My wife and I went there for a steak dinner a few weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised with the place. After being greeted and seated at our table, in our comfortable booth, we were given menus with a smile and then left to decide on our meal. I ordered the T-Bone and my wife had the Prime Rump. Both arrived within 20 minutes , cooked to our preferences ( We were asked by our server when ordering ). with ample baked vegetables and our sauce of choice All I can say is , for what I thought was going to be just OK, I was happily surprised. I will definitely be returning there again Meal Cost for 2 = just over $50.00 Drinks x 4 ( including 2 soft drinks ) = $25 Tip:- We arrived at 5.30pm and still had plenty of room to get a booth to ourselves. It would pay to book in advance if you wanted a booth later in the evening.

The Gaythorne RSL is the go-to place for a filling and awesome dinner for my family. It's our…read morestaple location when we want to go out with friends for a casual dinner. Not only is it a popular local venue for young and old alike, it's actually one of the greatest places to go when you want a massive range of menu options at great concessions. You can grab a well-cooked steak, a fantastic pasta dish, a piping hot pizza or, my favourite, a divine tasting chicken schnitzel and then get dessert for a song. Did I mention the dessert was pancakes? These pancakes are hugely filling puffy dreams that become all the more dreamy with ice cream and syrup. Saving room for them is the best advice I can give because these bad boys will stretch your stomach something chronic. Just make sure you're wearing your baggy pants. I'm also not jesting when I say there is something for the young and the old. For the more mature generations there is dancing, raffles, and your classic pokies, and there is even a courtesy bus outside waiting to transport people around. For the young, this is a great venue for a beer and a laugh, a fantastic meal, live music, and a chance to have a round of pool. Become a member to sign in with ease and rack up points in a benefit system. As far as RSLs go in general, I've never been too much of a fan (they make me nervous for some reason? Go figure), but I enjoy and even look forward to the nights where we can tear our way through a huge meal and those delicious pancakes. This RSL is managed really well and there is always music or a raffle or an event going on. They always have news, social events, or events to benefit members. So go in for the food and enjoy the best of a local RSL. By the way, they have no set opening hours and say they are always open. Brilliant!

I love the menu, the vegetarian options are actually the best, they are even really cool about altering food to make it vegetarian for me, one of the only places that happily does it. They give us free garlic bread and the drinks are the cheapest I've ever seen, went there yesterday with a party of about 15, everything was awesome as always. It really is sort of like a family here, they have birthday competitions, which are always fun. I will be a constant customer here for as long as I live in Brisbane.

The room is comfortable and quiet. Food is good quality and well presented. The steak was over done but tasty and the salad okay.. Wait staff friendly and helpful . Clean and well designed. Why the three , well, just not as helpful with the cash only thing and the bar making my life harder by telling me to go to the public bar to buy a cocktail or a jug. A bistro should be capable of serving specialist drinks and larger quantities so this sucks . They need to think smart and serve as required. The bar person seemed startled to serve a beer and lost with a diet coke. They need to wake up to themselves .

A young woman greeted us at the service desk and presented us with seats outside, we looked out at the bay admiring the lights of the hornibrook bridge and further along to kipparing and woody point. All and all I had enjoyable night with my partner and I will be back to visit soon.

We decided that a great way to spend the end of the first day of 2014 was sharing some fish and…read morechips by the seaside close to home. We settled on either Sandgate or Shorncliffe but as we passed the local fish and chip shops we were put off by the 10 deep queues. We noticed the Full Moon Hotel, which is neslted along the beach road, high on a cliff overlooking the water and bushland. We were lucky enough to snag a table with a view, although the table wasn't clean it seemed a better prospect than being sandwiched amongst the other diners without a view. The tables are set very close together to the point where I can tell you the business of all the diners who sat near us. The menu is a little expensive for what I would consider to be bistro style food. We settled on the beer battered Fish and Chips for twenty-one bucks a plate. It was well presented and tasted fresh but it didn't stand out from any other fish and chip plate I have had in the past. The customer service was friendly but in a superficial kind of way, I didn't feel like my experience was really all that important to them. It was nice to be able to walk off the stodgy fish and chips along the boardwalk afterwards. Good option if all the fish and chip shops are closed or too busy.

Taking advantage of a voucher, we wandered over for brunch to the Lagoon Coffee Lounge. Nice spot…read morewith a good view of the central lagoon. Staff seemed very quiet and preferred to stay in the kitchen. I chose the Spanish Eggs and my friend chose the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Sadly, neither were inspiring when they reached the table. I have never seen eggs benedict served on a bread roll and the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was from a jar despite a large serving of it. Spanish Eggs are traditionally served in a clay pot or bowl, with the tomato & bean mixture on the base with the eggs cracked into it and baked in the oven. Not this version - poached eggs on the side, with the tomato, caper & olive mixture in a separate serving bowl. However, the toasted turkish bread was tasty and plentiful. Coffee was ok and I can see this place being popular during the week with local workers. Maybe I am just over cafes all serving the same dishes with the same outcomes. When was the last time we went to a cafe who served freshly made hollandaise sauce or had items on the menu that truly reflected their style & background?? One last thing, if you are going to have pop/rock photos on the walls - can you please play some music to reflect your design? I would probably go again, but not for a while.

Surprisingly, right outside our gate was the Priority Pass restaurant. Normally, we would be situated in a lounge but because there was no dedicated lounge, I guess we got a chance to spend some money at this designated restaurant. Each person who carries a priority pass (and those who have guest passes) can spend AUD$36 per person at the restaurant. This was more than enough to cover the cost of food and drinks here at Graze. Graze has actually a decent menu. At first glance it looks like just a pastry and coffee shop but they have an all day breakfast menu and a pretty substantial lunch/dinner menu as well. We went with the fried Barramundi burger with fries which was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The tacos are meh and really you should pass on those (the shell is hard and stale and just not pleasant). Otherwise they had great drinks (milkshakes, coffee, tea, alcohol... whatever you like) and good food. Worth the stop especially if you have priority pass. Be sure to have your card (physical or phone card) available for them to scan!
