I won a gift certificate for an olive oil tasting party for 12-18 people. It was so fun! This is a locally owned family run business. Please spend your $$ here for your olive oils. We learned a lot as we tasted different types of oils and vinegars. They also had a snack spread for us using oils and other condiments from the store. The artichoke pesto dip is a must make! And also bloom orange olive oil brownies. All in all a fun night and my friends learned something new!

Ten years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would go olive oil tasting with her for her birthday. I was like, "Wow, that sounds kind of weird. Of course, I'm in." At the time, More Than Olives was located in El Dorado Hills. I don't remember the exact menu, but I do remember there being bread, salami, oil, vinegar, and more. My life was changed that day. I was now hooked on artisan olive oils and vinegars forever, and there was no going back. We each left the store with our very first sets of six small bottles. A new passion was born. In 2013, More Than Olives was moved from their old location in El Dorado Hills to their new location at 713 Sutter Street. I seriously can't believe that this shop only has 5 reviews so far! They are comparable with my favorite artisan oil and vinegar shop in Old Sacramento, which currently has 110 reviews on Yelp! Anyway, I love their oils and vinegars, but they also carry all kinds of other artisan products, such as dishes, cutting boards, cheeses, salamis, and loads of condiments. It's a great place to find a unique gift. Staff is incredibly friendly, and is usually able to offer a sample of just about anything in the store. My favorite product that I've recently sampled was an alcohol-infused hot fudge sauce. Sometimes, they offer samples of items that they've cooked up using store products as ingredients. My daughter became so obsessed with their blood orange olive oil brownie samples that I ended up having to buy that oil so that we could make some ourselves. No regrets, of course. In fact, I recommend trying this at home. A few weeks ago, I was walking up Sutter Street on a particularly hot day, when I noticed a sign that said "free pink lemonade samples." On this day, somehow, I had forgotten my water bottle, so I was immediately drawn in by this offer. The lemonade was so amazing. The woman behind the counter told me to take a few cups worth if I wanted. She said, "It's hot out, and we have plenty!" Totally made my day. This is one of the best artisan shops on Sutter Street. They have great products, friendly staff, and over-the-top service. I highly recommend checking them out.

Sutter Street has the nicest little Sunday Street Market and owners of 'More Than Olives' have a tent to showcase their wonderful balsamic and olive oil flavors for tastings, along with a sampling Recipe using their products. The great thing about their shop is, if you purchase any flavor of Olive Oil and/or Balsamic, you are provided with instructions to clean your jar when empty and bring it back in to refill @ a discount. Highly recommend.

I love the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and seasoning salts at More Than Olives. The tasting bar is a lovely experience. I use the products daily. So good.

I remember visiting Fork Lift like 10 years ago and really liking it - it is a sister store of Nugget Market I believe. The inside was massive, clean and well organized. My husband and I wanted to buy one of everything! Their produce section had every fruit and vegetable imaginable - it was also very visually aesthetically pleasing! I loved seeing their bulk spices, nuts, teas and candy options! Their butcher shop and fish section looked very fresh and can we talk about their massive cheese selections!? I was very impressed and they even had my favorite coffee for sale which is hard to find - the Blue Bottle Nola milk cartons. Overall, this would be my grocer of choice if we lived in the area - check out staff was also very friendly! Check them out!

Brought to you by the family-owned, upscale and very successful, Nugget chain of grocery stores. I became very well acquainted with the Nugget markets living in Davis. There were two stores not far from each other and they were always packed. I shopped at the smaller one as it was closer to my home. It is literally the only place I ever shopped for food.I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else. When I moved to El Dorado Hills 5 years ago... thank goodness there was a big and beautiful Nugget a mile and half away. My point is all Nugget markets are quite incredible. Nothing compares to them. Excellent quality, in-house prepared food, bakery... TDF, floral, meat department, liquor, and fabulous fresh produce section. Fork Lift is to me like the Nugget markets on steroids! I was astonished at the size of the store and cool inside architectural design. Yes it is hip! Super clean, well stocked in everything. Organized. Quite impressive. And the same great departments as I mentioned above that are available in the Nugget stores are right here too! The chatter is that the Fork Lift offers many discounted prices but honestly, I never see them. Then I heard the lower priced items are strategically placed in and around the store. Who knows. I enjoy taking the drive up the hill to Cameron Park occasionally just to wander around and marvel at this shopping mecca! Easy exit off the freeway and fast to find. Plenty of parking. Worth checking out if you are in the area or on the way to or returning from Tahoe. Did I mention super duper customer service!?! And weekly specials! Geez... a girl cannot remember everything.:) Here is to good eating!

I loved Melissa's personality and she was so sweet and patient to answer any questions we had. They always have chocolate samples and she even offered me a sample of the 3 wine slushie flavors they had. I tried the lavendar chocolate and the pink barbie rosé slushie, blue hawaian chardonnay slushie, and chocolate (I think red blend based) mint slushie. All were so nice and refreshing on a warm almost summer day. Melissa also showed us all the different flights and pairings they do and how she came to work there and her experience there. I loved her back story and her passion for the business. As for the ambiance, there is a small area to sit inside with some chairs and tables and even more comfy cushiony options and also an outdoor patio where you can enjoy people watching outside and live music nearby on Friday nights (when weather is nice) I definitely wanna return and get the full experience, but from those 10 minutes of being there - I know what a great spot it is. Definitely go check it out.

As of 11/19/25, which is early season, you can buy a 4 lb bag for $10. While I was there, one farmer was sorting the oranges out by size. Apparently, the medium ones are the most popular. You could buy small ones for $1.50 per pound. Mandarins were attractive and juicy. Update: It's the sweetest and easiest to peel of the three different bags I bought on 11/19/25. Blue Goose Produce is associated with Westview Growers. If I remember correctly, there are 1500 mandarin orange trees in their orchards, so you can buy mandarins there until April! Farmers are friendly and informative to chat with. In October 2025, I believe I spoke with the owner Mark about the Blue Goose decor. One antiquities specialist soon found him a large metallic goose after he requested it. He painted it dark blue himself. This goose gets outfit changes to match the holiday! His family has been collecting blue goose decor over many years, which you can find throughout the store. I learned that a female goose can just be called a goose. A male goose is a gander, and Gander Taphouse is in the same plaza. Yesterday I learned that mandarin oranges taste better a day or longer after they have been picked. It takes time for them to sweeten. You can find a variety of local farm goods here, such as honey, scented candles, Earth & Vine products, local Newcastle Mandarin Ranch products, and Petaluma Creamery cheeses. You can buy pies here. I might call ahead to ask about available flavors. You can find limited produce here. I've bought a large tomato, finger grapes, and a ruby grapefruit here. Fuyu and Hachiya Persimmons are currently in season and look beautiful. Prices resemble that of a farmers market. If you like to support local farms, please stop by Blue Goose Produce.

I've been shopping here for a couple of years. There's another grocery store that's five minutes from my house, but I drive the 20 minutes to shop here because the overall experience is so much better. Today's trip really stood out to me because of a couple things... while I was at the deli waiting for the clerk to work on my order, at least three other employees came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I've been to other stores where I've stood at a counter for literally 5 minutes, watching employees going out of their way to not acknowledge me. That never happens here. Then I was really taken aback by how the peppers and mushrooms were displayed. The salad selection is some of the best I've seen anywhere, although they are very pricey at about $10/8oz (which is why I haven't actually tried one). I came here in search of some tampons that I couldn't find at Target, and was thrilled that this store carried small boxes of single sizes, versus the huge multipacks they had at Target.
