 11 Mile (also known as I-696) in Warren MI to not do it! I have to throw out the remaining donuts, it is so very bad!
