I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Such a fun day celebrating my birthday last Thursday. I've never been able to own horses, but I…read morelove going riding whenever I get the chance. Matt and I chose A Trail To Remember to take us out for a ride and it was unlike any other "trail ride" I've ever been on! When we showed up Kelli served up mimosas and we got to relax under a red umbrella in really comfy lounge chairs. When we went on our ride it was only Matt, myself and our trail guide Scott. Instead of being with a large group riding in a straight line, Scott let us go at our own pace and lead, it was like we were riding with a friend, not a trail guide. Scott was also our own personal photographer on the trail capturing our little moments along the way. When we got back to the horse trailer Kelli had a personalized birthday cake waiting for me and then they proceeded to sing me happy birthday. We ended our time with feeding the horses some carrots and eating cake! What a great birthday all thanks to Kelli Cathey-Andersonkel and her awesome team! I'll definitely use them again! We started looking for a horse and we heard from her that she had a horse that fit our description so we went and looked at the horse and he was literally everything we were told he was and more! We got there and he was literally the sweetest most loving horse ever! I like the older ones because they are better broke for the kids to ride. We ended up with this amazing horse named Pooh Bear. The best part about it is she even dropped him off to me because I was so close. I mean how better can it get honestly! All the girls that work here were absolutely phenomenal. The parking area for the trail is pretty big, and has a restroom and trash bins. Map directions to Ortega Oaks Candy shop & the parking area for Bear Canyon Trail will be right across the street. Don't forget to display your adventure pass. The start of the trail out to 4 corners is a little over 3 miles depending on what split you take around mile 2.

The parking lot is easy to get to. There's restrooms in the parking lot. The adventure pass is required. This is an easy hike except the last .4 of a mile closer to the peak. It's really steep. Be careful. Trekking poles are helpful coming down in that section of the hike. There were several other people in the trail today. There was a group of kids who I think were boys scouts. There are a lot of bugs and I recommend you bring insect repellent. Overall, it was an awesome hike. Happy hiking! The 74 highway is under construction. I recommend you check the 74 Ortega Highway Widening website for future closures. They occasionally have 55hr full highway closures on the weekends. It's anticipated to be completed by Spring 2025.

There was more time on the ground than in the balloon. Also noticed that other companies started earlier and were going much higher and lower than we were. The drone following us taking video was extremely annoying. Not the adventure I had hoped for, but enjoyable do do one time.
