When you go to a physical therapist, you expect more than what you can find with a quick internet search. My experience with More Physical Therapy (North San Jose branch) made me want More (get it?) than I received. I went in for tibial tendon injuries in both feet/ankles. I get a printout of exercises to do...and that's about it. That happened with repeated visits. I could have saved gas money and my time by just going online to find the same exercises. They have too many patients and not enough time for each patient, which is why I guess they need to utilize this physical therapy philosophy. Maybe in the pre-internet era this would have worked. Now, it just seems lazy and a lack of caring for their patients. There's a reason why they are at a 3.7 yelp rating as of January 2026. You can do better than More Physical Therapy when you need physical therapy, and I sincerely hope that they do better for their patients in the future. read more

Physical therapy requires two people to get better, the physical therapist and you. I worked with Gary for a while now, and he knows how to treat your injuries not at the local level, but as a whole body. Does your foot hurt? He can find where it is stemming from and treat it accordingly. Gary's personality will motivate you and his knowledge is impeccable. Ron is great at managing this business and has great skills for TMJ patients as well as a long work history. As a veteran who has been dismissed by many doctors, it is finally great to be heard and treated. read more

I have written many positive reviews and this is my first negative one. Despite having plenty of bad experiences , I always sympathize with the owners and don't write it. My experience with MORE was so egregious and caused me actual physical harm that I have to share to protect other patients. DO NOT GO HERE they may have once been good but the office is a total mess and they blur the lines between who is an actual PT and not. I found out they has a totally unsupervised student working on me unsupervised. I asked the front desk if he was a real PT and they lied and said yes. When I pushed they said he graduated, and only after pushing again they admitted he just a student. They claim that training the student counts as overseeing him, but the person in charge of over seeing him never saw me, including at evaluations. This student assigned me new exercises that my other doctor believes prompted another flare up. When I confronted the manager he told me a son story about a lot of recent firings and this massive shortage for PTs It took my insurance one day to find Quinn PT which is almost across the street, way nicer facilities and actually fully staffed with real therapists It was so bad that my insurance is looking to their practice of billing PT appointments provided by student without informed consent of patient. They said they had like 2 real traveling PT and 1 PT assistant who I did like, snd there were way more people th. 3 being treated there every time Just find yourself a place thats fully staffed and fully functional- its your body, you cant afford to mess around read more

I've been coming to More Physical Therapy for a few months after my second shoulder surgery. I work a very physically demanding job that has wreaked havoc on my body. Past physical therapy has left me discouraged, in constant nagging pain, and lacking progress. A long recovery for me has meant negative physical changes and feelings of depression. I've learned just how much was lacking in my previous experiences after coming to More. Specifically, my PT Disha has been a revelation in my recovery. She has a positive and infections personality that makes it easy to come to each session ready to push myself. We laugh and joke through the hard work of rebuilding my body. Every session we work through joint manipulation, range of motion exercises, massage, ultrasound, ice, electrical stimulation, and a constant increasing array of strength exercises. Disha has been sensitive to my needs and limitations while also encouraging me to push myself. For the first time in 4-5 years dealing with this injury I have hope for a full recovery. This is thanks to Disha and her partnership in my recovery. I cannot recommend Disha and the rest of the staff at More Physical Therapy any more strongly. I've only been once so far (will probably have 6-8 more appointments at least), and thus far, the experience has been great. (if things go south, I will update my review). They seem to really have their act together - from the front office staff (appts & billing, super friendly) to the PT staff and assts. My PT guy spent a full 90 mins with me to get a full picture of the issues, check range of motion, and was able to quickly pinpoint problem areas and suggest not only home PT exercises but also other remedies that hopefully will help ease pain. After that, was cared for by an asst PT for 15-20 mins more, icing the aching parts. Walked out feeling great and felt like I have a logical plan toward full recovery. TY! read more

