I'm happy to report, the food here was superb. However, as we mingled outside for some pre-dinner drinks, I noticed a blanket carefully placed on each chair. I didn't think too much of it until the temperature dropped by 20 degrees while we were enjoying our meal. Everyone bundled up and used the blankets to avoid freezing to death. The one thing that none of us liked, were the potatoes and mini-zucchini, which tasted like something mixed with cinnamon and nuts...no idea how to describe that. Might have been a special menu, but it was a weird combination. The ravioli with goatcheese and herbs was fantastic, but I couldnt finish it (Isnt that what youre always suppose to do when dining in a fancy restaurant?!). I only have one word for the Chili Chocolate dessert with caramelised pineapple: Delicious! Again, something youve probably never tasted before.. This was an incredibly expensive night, but worth every penny!! He's so attentive to his customers and makes a huge effort to entertain the entire restaurant. We got several free shots of alcohol and the entire restaurant toasts together. The atmosphere is cozy, festive, and lively. There was even a traditional guitar singer that serenaded us twice in the night. My favorite part of my four course meal was the parrot fish and the crème brûlée-like dessert. I'm not sure what it was, but it was GOOD. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which was 22 euros a bottle. I'd say the style of the food was Portuguese fusion. The fun part is that the chef decides what you will eat so you don't have to order your food. The fish that he served us was extremely fresh. I think this is a great place to go with some friends or to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday. At the end of the meal, the owner also gives the ladies a single rose. :) Four solid stars for the food, and 7 stars for the service. I'll most likely be back!

Situated well on the Stilwerk side of the street it's view across the Große Elbstrasse flows right out onto the river. On bad weather days sitting inside is a pleasure with high bench seats that leave even the tallest with their legs dangling. On good weather days there are tables and seating out on the wide footpath. I might add that outside is not ideal. Due to the heavy movement of traffic and also the cobblestones you will have trouble having a normal conversation with your dining partners. So to the food! I pretty much have only eaten pizza here. And what for a pizza. Freshly baked with thin base and fluffy edges. A fantastic combination with salami and chilli peppers. I think there are around 4-6 different pizzas all not really overloaded but still tasty. All for the princely sum of 6 Euro's. The service is good and only really slowed down by the small kitchen. I believe they can only bake 2 pizza's at a time. Although last time I had the impression they invested in another oven. We must not forget this is a cafe really.
