I'm disappointed. It's almost close to noon and the fresh, charred smoke coming from the grill invited me to stop and buy goodies here. Bought a $20 Sinaloa whole chicken anticipating a moist, juicy chicken but alas, it was very dry. A very nice cashier told me to wait 10 min, with me anticipating the freshly grilled chicken from the grill outside. However, what was provided in the bag almost tasted like a day old chicken? They also added two very dry corn on the cob. Very disappointed but will give them another try to see if they improve as I like to support small vendors. Unfortunately, Pollo Loco is much better compared to this grilled chicken I received today. read more

The tacos are absolute fire! As authentic as you can get! Love this place, have been here once a week since discovering it

What a hidden gem this place is. Fresh home made tortillas, fresh salsa and guacamole. Today they had an Elote cart right in front and sometimes they'll have a taco cart in front with everything fresh made in-house. A wide variety of Mexican spices and fresh produce. And its ran by a wonderful family to top it all off. I have a great experience with the staff here, not sure why the negative comments but some people are hard to please and look for trouble instead for a good experience. The store is well kept and clean. Go get all your Mexican food cravings all in one spot. read more

I had a wonderful experience here! We got a few dishes for my MIL 60th birthday so we got some marinated chicken and cooked rice and beans. They were very helpful and gave us delicious food. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Was so excited to have discovered a store nearby with sweet bread and fresh tamales. I ordered three tamales. 2 Cheese with jalapeños and 1 pork tamale, and a variety of sweet bread. A huge disappointment. The masa was overly thick and bland with no salt or seasonings. The "cheese" consisted of a thin smear of something orange. Definitely did not taste like cheese. My husband is a big eater and didn't finish his pork tamale. Was hoping the sweet breads would save the day. No such luck. The bread had the dry texture of day old bread and a weird after taste. It was so bad, it's almost unbelievable. See for yourself. I'm not exaggerating. read more

They have amazing Mexican bread (pan dulce) and a great variety of Mexican meats and cheeses and tortillas and salsas, the list goes on and on. Service is not very good, employees aren't friendly and make it uncomfortable to shop there. Fresh fruit doesn't look very appealing.

I stop by this market 2-3 times a month and we usually buy Walnuts, grapes, peaches, watermelon, veggies etc This place "Daylight" is located in the shopping center by Kohls & Burlington off Greenback & San Juan in Citrus Heights. Everything in the store is arranged neatly and the prices are written on a tag below the produce. My shopping experience has been great at Daylight with no issues. Their fruits + veggies are fresh and very delicious. If you crave a good quality fruit or veggie then you should stop by and check them out. I recommend this place and I rate it at 5 Stars. I used to go to this store regularly I live close by it was my go to when i needed some fresh veggies but I am never going back again to this place and I hope the owner gives some training to some of his rude employees specially to Juan Carlos today I asked my husband if he could pick up some plátanos and crema and he walked there with our son and my cousin when he proceeded to pay the cashier Juan Carlos spoke to him in Spanish the whole time (which is fine, because my husband is learning) so he got a little confused and my cousin told him hey he only speaks English and my husband then told him in Spanish "pero estoy tratando de aprender" en then this person rudely asked my husband how old he was and my husband told him his age and he said "you are too old, you are NOT going to learn Spanish" and how ignorant of you to tell someone they are not able to learn something new Juan Carlos it doesn't matter how old people are we never stop learning and I guess you learned today about what an &$hole you are. So sad to see the Latino community fighting against racism and no one talks about how much some Hispanic people hate on white people and I have seen it a lot in my community and heard stupid comments about my husband like the one from this cashier! This store is so convenient. I come here pretty frequently for produce. Their fruits and veggies are extra fresh. The only downfall is that a lot of times they have rotting produce but i guess thats what you can expect when its fresh. They are extremely affordable and even sell meats too. Many times they even sell tamales too :) read more

This Place Is Awesome! My Husbands & My First Visit and They Have really really good prices and you can tell most of the produce looks like it was just pulled off the tree which is good. It was a horrible place. All herbs and veggies were moldy. In the ad it was a cheaper price but in the store everything was different. The sweet lemon we saw in the ad was gone when we asked were is your sweet lemons they said that they were gone. Ad was or jan. 1 2017 we were there jan. 4 2017. im never going back. read more