I started bringing my mother to this facility about a year ago to receive physical therapy after her hip replacement. Half a year later, I started to bring my mother in law here as well as she started having some issues with her left leg. It was here that I met Gary who provided a variety of exercises, massages, and techniques for both of them. He was also able to speak Mandarin, which was incredibly helpful since both my mother and mother in law spoke primarily Mandarin. We saw improvements in both my mother and mother in law, as they were both able to walk again without much pain. Both of them enjoyed it so much that they always looked forward to going for their weekly appointments with Gary! Gary, good work and service Ron, the owner of MORE , who has been running this facility for almost 40 years was also very helpful professionally for both of my moms. Additionally with that, I noticed that this boss has a warm and a great heart in providing an abundance of time, equipment, and space for his customers. I've been getting treated by Ron for the past 9 months and let me tell you, this man saved my life. Ron is the owner of More Physical Therapy and comes with over 35 years experience treating all types of injuries. Ron was the 3rd PT I had seen after suffering a traumatic injury. I had multi system injuries and doctors told me I am a complex chronic pain patient and will be in pain the rest of my life. I'm only 29 years old. The PT's before Ron couldn't figure out a treatment plan without injuring another part of my body (multiple injuries). With Ron's extensive background and expertise, he was able to put together a game plan to piece me back together. I was in here 4-5x a week and followed everything he said. He's going to push you when you need it and make sure you're following his program. And if you're not, he will know. You have to put the amount of effort into your recovery as he is for every session. No BS. Ron is very personable and was with me every step of the way. The good days and bad days. He has helped me physically and mentally get back to who I was before my accident. I cannot tell you what amazing quality of care I have gotten at More Physical Therapy. I would give it 5/5 stars or 10/10 rating and I rarely do that. I am devastated because my insurance ANTHEM (PPO)won't pay them their standard rate and as of this week my services have to end. I cannot afford the weekly cash pay rate. However, I am trying to figure out how to go back to them because they are that good. I have been going to see them and have seen multiple therapists since January. Gary is probably one of the most skilled in his entire profession. His manual techniques go right to the source to cure your pain. Dillon has taught me certain movements that I will use for the rest of my life. They actually are building muscles structure in my body to prevent the type of pain I was having. From the front office staff to all the physical therapist to all the assistants, everyone is so friendly ,welcoming and warm and they always have upbeat music playing in the background. On Friday 2/24/23, I called to make an appointment for PT. The receptionist was short-tempered, extremely rude, and ill-mannered. I tried to provide health care insurance information and/or insurance claim numbers, but was so incredible so surly that I just gave up. It was very frustrating, especially after look for pain relief. She was by far a bigger pain in the neck than the accident. read more

Since my original More place on Martin closed awhile back, I've been going here for my pt. This space is much larger and has a lot more trainers and equipment. The only downside is that the appointments are scheduled back to back to back and at times the poor physical therapists are triple booked. It's not their fault. Parking during certain times of the week can be tricky. The parking lot is small and there is parking on the side street, but that can fill up too. Bathrooms have showers which is great and lockers for your personal belongings. I've seen Martha and Gary and both are pretty awesome for working out the kinks. read more

