We came in to find about half of the pastries over baked or burnt. We ordered a brioche and a loaf of sourdough. The brioche was perfect and delicious, but the sourdough was very underproofed- dense and extremely gummy, which was so disappointing, especially considering the $9 price tag. I would go back to Milkbox in the future if I had heard that they'd improved their standards because it would be awesome to have a top notch local bakery.

Our barista's name was Brianna, and she had a phenomenal attitude. She looked excited to help us out and appears to love her job. Her passion for her job truly shined through during our time in the shop. Ambiance: As mentioned above, this review is based on our visit to the First Street location in Cedar Falls. It has a much different vibe than the College Hill location. The First Street location is not quite as "homey" as the College Hill cafe and has more of a coffee chain feel (not as much unique character that I typically enjoy with local coffee brands).
