When we arrived there was mice droppings in the Utensils drawer, the cookware cabinet and the microwave cart. We contacted the caretaker and the owner and got an "oh well" type of response. People can get sick(Hantavirus) from that kind of infestation. We feel the owner knew they were having guest and should have had the place looked over and cleaned before our arrival. We did stay through our reserved time, it was a gift from our kids for our Fiftieth Anniversary. that's not the point, it should have been clean. This would have been a 4.5 to 5 rating. We will not stay there again.

The owners of the house were extremely kind and communicative, which made everything from check-in to check-out very simple and easy. The location is lovely since it's only a few minutes outside of Hood River, but away from the busyness of the town, while being right on an orchard and across the street from a winery (which was a win for the two moms during nap time) ;) Would definitely recommend!

After a 20 mile hike around the Indian Wilderness area, I relaxed in the jacuzzi tub and then had a comfortable sleep in the cabin. The next morning I watch the sunrise over Mount Adams and then worked for a couple hours on the good wifi. There was a small kitchenette in the room to warm the food I brought from home. There is also pizza place across the parking lot. The cabins were extremely quiet and dog friendly. What a great place to relax for 3 days this fall. I'll be back again!

Enjoyed our time in the cabin and loved the soaking tub on the back patio, with the view of the river. We did hear quite a few trains go by throughout the night and morning. Was not a fan of the cabin above us (cabin 7 I think?). They had tons of kids running around and up and down the stairs making it hard for us to enjoy and relax. Lots of thuds and thumping and super inconsiderate to us below them. The neighbor right next to us had a dog with them that kept barking when we were using the soaking tub, so we didn't get to use it very long the evening we got there, but we were able to enjoy it early in the morning because the dog was quiet and did not continue to bark. Loved that there was a small record player in the cabin, but wish there was a bigger selection of records in the room and the lounge area. We did really like how close it was to all the breweries and restaurants. Would love to come back with friends next time!

They helped with some wifi issues, brought me more detergent, and I even got the TV figured out this time. I wish Oregon would repave I84 to cut traffic noise, but then this place would be too perfect, I guess. May try a new rental with more of a water view next time. But if you want to be able to walk out and be at a great restaurant or brewery on 2 minutes, they can recommend a spot. Place was clean and tidy when I arrived. I'll rent with them again.

The stairs were kinda intimidating and that wasn't really apparent from the video or pics but once we got over that, the rest of the house was great - amazing panoramic views, and it comes with A/C that worked really well. The garbage disposal was broken but no biggie... and the house was pretty clean. Overall pretty happy with it and I would stay at least at this particular house again in a heartbeat!

A friend and I were fishing the Klickitat River on Friday, 9/4. It had been a long day on the river, and we'd picked up a few fish but it was by no means "white-hot". Towards the end of the drift, near town, we saw a driftboat anchored up against the shore. We figured this meant that the fishermen were going after Chinook, and fished on through with our floating lines. Long story short, we hooked a strong steelhead in the whitewater just above the hole, and had to pull over just in front of the boat. We asked the guide -if we could borrow his net, as we'd lost ours the previous day. He not only did that, but hopped out and netted the fish for us. The guide (Ricky) could have been angry with us for fishing through his water (even on accident). Instead he was a consummate professional and very friendly, cheering us on. My friend and I were very impressed at his riverside manners and think it deserves a very strong kudos. I will definitely keep the Evening Hatch in mind on my future trips to the river. Keep it up guys!

I found this place on Airbnb - I was working in Portland for a couple of days and wanted to take a…read moreday off while I was down here, get out of the city, and do some hiking and generally chill out. I LOVED this studio...I was able to walk to everything ( for such a tiny town there is GREAT food and drink to be had within just a few blocks.). I really appreciated how well thought out every detail was...from the super easy to use smart TV (I am not remote-savvy), to the thoughtful extras like an espresso machine, a nutri-bullet (I'm a smoothie addict), an excellent selection of books for both general reading and exploring the area (no matter what your activity of choice is). The internet was great, as I did still have to get some work done, and everything was clean clean clean! I seriously wanted to just move in. I took a hike (the Labyrinth / Coyote Wall hike - about 7.5 mile loop that I found in one of the books in the studio), and it was absolutely gorgeous - there are an insane amount of hikes in this area that are all close by....not to mention all the water sports if you're into that. Hop over the bridge and you can do some shopping in Hood River. I really loved coming back to White Salmon at the end of the day though - I preferred to eat and drink here (an excellent cold beer at "Everybody's Brewing"....definitely go there) and walk back to the studio. My stay was SO relaxing, and I needed for nothing while I was here. The host was super nice and responded quickly to any questions I had. I highly recommend this little gem, and I'm definitely coming back!
