I've been going regularly for a year to address congenital issues with my hip. So, I want to talk about a different kind of support offered by the amazing, talented healers at Balanced Flow Wellness. I lost my beloved, 17-year-old, soul cat, and in spite of his age, his passing was totally unexpected and shocking. I didn't know what to do or who to call--only that I felt like this massive ball of agony that everyone could see, I was in dire need of *something*, even if relief wasn't really possible. I sent an email, explaining what had happened, and asking to come in that day, for what, I wasn't sure. I just knew I needed help, and wasn't sure where else to turn. They fit me in for a wellness visit, no questions asked, and when I arrived, greeted me with so much love and warmth and compassion. They had an exam room waiting for me, so I would have privacy to cry, and did some acupuncture to help me relax. They told me to come back anytime, even if I just wanted to hang out and be around people. I went back again two days later, and Dr. Lee researched and found an acupuncture protocol for grief, while Dr. Hertzberg gave me soft-tissue therapy which made me feel like she was literally pouring her love into me. On Saturday, when I came for my regular appointment, Ali gave me an hour of the most beautiful shiatsu massage therapy, even though I cried the whole time. I could never have gotten through this week without the beautiful compassionate support and care I received from the team at Balanced Flow. I also see Mary Thate for massages each week--she will beat you up and you will definitely be sore after the first visit or two, but she also really knows her stuff and does a great job. Despite promises, no care plan was ever created. I never met the doctor, CNA, or lead nurse, and repeated requests for communication were ignored. My mother developed a UTI that went undiagnosed for weeks until I demanded testing -- after which she improved drastically. Staff blamed her behavior on dementia instead of doing their job. Worse, Oasis kept her heavily sedated without my knowledge or consent. One nurse falsely accused her of swinging -- then retracted it when I challenged her. Only one nurse, Ms. Latrice, showed professionalism and followed up. The rest? All talk, no care. This isn't a place of compassion -- it's a cold, careless business. I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstance.

I say can with certainty that Dr. Hidaka's approach is unlike any other physician I've encountered. I feel as if he's an old friend who just happens to be a respected and accomplished physician.