I've been coming here since 2001 and Dr. Mark has become my go-to for all my co-workers as well. The assistants are very talented and attentive. I honestly don't have a favorite as they are both exceptional and have many years of experience. I also love the tie in with the physical therapy facility so you can do your exercises on-site. I also use the therapy side for my post orthopedic surgeries like my ruptured Achilles and my shoulder. It's nice to have all the service and staff in one place. This is my second round with MORE. Four years ago, the team here helped me repair my shoulder from skiing trauma. Was great for years. Got out of shape and found myself back here for a different shoulder injury from swimming. Both were probably also due to extended stress from business travel. This time around also began after my computer bag was stolen. Started using old bag and heavier replacement laptop. Led to bad behavior when traveling. Dr. John Tao, a highly recommended orthopedic doctor, recommended physical therapy and was happy to refer me to MORE when I mentioned the name. I went to MORE physical therapy 4 times after relocating (I was doing physical therapy for 2 months before at another place). I had a leg injury. The environment here is more sports-oriented, crowded and cramped. There could be around 30 people there with only a few therapists around (plus student aides). As someone who only gets a certain amount of PT visits a year with insurance, this place was a waste of my visits and time. I saw three therapists, and saw Joe twice. My last visit with Joe, he only spent 20 minutes working with me, showing me exercises I was already very familiar with (and I told him this). He didn't know my name or the type of injury I had and started talking about a different procedure I didn't have. He made rude, inappropriate comments about my outfit and lack of makeup. When I told him I wanted to spend the weekend resting, since walking was causing me a lot of pain, he mocked me and asked if I had hired a butler to do everything for me. He then began telling me personal details about another patient I had met the other day too. After he saw me, he simply told me "Okay, now use this space as your gym!" with no help from aides or exercise plan. Typically the therapist saw me for 30 minutes and then sent me off with an aide to do the exercises. Then, they ice and elevate you for 15 minutes, sometimes with the electric stimulation. One good thing is that I spoke with the supervisor of the center, since I was very surprised by Joe's behavior and disappointed in my treatment, and she seemed very understanding and listened to my experience. Still, I feel like people should know so I am writing this review! My advice for anyone with a serious injury who wants to actually improve is to find another place that works 1:1 with patients and is less conservative with their approach. Because the different between a bad physical therapy center and a good one, for me, was being able to walk or not. I saw a review on here recommended OPTM Physical Therapy, and then my surgeon recommended there as well. I visited their office is Saratoga 5 times and they were excellent. They work with you during your whole visit, and listen to your concerns and goals. They don't just stick you on the bike or on ice. Instead of being on crutches, I walked out of there with a slight limp and feeling great about my progress. read more

More's therapists really know what they're doing. I've been to several PT clinics in my time for various issues, and this is the only one whose therapy has resulted in lasting improvement/recovery. They are excellent at testing for strength, range of motion and flexibility and explaining the results in understandable terms (and they don't openly laugh at my occasional crackpot theories, even when I explain I printed my own medical degree in glitter ink on some Hello Kitty construction paper, which means I'm totally qualified to diagnose myself and reach ridiculous medical conclusions that have no basis in fact, science or reality). PT is hard work and sometimes it hurts, but the staff at More is patient and encouraging as they help you through your recovery. As noted elsewhere, your PT appointment is likely to be half manipulation by a therapist, and half working out on your own as the staff teaches you exercises and stretches to do there and at home to aid your rehab. Equipment is modern, techniques are current, appointments generally run on time, staff is friendly and professional. And their ice is really, really damn cold. read more

I've been practically living at MORE for six months (it'll be seven months before I "graduate" from physical therapy. There is little more you could ask for during rehabilitation process. Some pros: 1. These PTs are pros. They've rehab-ed some of the top Bay Area athletes and are athletically minded. 2. They believe that you are in control. Most of your workout will be alone. Guided, but alone. Aides are there to guide you, but they believe you can bring yourself back with guidance. 3. The equipment is top-notch, the PTs all have a masters or doctorate. They know what they're doing. 4. The receptionist are kind, involved and invested in you. Some cons: 1. You must ask for what you need. Not a problem for me, but if that's not your personality, you might want to know that in advance. 2. Getting with the therapist you want can be difficult in scheduling. I'd advise picking two therapists there and toggle between the two. 3. If you are not invested in your recovery, this place is not for you. This is the place for people who want to work hard, get motivated and get the hell out of there (which I guess is a good thing). read more

To me, the major downsides were: -You get very little time with the therapists because More seems to keep their appointments booked every half hour. -I believe their billing was not up front- before I started, I asked if they accepted my insurance and they mentioned several times that my insurance was really good and would cover many appointments- more than the typical 10 or so of most insurances". I did my prescribed stretch of ten appointments- lo and behold, get hit with a bill for $200+ a couple months later (I'd been to another PT since and was truly covered completely). If you go to More, ask them to put your estimated out of pocket costs in writing. read more

