French Dip with French fries and au jus 3 pickle slices and a flower
Gabe W.

I arrived at 11:00 and found a parking spot in front of the restaurant and there's plenty of parking which is easy to access even for people with mobility difficulties. I was immediately greeted and seated in a nice warm sunny booth. Knowing what I was going to eat, I ordered as soon as the waitress brought me a glass of water. The restaurant is clean, spacious and has a friendly atmosphere but sometimes it's just a little bit noisy. I love, love, love it when my food arrives as ordered and really hot. The French fries were delivered crispy and HOT along side of the French Dip sandwich which was nice and HOT, oh yeah baby the food was fantastic. The au jus added more flavor and heat which was soooo yummy . In my opinion, the biggest question is, would you order it again? Yes, Yes, Yes I will order it again! Kelly was an exceptional waitress and I didn't even have to order another glass of water, because when mine was half empty another magically appeared.

It's very cute inside. My husband and I both ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. I liked it but my husband who's had his fair share of buffalo chicken wraps said it was ok. It was definitely lacking on the buffalo sauce. The Bloody Mary wasn't my favorite. It had a very acidic flavor. I'd like to try their breakfast, I've heard from others it's very good. My MIL ordered the chorizo omelet and she enjoyed it. With all that being said, this is still a solid option in the area, and we will be back to try more. We were with two small children and they were very accommodating despite how busy it was.

Stopped by for lunch and was very pleased with my experience. I ordered the French dip sandwich with soup and it was pretty good. Exceptional, really. The service was great, it wasn't too noisy and my wife's pecan French toast was also good. So, if you're looking for a quick brunch or lunch on a Tuesday, this is your place!

Two days in a row we came.... My mom lives in Mukwonago. I live in Iowa. It was Excellent! Had breakfast yesterday...Eggs Benedict. Today lunch. Mushroom burger, chicken bacon melt, tomato bisque. All great! Great atmosphere, bright cheery, clean. Abby the owner came by the tables checking to see how everyone's meal was. A delightful, warm woman. It was my birthday today and I forgot to order the special beignet's but, was too full. She surprised me with a tray. .. They were the BEST! SOOOOO DELICIOUS! Do not miss having the beignet's! Do not miss a trip or two (a week) to Morning Crumbs! It will be a regular stop when I'm in Mukwonago! I forgot.... The Grinch drink was pretty tasty as well!

The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. Along with a mansion where you can book a room, Maxwell also includes beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. But it's the speakeasy, which is accessible outside in the front of the house, that you'll want to visit. Ask for the password inside the mansion, and they will let you into a dark, below-ground bar. It's all decorated in prohibitionist flyers, and even the bartenders are dressed up in period costumes. It's a really cool and unique bar in Lake Geneva.

A few days after we visited the speakeasy, we went in to try the apothecary bar to get some food and drink. A friendly helpful bartender, explained all their creative cocktails, shared the pub food that they offered, and answered questions. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a spinach artichoke dip as well as a couple of cocktails. They served us at a table where we sat on a couch in a room just across the hall and were quite comfortable. There are other rooms where you can go - not much seating in the actual apothecary bar.

They do a tremendous job of explaining the menu and food options in detail, and ensure you have a great experience from start to finish. The drinks? Nothing short of amazing. They vary the featured cocktails menu every 8 weeks, so most likely you'll get a different experience every time you go. However you can always get your classic cocktails like Margaritas, French 75 and Martinis. They also can do any drink NA which is the first of its kind in the US. They have an option called dealers choice, where you can pick the spirit and flavor profile of the drink you want: spicy, sour, floral, smoky etc. no limits! You write down on a card what you want and they craft you a cocktail based on your selections. They also offer a variety of food pairings to go along with the select, featured drink you order. We got spring rolls, a braised, pork infused doughnut, and an incredible bone broth that still has me in a tizzy. Fair warning: it's small and difficult to get a reservation - don't try your luck walking in, this place is a hot ticket and you won't be able to get in without a resy, which could be weeks or months out. This is a true gem of a cocktail bar, and is as good as anything you would find in New York or Chicago.

I had heard about the Tin Widow's holiday pop up being one of the best area, the hype was not wrong. From the entrance to the ceiling and walks, this place is the definition of deck the halls. Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. Highly recommend making this place a holiday stop. I'm also curious to stop in after the holidays to experience it without all the holiday decor.

They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.
