Very strange shop.. I went into this place to see how much it would be for a repair to the back lift gate on my 24 Honda. It's a pretty sizable dent and my PDR guy didn't want to touch it. I show up and the first guy goes out and looks at it. We go back inside and he gets gramps to look at it. We walk outside and first thing that comes out of gramp's mouth... "ahhhhhhh, that's aluminum". I know it's not but I'll just let the old man play his game. He proceeds to get a magnet and lo and behold... it sticks. He then attempts to tell me how the paint is specific. The paint code is B-638p. You talk it up all you want... paint code, is a paint code, it's a paint code. He then tells me that we can paint the bottom half and that will save me some money. We all walk in and they give me some "napkin" verbalized ridiculous estimate of $2500.00. I explain to them that I there are four wrecked ones in the state of New York and I'll just go pick up a non-damaged lift gate and install it myself. Ready for this? Ol' man gramps then tells me that Honda will need to "reprogram" the car. I laugh and tell him that there aren't any computers in the back of the car. He responds, "anytime you unplug anything, you have to have it reprogrammed". Weird, I literally just changed the battery and upgraded the alternator less than 7 days ago. As an insurance claims professional, and one of the top catastrophic insurance claims adjusters in the country that handles 1000s of litigated claims per year, these antics and practices is what kills the entire business. I just spoke last year for the state of Florida regarding these same practices in both the personal lines and automotive industry. Just got my Tesla S back from Moppert Brothers yesterday. I couldn't be more pleased with the repair. The repair is seamless and my Tesla looks like new (Better than new as we know that Tesla is notorious for panels that don't fit well and the bumper now fits better that when new. Many thanks to Eric, who gave me timely updates to the progress of the repair. Tesla parts can be slow to arrive and Eric stayed on top of things with my insurance as well, to ensure things went smoothly. What is also a real benefit is that Moppert is almost next door to an Enterprise Rent a Car. It was so convenient to drop a car off for repair and pick up a rental without the hassle of needing a ride to get from point A to B. . Enterprise even offered to pick up the rental from Moppert after the repair was completed. Took my BMW there for paint work and touch up. I was sold a bill of goods by Eric Ross the GM. He completely lied to me about what his shop would do to improve the exterior of my car. When I got my car back I had the wrong color paint on the hood and trunk, obvious white spots which were not touched and painted. I did not see any clear coat and to top it off they didnt even spray the car they used a brush and the brush strokes were quite visible and the inside of my car smelled like someone had been smoking in it. All of this was totally unexceptable mind you I have a BMW not a Ford Pinto. Then when I spoke to the owner Stephan he was rude, obnoxious and unprofessional, even justified the shoddy work they did. Scheduled our car for a minor repair....small dent in door. We were told to bring our car in Monday morning, so we did that. Asked when it would be ready and we were told to call the next day. So, we called the next day and "no one was available to talk to us." Same story the next day. Finally, we got someone on the phone Friday who said " we got your car on the lift today and you can get it next Wed. ". Apparently, the guy who does painting wasn't going to be in till next Mon. WHY DID WE HAVE TO BRING OUR CAR IN MONDAY WHEN THEY WEREN'T EVEN GOING TO TOUCH IT TILL FRIDAY? Seriously, the work was ok, very expensive, and we were without a car for 10 days for no real reason. I would suggest looking elsewhere for repairs unless you don't mind leaving your car for an extended period of time, being inconvenienced, kept in the dark, and overcharged. read more

Katie or whoever I was just on the phone with to see repair estimate/collision questions was the most condescending person I have talked to, extremely argumentative, laughing, interrupting, etc. the man I talked to previously was the fact opposite and very nice/helpful. Brought my vintage Alfa Romero Spider in for new badging. Asked about an under hood paint. They said they can do the spray for about $500 but suggested not doing it since the car has original patina. Went with their advice. Will certainly be a repeat customer. read more

As stated in another review, working in a rush will be their undoing. I took my one year old Tesla here for hail damage, as the shop appeared highly rated and was Tesla certified. It started as a great experience. I could not say nicer things about Alecia . But when the work was completed poorly, and in a manner not preapproved or preauthorized by my insurance company, despite Steves reassurances that he was in touch with them, they did none of of the paint less dent repair that was indicated in the estimate, resulting in a lot of otherwise avoidable paint work that was executed poorly. Steve was furious that I had contacted my insurance company to let them know that I had to take the car back. And screamed at my wife when my wife when she went to pick it up since we were told the work was finished. He refused to release the car then, saying Progressive had not paid the additional amount (almost twice the amount of $6500 that was approved and prepaid to them by Progressive....We finally got the car back and it looks like hell. So I am having to pursue a remedy through Tesla Inc. read more

Needed to have my 2018 Tesla Model 3 repaired after the unattended car was backed into on a parking lot. Luckily, the car alarm sent an alert to my phone and when I showed up on the lot police were already on the scene having actually witnessed the accident. Moppert Brothers is a Tesla Certified body shop and performed an excellent repair. They were also helpful navigating the insurance process. Very good customer service, too. read more

