    Carnitas wet burrito $6.99
    Scott G.

Authentic Mexican food, reasonable prices, decent service, $3.50 beer, mini bar, fun lively vibe, karaoke on Saturdays and menudo on weekends... dare I say more? Most of the authentic Mexican venues in the Couve are really more take out taquerias than dine in restaurants. The dine in Mexican restaurants in the Couve are less authentic and more expensive. Morelia Mexican Grill is in-between a take out taqueria and a traditional dine in restaurant. It has a fun vibe with latin music playing instead of the usual soccer game. It is also in a foodie nirvana strip mall with an Asian, Latin and Russian grocery stores. The parking lot is not big but there is a urban ghetto parking lot next door. LOL I had a carnitas wet burrito ($6.99) and a chicken taco ($2). They were both good but not the best I have ever had. The carnitas was pulled too much and the chicken was a little dry. The flavors however were fabulous. It's in the top 5 for authentic Mexican food in The Couve. If you want to dine in and maybe some karaoke, this is your place. If you are doing the Fourth Plain taco crawl, you have to stop here. I'll be back for sure. Check it out.

This was strait FIRE!!!!!!! I'm telling you ppl u have to eat here. It was the best Mexican food I've ever had outside of my abuelita. If your smart and decide to go get the camarones sarandiados you will thank me latter. I was a little apprehensive about it when I walked in Bcs it's a little hole on the wall type restaurant but the got flavor down.

The ceviche was soooo good!! I've been on a ceviche kick and this was the third place I've tried this month and I liked it the best. I can't wait to go back and try other things!

Chorizo taco $2 - good but no avocado like in all the other pics :(

I've been craving Mexican lately, so here's another one... Morelia seemed great on yelp, reality was ok, but maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Sign said $4.99 burrito combo so I went with that - didn't say what it came with, and I didn't ask. I didnt get a drink so thinking it includes beans and rice, and i even got some chips and salsa to minch while I waited. Homemade GOOD spicy salsa btw. I think their burritos automatically come smothered w red sauce since the other pics had it too. I didn't care for it since it was kind of a sweet tomato sauce vs the kind of savory sauces I'm used to. It somewhat ruined the flavor of my yummy chicken burrito so I would ask for it dry if I go back. Also got a chorizo taco just to try. Pricier than their neighbor Don Pedro at $2 vs $1.30 but still good. I'm sad that every yelp pic has avocado and tomatoes garnishing everything, but for me - nada. The avocado is one of the reasons I bookmarked this place, but oh well. Girl working the counter was a total sweetheart w an infectious smile. Really great friendly service, but unfortunately I'm not completely sold on the food. Oh the street taco stand someone posted is either only in the summer or no longer exists [15 of 30]

One of several wall murals. It's not a breathtaking work of art, but it contributes nicely to the atmosphere.

Great, authentic food at very reasonable prices. Exceptional atmosphere for a "hole in the wall" type Mexican place. They have nice murals on the walls and decent furniture, and everything is very clean and well kept. My only complaint is that their soda machines seem to have their proportions off as all of the soda tastes sort of weak. Next time I will get a bottled soda, but there will definitely be a next time. I had the burrito viva Mexico, and my husband had the nachos. Both were tasty. They also have a good kids' menu. I'm anxious to try their tacos and some of their breakfast foods as well as a few other menu items. Staff speaks English well and the signage and menus are all very friendly to non-Spanish speakers as well.

    Mirranda S.

Delicious tacos, excellent margarita and the salsa is on point. Worth adding this place to your routine. If you drive anything larger than a small car, good luck on parking, while the struggle is real, it is worth it. Pastor this good is a rare find, unless you are lucky enough to have a friend or family member with that level of game.

This place is pretty consistent and fast! Some of the best food I've had in the city! Can't find food like this in Portland! Asada is better than the chicken ;)

I ordered the chips and salsa as well as the machete. The machete was half and half with lengua (tongue) and suadero. It was well cooked, the lengua had a nice flavor to it, and I appreciated the hot sauces available on the table. The decor inside is very nice, however, when I went in the restaurant had a scent of bathroom cleaning products. Not just a fresh or clean smell, but that scent you get from those overly scented chemical products. To be honest, that was the only downside. If it wasn't so strong and overpowering, I don't think I would have given anything less than five stars. The food is absolutely amazing, the portions are awesome, and the prices are very reasonable. Spanish speaking staff. Warm chips and good salsa. Decent rice and beans. The not so good: taco shells were not made on site, seem to be from a package. The margarita was not tasty, the mix was off and the house tequila was not so good. I could only finish half of it. Being my first time, I asked for her recommendation from the hostess on what to order? Instead of rising to the occasion, she immediately said I don't eat meat then proceeded to tell me about all the high dollar meat items. lol I could not take her recommendation to heart. I went with a somewhat safe bet of two crunchy tacos. The rice and beans were decent. The shells were crispy but flavorless. The salsa and chips were decent. The chips were warm. I finished the two tacos half the margarita and left. Would I go back here again? Probably not, with so many places to eat in this area, but I had to give it a shot. I overheard the table next to me complaining about their fajitas. The gentleman said "this is just Chuck steak" and I had to laugh out loud before I left. Disclaimer.