Been coming to More and working with Dean for two months. Recovering from ACL and meniscus surgery. In my former life as an 8 year minor leaguer, I had 5 surgeries and recovered with some of the best therapists in the world. My experience with Dean at More Physical Therapy has been top notch. The amount of one on one work is outstanding, the pt aides are knowledgeable and helpful and they have enough space to workout without feeling cramped (I've never had to wait to use equipment). They always have several therapists and aides happy to provide direction on proper exercise form. Aside from the therapy, the More team keeps a fun, lively atmosphere. I recommend trying your hand at towel toss basketball with Laura. Also, if you like to really have a good time, I recommend coming in on Country Friday when there are always great tunes on the radio and you might catch a "yeehaw" or a "howdy"....okay, no one had said that, yet... I'm thrilled to have found More Physical Therapy and look forward to completing my recovery with Dean and the More team. read more

I feel so taken care of whenever I go to More Physical Therapy! Jamie is the greatest and has been taking care of me with my gimpy right leg. It's all self induced dance injuries but I refuse to give up the things I love in life because of a silly strained leg and foot. Jamie understands this and has been working with me to strengthen my weak spots and reduce further injury and stress. When I go I usually work with her for about 20 minutes to half an hour doing stretches and having the angry spots poked and prodded. Afterwards she sends me off to do my exercises that she's assigned for me based on my issues. Then when I'm done I get set up with ice and whatever else I'm charged with for the day. My foot and leg get the proper care they need and it's my time to just focus on getting better. I'm usually there for an hour and a half but I always feel great by the time I'm done. read more

My therapist disappeared saying an assistant was going to come show me something. I waited for 30 minutes for the assistant. I didn't know who to talk to. There was no comfortable place to sit and wait for that period of time. I had a long drive ahead of me. So I left. Scrolling through the reviews, I see somebody else with a similar story, and then a lot of good reviews. So you can roll the dice and see if you're one of the lucky ones who gets treated well here. In my opinion, there's a lot of PT offices around the Bay Area. I'd choose someplace else if you have a choice. read more

Is awesome.... She's tough but knows I need to be pushed to my limits to achieve maximum benefit...and I am!! This past week Kelly was on vacation....and I saw "Kate" who is also an amazing therapist!! I was a little bit of a "Wendy Whiner" the week I saw Kate....so my apologies!! Now I would like to highlight MORE's outstanding PT Aides/Assistants!!! There is the ALWAYS smiling and knowledgeable "BRIAN"... makes me laugh...and feel special every visit! He truly loves what he does... And it shows!! Then, there is Lisa...she is also great at what she does ( I think she likes me because I laugh at her jokes...)but aside from fun...she is smart, knowledgeable and always helpful!! Call outs to Steven(X5 man!!) Erin, Chris and Karen!! each one of these people have outstanding professional, but friendly personalities...and always make the patients feel safe and comfortable. I came here for treating my disk herniation and while I was improving for 2 weeks my pain got worse than day 1 during one of my visits. My physical therapist was helpful but the problem here is that the therapists are not hands on. They rely on aides to show excersizes and perform procedures. These people are untrained and one of them injured my herniated disk further by incorrectly performing a traction procedure which increased my pain levels so much that I found myself in an ambulance a couple of days later. Please avoid this place and find a knowledgeable physical therapist who is also hands on or at least supervises while excersizes and procedures are being done. Also I later found that traction is a really old procedure and known to cause issues with a herniated disk. Physical Therapy has moved on to more advanced procedures like PEMF and SWD so this place is definitely not state of the art and use methods that may make things better or worse for you. Overall I think More is just operating like a franchise in San Jose that will be most likely to accept your insurance but least likely to cure you and I would avoid all locations and find a good local therapist. read more

