This store only gets one star because it is impossible to post zero stars!…read more I dropped off my husbands Civil War uniform at Plaza dry cleaners at Hurley's in Towanda last Tuesday, to clean it for a Labor day parade he was marching in on Monday in Leraysville. I made a point of telling them that I needed it for the parade and would be picking it up on Sat. The girl said not a problem, they were open till 1:00. I was there at 12:25 on Sat., and they were closed. My Husband had to borrow a uniform. I went to pick up his uniform today, and told the store owner what had happened. I have never in my life come across a business owner as mean and rude as she was. I asked to speak with her boss, and she said "the buck stops here- pay for it or I will keep it". It is a 400.00 uniform! I didn't know how to react. I asked her how she slept at night, and she told me to shut up and get out of her store. These people also own a store in Sayre. I would not recommend doing business with these people. Finally I want to say this situation is disrespectful to our fallen soldiers. I was always told the best advertisement is by word of mouth. These people are mean and untrustworthy!!!!!! This business owner told me she doesn't have problems like this in Sayre, only in Towanda.

Inside the dry cleaners, there's a dedicated sewing and alterations room with a changing area. My initial fitting was on a Monday. It was short and efficient, but definitely not rushed--they were warm and accommodating, and clearly knew what they were doing. A few days later on Thursday, I got a text that the dress was ready! Alterations are never cheap, but Maria's skill and attention to detail make every penny worth it. I can't praise her enough. If you need anything tailored, I highly recommend Maria. You'll be in great hands!

When I spoke with him about his charging my student $6.40 to launder a dress shirt, $14.25 to dry clean pants, $19.20 for dry cleaning a sports coat, he felt justified in charges outrageous prices. His logic is that the clothes come out clean and not destroyed. That is the goal of all dry cleaners, right? He is taking advantage of students. I will have my student dry clean at home for half the price and just as clean and not destroyed.
