Drove 3 hrs round trip for a 2014 CRV. Very disappointing experience with Morganton Honda. The cruise control did not work properly, the blower motor (heat/air) began growling loudly when we turned it on (and stopped blowing air in about 5 minutes), questionable rattly sounds coming from the rear-rend, etc... We did not buy the car. The expectation of going to a brand name dealership for a car that is overpriced with an additional doc. fee is that i can trust the car has been gone over and serviced with broken things replaced, or at least disclosed. The car was running when we walked up to It for a test drive, but the defrost wasn't on with the temp in the 20's....NO WONDER, IT DIDN'T WORK! It's not that a blower fan can't be replaced, but the bigger question is what else is wrong with this car they aren't telling me. It felt very shady, wasted 3 hrs of my day, and a tank of gas. I would not recommend this dealership for a used car. At least the sales person Faith was nice. read more

This place has gotten to be a VERY POOR experience for me. They lie regarding services and I will NEVER go back to them. I would rather drive to Hickory and get the level of service that Honda expects from their dealerships! Never ever going back! Because every time I go they give me a long list of things that need to be serviced and my trusted mechanic and I just laugh at the bull crap they say! ***Aggressive behavior?? If you think asking questions and insisting on the actual service checkpoint inspection I paid for, then possibly the "owner's son" needs more training!!!! This is a smaller Honda dealer in Moganton, NC, but I had a pleasant and straightforward discussion and negotiation with Holly via test and email and we arrived at a fair price on a new CRV. I appreciated her honesty and lack of pressure to purchase dealer add-ons which are expensive and that you don't need, like nitrogen in the tires, pinstriping, window tinting, etc. Our experience with Holly and the dealership was pleasant and I hope yours is also. read more

Came here with my mother so she could pick up a new (to her) car she saw online. As she was contemplating getting it, the price dropped further. Her salesman, Chris, was friendly, transparent and forthcoming with information on the car. This was a bit of a drive for us but this was something my mom needed ASAP since the insurance company was telling her the rental would be due soon (after she'd been lied to about having rental coverage in the first place) and she liked the size and color of this car. Chris even had a conversation with me, which usually doesn't happen when I go places with family since they tend to dominate everything and nobody's interested in dealing with the visitor from NYC. That gave me a better impression of this very small town I'd never been to. Another thing to note is that my mom saw the car listing online and was able to get information there, even having the option of having it delivered to her from a significant distance so it does feel like they're keeping up with the times regardless of their small town feel. Even if you're not in the area you might just be able to get something here. My mom was not happy about being previously pre-approved for lower amounts then being socked with a higher monthly payment so be aware of that but from a sales and customer service perspective, it doesn't get much better than this. read more

Went in today to see about a car. First set of numbers was ridiculously high. Mentioned a Honda deal advertised on both the Honda website and Morganton Honda's website. Salesman goes and talks to some random guy. Comes back and doesn't even refer to the deal he was going to check on. Just kept saying they have to make money too. I think we all understand the business has to make money, but if I go to a grocery store that is advertising 50 cent loafs of bread and they act all shocked when I want to buy a loaf of bread for 50 cent maybe instead of false advertising they should just take the damn sign down. Shout out to Mark Spake for his outstanding service. My 11 yr old CRV's AC broke down on my trip moving halfway across the country. I had no clue where Morganton was before 3d ago! I was already headed to Asheville so I googled nearby Honda dealerships and was able to book a service appt with Morganton Honda online. I was happy to see them ready to take my car in for service at the appt time - no wait. They quickly evaluated my unit and found the problem; unfortunately, they didn't have the part in stock. Mark was able to source an aftermarket piece nearby, had it delivered and installed 2hrs prior to his estimated job time. They provided me with a great loaner so I was able to make the most of my trip - got a hike in and grabbed some food nearby! They texted me when the car was ready so I got the text on a trail. This was one of the most transparent, seemless experiences I've had - now I can continue on with my road trip in the summer heat! read more

Unethical! I was working a deal on a new CR-V over the phone. They sent an offer sheet which I accepted and sent a copy my drivers license to confirm. The salesman acknowledge my offer. This was 1:15 pm. During this negotiation the salesman said someone was actually test driving it, that was at 1:09. At 1:25 the salesman said he was waiting to see what these people wanted to do. At 1:39 he said I think these people are going to buy it. I complained that it was already sold to me. and he said I have others CR-Vs coming in next month. I complained to the sales manager and was told they were in the system at 1:02 .I said that is not true as they were out test driving at 1:09 which I have a proof of on my texts. The sales manager (Rodney) threaten me by saying, come down and tell me to my face I'm a liar. Then hung up! Classy! read more

