Start things off with a refreshing Stiltsville Special Rum Punch or a tasty Junipa Colada, a bubbly pineapple soda with Spiced Rum. Then dive into a delicious plate of Mariquitos Nachos, a classic plate of Arroz con Pollo, or the amazing Lechon Asado (tender roast pork marinated with onions). If you're dining with friends, order a few dishes and pass them around -- most are big enough to share. Service was outstanding on both our visits here, and ample parking is available in the Apex decks. A fantastic addition to the SouthPark dining scene, Calle Sol is one spot I hope stays around for a long time.

We went on Monday, not a busy day in the middle of the afternoon however our server gave us some the best experience. He was very knowledgeable about all the items. He made great suggestions and was attentive. Our only complaint was the yuca. It was very bland. Flavorless. Everything else was very flavorful. The beef you could tell was marinated as well as tender. It just fell apart with the pull of a fork. The Cubano was great as well. I had the Tampa cubano that added the salami. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. We love that there was a variety of items to choose from .

After one meal here, we understood why. Calle Sol has a cool laid back vibe, great service, strong mojitos, and food that absolutely delivers. The ceviche is the star for a reason. Super fresh with bright flavor, and the crispy plantains alongside it were the perfect seafood fish combo. The skinny spicy margarita with the tajín rim and mojitos were excellent too. Our favorite was the Cuban rice. Rich flavor with this aioli on top that made everyone at the table keep stealing bites from each other. The vaca frita (beef) had great flavor with crispy edges done right, and the banana tres leches dessert was flat out dangerous. Easily enough for three people unless your family has zero self control. We don't really have Cuban food like this back home, so this felt like a treat. Safe to say our daughter picked a winner. We'll definitely be back next trip to Charlotte.

We love their Yuquitas de Queso as an appetizer. The yucca is very crispy, with delicious melted cheese inside. The green sauce they serve it with is exceptional, and we use it with our entrees, too. Sadly, this dish wasn't available on our last visit, so we switched it up and tried their black bean soup and half avocado stuffed with chicken. Both were delicious, so I'm glad we had an opportunity to branch out a bit. For our entrees, we typically get the Vaca Frita and Lechon Asado. Both meats are always tender, flavorful, and NOT overly salty (yay!). The Vaca Frita is particularly good, with crispy beef served on top of caramelized onions. The lime flavor is amazing in this dish. The rice and beans are perfect accompaniments to both dishes. Their portions are generous, and we usually take some of our meals home. We've always had great service at Calle Sol. We never have to wait long for our food, either. I like how the servers work to help each other out when busy! A note about parking--there are only a few spots directly in front of the restaurant, so you'll be lucky to get one of them. There's a public parking lot just down the street on Thomas (across from Dish), and street parking throughout Plaza Midwood. We often park on the street near Harris Teeter and Supperland, a quick walk to Calle Sol. Just give yourself extra time to find a parking spot if you arrive during busier dining hours. Well can't wait to return!

This is the second time in a row that I've used it and it is very well maintained. It's large, clean and odorless. The prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are just right, and the servers are attentive and friendly. A great experience!!

When I initially visited (in their first couple of months after opening) I was super in love with this place. Unfortunately every experience after that has been super inconsistent. I've ordered their seafood sancocho three times and every single time I've gotten a different dish. The last time I ordered it - it was more so vegetables with 2 teaspoons of broth, some rice and old fried yucca. If you look at the photo - I believe you can tell the yucca looks like it'd been in the fridge for days and they just threw it in there for good measure. The waiter didn't smile and generally looked miserable to have to deal with me. I asked for hot sauce that never came. Just overall, really disappointed in my last experience here and unfortunately won't be retuning due to how inconsistent my last few visits have been. You might get something that tastes decent, you might not.

I've been meaning to come try the food and finally got the chance recently. The vibes and aesthetics are top tier here - my kind of place! The "sound bar" aspect is a little bit of a gimmick but I'm into it lol. It's just a vibey place for drinks and small plates that happens to play mood music. Food - pretty good! Kinda overpriced lol. It's the perfect spot for date night or quiet night to eat by yourself. The service is nice and quick with the plates coming out quick after each other. We started with French 75 - they were a little tart / stronger than expected . The first plate to come out was the Duck Confit Taco- nothing really to grab my attention; the larger pieces of Duck on top were cold however it had chunks of Duck within the taco. Next few plates were the Sea Scallops and Firecracker shrimp - they were our favorite of the night ! 10/10 for both dishes ; seasoned really well and the flavor on the rice was so tasty as well as the scallops cooked perfectly. The crispy firecracker shrimp were a great size and plenty to share . The Crab Spring Roll and Crab Burrito - the burrito was our least favorite with no true flavor to it. The crab spring roll had a really great crispy wrap , the interior of it reminded me of crab Rangoon mix which was different. Overall decent experience with a few highlights of the night ! I would come and visit again to try the different seasonal items that come on the menu next!