Brought my car their for repair after hitting a deer. Hood, light drivers side and grill damaged. Steve came out to look at it and says we will have to replace the hood, grill and fix the head light. Drop off the car and five days later they call say it all done. When I stopped into the shop pay my $100.00 deductible they gave me my keys and said have a nice day. When I got to my car the hood was raised above the drivers side fender and lower on the passenger side. Went in and had Steve look at it he says doesn't your car look beautiful, I said the hood is not aligned correctly and why would you tell me the car is all finished. Then he says I don't know maybe one of the hood shocks is not depressing all the way, I said then why didn't you replace them, he said I can't fix everything wrong with somebody's car you have to call your insurance company to get them replaced. He kept repeating him self, sounded like a babbling idiot! Called my insurance company, had to send out a claims manager to my house to take pictures of Moppert Brothers incompetent work. I took my car to another body shop to fix what they screwed up and found out the hood was bent underneath and the hood shock were damaged in the accident, that they never fixed. Friendly people and did a fantastic job fixing my rear bumper after being rear ended. I am very OCD when it comes to my car so I was super pissed to have damage done to it. I had my front bumper replaced here. A few weeks later, the side of the bumper started coming off, so I took it back and they fixed it. A few weeks later it came loose again! They put a clip on it and hopefully it is fixed now. I was disappointed that I had to go back twice for them to fix the bumper when it should have been right the first time. I had a awful experience trying to get my rear bumper repaired. I told them repeatedly that the insurance company of the person who collided with my car was going to pay for the deductible to replace my rear bumper, they heard nothing I said, they insisted that I pay my deductible and I would get refunded after both my insurance and the person who hit me insurance company said that they would take care of it. I could not even get a written estimate from them, all I got is the run around! This place is only interested in your money, not trying to care for the customer! I would NEVER take another vehicle here to be repaired, if they were the only one in the state! read more

Know two things if you are dealing with these crooks: (1) they are in the pocket of the insurance companies and they are definitely not on your side, I took my car there twice (I know I'm a moron for taking it there the 2nd time) and both times they fought me like cats and dogs trying to claim that the car was already damaged and that I rather than the insurance company had to pay for repairs, if there is any dispute, they will be on the side of the insurance company, they don't care a lick for you the consumer; (2) they will overcharge you, case in point they charged me $250 for one tire, no that's not to install it, balance it, align the car, etc., that's $250 just for a tire, the same tire I could have bought and had it installed at Pep Boys for around half the price. Steer clear of these crooks would be my advice. read more

Steve, the manager, is arrogant and rude, and the servce is horrible. Do not take your car here! They fixed the side of the car that had been scraped, but when I picked the car up I couldn't adjust the side mirrors. I politely told them about the problem and Steve started yelling: "we didn't touch the mirrors. It's not our problem. You have a warranty -- call the dealer, call your insurance company. It's not our fault. Couldn't be. It's impossible. You just don't understand how things work." I explained that the mirrors had been working properly when I brought the car in and that something had obviously happened to them while car was in the shop. Again, more yelling & denial by Steve for about 15 minutes, repeating the same thing at the top of his voice, on & on. Finally he says, "We'll fix it but you have to get your insurance company out here to give you an estimate." He slams the door and goes into the garage. Apparently, while he was busy screaming at me one of the mechanics took the door apart and found that the knob to adjust the mirrors had jammed. Steve reappears and tells me what the problem is and that it can be fixed in about 5 minutes. "Maybe one of the guys hit the knob accidently when he took the door off to repair it," he says. Then he immediately backtracks and starts saying, "or maybe it wasn't working when you brought it in, I don't know. You could have hit it during the accident." I explain that I wasn't in an accident -- someone side-swiped the car when it was parked in a parking lot and I was not in the car. The whole thing was unpleasant and time-consuming and could have been nicely resolved if Steve had simply said, let me take a look at it and see what the problem is and what we can do to fix it" instead of screaming and yelling at me. He would have seen that it was a simple problem that could be easily fixed in less than 5 minutes. Will never use them again. read more

I have used Moppert Brothers twice now and have been thrilled with their work both times. I was recently rear ended and needed extensive repair work. Eric was able to get my car in the very next day and kept me updated throughout the repair process. He talked me through how to file the claim with the insurance agency of the person that hit me so that I would not have to pay my deductible. He stayed on top of the insurance agency the whole time and left no work for me to do. Moppert Brothers also called Enterprise and had a car waiting for me. I just picked up my car and can't believe how good it looks- I feel like I am driving a brand new car! I couldn't help but smile the whole ride home. Dealing with car accidents is always a headache but Moppert made the experience as easy and stress free as possible. I will continue to use Moppert Brothers and recommend them to friends as long as I am driving! read more