This is probably my favorite new car dealer in Western North Carolina. I found this dealer Morganton Honda, looking for an alternative to a local Honda dealer. This dealer has an excellent internet presence, where I was able to get a feel for their customer service model and get a taste for their ability to evaluate a trade-in AND quote a fair-price at the same time. The Internet Sales person at Morganton Honda; Terra, helped put an attractive deal together with Garrett ( the VP) where I get an excellent trade-in value AND was offered the car we wanted, at an attractive price. Trent an excellent sales rep at Morganton Honda, helped with everything after we arrived; the test drive and answering a hundred questions with patience and a smile. Trent was able to get us a better finance deal thru Honda where we saved almost an entire interest point. Our final car payment was within $16 of what we thought it would be. Their Detail Specialist, Michael went over our new car with a fine tooth comb cleaning everything to our approval. Karen, one of their Finance experts, answered our every question about each page of our purchase contract with professionalism and a smile. We are not rich nor famous, but the Excellent staff here at Morganton Honda made us feel like we were. Our last view of our visit was captured by Kenneth in this photo. I needed a reliable used truck. Honda of Morganton had a trade in Ridgeline listed. Since it came from a Honda owner, turned in at a Honda dealership for purchase of another Honda I felt that was a fairly safe bet for purchase. The salesman was pleasant and patient. I did hope for more records info, but outside of the Carfax they said they had nothing else to share. I surmise that dealerships perhaps do not take in or pass along any paperwork records from previous owners? It was our best option price/mileage/car-history-wise out of everything I'd looked at so far, so we purchased and drove the truck home back to Asheville area. The next day my husband drove the truck on some errands around town and noticed a metal on metal scraping and rattling sound at slower speeds and going over bumps. We took it to Apple Tree Honda as they are the closest "official" Honda place to us - they said it was a good thing we brought it in because it could have become a dangerous situation. They found that the front rotors did not match one another, that one of them was installed backwards, and the brake line had got caught up somehow and gotten a kink in it, as well as the calipers missing a slide pin bolt. Admittedly I was flabbergasted that whatever Morganton Honda's "safety" and approval inspections are, to determine putting something on the lot for sale, did not appear to include a more thorough examination to the whole braking system! Apple Tree did the work because it did not otherwise seem safe to get it back down to Morganton, plus at that point I was feeling a bit skeptical of the Morganton service center's thoroughness and skill. I called Morganton that day to lodge a complaint. Next day a woman in charge of their business reputation/PR etc... got in touch with me and said she would try her best to make sure I was satisfied, but that it may be difficult due to it being a used "as is" vehicle, and them not having been the ones to do the work since I took it to Apple Tree. A couple days of back and forth phone calls ensued as she was investigating the details of what all had happened. Morganton assured that they were not the ones to have installed the rotor incorrectly. But they admitted that their level of inspection for general used vehicles is not as thorough as for their "certified pre-owned" line - consequently they only inspected how much brake pad was left and that the brakes worked, and that was as far as it went. They did not disassemble anything to get a good look at the rotors, so they did not know it was an issue. I wager there are people at Morganton Honda who possibly did not want to offer any recompense at all, so whether its a testament to this woman's role, or a testament to the business on principle not wanting to look bad on ANY sale they just made, used or not - I was finally able to come to some agreement on assistance. Something was better than nothing, given that I had the issue occur right after getting the car home - and one would think that buying from a large dealership would come with more thorough inspection. I encouraged for future reference it would be good practice to thoroughly inspect the whole braking system, rotors and all, especially on used vehicles, for the safety of their customers. Why risk potential accident/injury/death over something which could have been relatively quickly taken care of ahead of time had they just looked closer? All in all I don't discourage purchase from Morganton Honda, but if buying used (from anywhere really), be sure to get VERY thorough detail of everything that was inspected, and to what extent it was inspected. Because clearly one can't assume that just because its a big, well known dealership, that they wouldn't possibly let something leave the lot that otherwise would have and should have been fixed on site before sale. I went in to get my rear brakes changed. Next thing I know the supervisor comes out with an estimate of $1300! Apparently there was brake fluid leak and my brake calipers were ruined. I had NO bake fluid issues whatsoever prior. Then all of my warning lights popped up on the dash when I had nothing wrong with my car. My ebrake locked my wheels up! My car was in the shop for 2 weeks!! I had to make sure I wasn't paying for any of the damage they tried to put on me. They wouldn't give me a rental for free but I said "as long as you guys dont charge me anything for ruining my car and fixing it then I'll let y'all slide without giving me a free rental. I had to call up my mechanic friends and families who works at different Honda dealerships and they all stated that Honda of Morganton caused all the damage and tried to blame it on me. My friends and family knew exactly how they messed my car up Bc coming in for brake changes should not have resulted in that mess. I appreciate Honda fixing their wrong but I don't want anyone to go there for any maintenance work or anything at all. Go elsewhere. read more

I purcashed a New Toyota Camry from Mike Johnson Toyota in Hickory a little over 15 months ago it was the 3rd Toyota I had purchased from them. Alot has changed in those 15 months and I was in need of a Mini Van do to family growth so we looked at a 2018 Sienna for $36,000. I Knew I would definitely be up side down with this car but I have really good credit .I needed to keep payments close to what I had been paying. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal but after spending over 3plus hours, they didn't seem to really to want to get me to a payment tat was workable without like $10,000.00 down...you know like pocket change just laying around. I ended up just saying No ..This was on Friday. The very Next Day My wife went to Morganton Honda and looked at a 2018 Honda Odyssey for $36,000 told the salesman what we were looking to do. He gave her the keys asked her to drive it and pick me up. I liked the van and it had everything the Sienna had pretty much Identical features. We went back to the Dealership and in a little over 2 hrs they had done what Toyota couldn't do... Put me in the Vechicle we needed for close to the payment I had been making. Don't shop here for used cars. After the sale was done I found on NADA that I was boned by $2000! Bought a new vehicle from them years ago and went in for my first maintainence check...cost $421.00! This only after 10000 miles!! I know dealers can be shysters but I thought they might be different...but no. I should have known better...don't trust ANY car dealer! read more