I've been to More a few different times over the years after some surgeries and I've been to other PT places. When given the choice I will ALWAYS choose More. Ron runs a very tight ship and strives to make sure that you get the best possible treatment for your particular injury. At More there are a lot of clients and sometimes you need to flag down an assistant for your next exercise or when you are ready for ice and stim which can be a minor inconvenience. What you do get at More is a through evaluation with multiple measurements including strength, you get a therapist that works on you for more than 5-10 minutes and you don't get rushed out the door. You are given the time and resources to perform a wide variety of exercises. At the end of the day you aren't expected to be in and out the door in an hour, if you have the opportunity go to More and get treated the right way the first time. read more

The facility was nice and the employees were alright. However, other than my first visit, I never felt like I was given any special attention. Pretty much just meet with the PT and then do your exercises. Doesn't matter if you're not 100% sure what to do, because no one will sit there to help you make sure you are. That wasn't the part that made me want to leave this review. I wasn't ready to pay my full balance right away, so they said they'd send me a bill. The bill shows up and there's already a finance charge on it. Ummm, my bill isn't months overdue, why the hell is there already a finance charge? I will pay my bill off 50 cents at a time if I have to just to give you as little of my money at a time as possible. If you're in need of good physical therapy and don't want to be charged erroneous fees on the side, definitely avoid this place. Looks like I'll be finding a new physical therapist. read more

MORE Physical Therapy is FANTASTIC!! I came in with a nasty knee injury with multiple things going on from running, and they fixed me up better than new. I could barely walk into my first appointment, and six weeks later I successfully ran Mt Diablo 50K and placed 2nd in my age group! Beyond the physical therapy part, they gave me an education...how to change my running form to avoid future injuries, how to stretch properly, and how to incorporate strengthening exercises into my daily routine. I had to face facts...I can't just lace up and go...I have to take care of myself so that I can have a lifetime of running, and that lesson is priceless. I did not have a good experience at MORE Physical Therapy. I went in after a chronic back issue did not completely go away. My pain actually got worst after 5 visits. I was also never explained how the check in process works. You sign in and go to the back and find an empty table and wait for the PT? That is just weird. Supposedly there were lockers for your belongings which I was not told and I got scolded for picking up my purse the wrong way! The PT never really told me what he was doing during treatment or what I should be working on at home. Everything seemed very vague and random. I quit, went to see my chiropractor and my back pain is now gone. read more

When I called, the secretaries were very rude and passed me around. They all kept repeating that they do not take my insurance. I called my insurance to make sure and they said that I was correct. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!!! I was a cash patient because my insurance wanted me to travel 30 miles for physical therapy. I figured it was best to stay close to work and pay out of pocket than miss time for work, which would discourage me from return visits and completing therapy. My experience was great, until... SIX MONTHS AFTER MY LAST VISIT I received correspondence from Alyce in billing who said I didn't pay for my last visit. I had literally thrown out all of my receipts like a week prior. When I pressed her for the details about my last visit, including why it took SIX MONTHS to claim non-payment, she twice commented on how "you arrived 15 minutes late to your appointment." Like that had anything to do with the supposed non-payment. First, the visit was six months ago and I did not appreciate the "shake down" so long after the fact. What really rubbed me the wrong way was Alyce nagging me about "you arrived 15 minutes late to your appointment." Those are her exact words, like she is my teacher and I am some schoolchild. When I was a patient I would often call in and ask how busy they were because sometimes I would wait 15-30 min. for my appointment. My office is five minutes away so I was flexible with my start time. Also, I would sometimes be doing my exercises in the back before my appointment so if the therapist didn't see me, they might think I hadn't arrived yet. Maybe I was late, or maybe I had called in or I was in the back. Either way I don't see how this had anything to do with my supposed non-payment. This experience with Alyce ruined my experience with MORE and I would strongly recommend that you keep your receipts if you are a cash patient because dealing with her is like dealing with a constipated grandmother. read more
