I highly recommend anyone shopping in the downtown area looking for a custom suit to AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE. The staff are unprofessional, poorly trained and the work product is cheap. I wanted to share my experience to explain why I feel so strongly and to help others avoid this place. In April last year I bought multiple shirts and a suit from this store. The first time I went I bought one shirt and got measured. Within a month the shirt ripped at the elbows and when I went back they said that they would replace it after remeasuring me again. Feeling optimistic I went in a 2nd time to buy another shirt with the new measurements and again within a month it ripped at the elbow, not wanting to bother them for another replacement. I got this stiched at my local dry cleaner and paid for that out of pocket. At this 2nd visit which was 2 months after the first measure they mentioned they forgot to order my replacement shirt. I waited a few months later and went back a 3rd time to get measured for a suit. They told me it would take 4-6 weeks to get the suit and it ended up coming in 9 weeks and no one from the store bothered to mention the delay to me. When it finally came the suit didn't fit properly and it seemed to be intended for someone much larger than me. The staff tried to convince me there was no problem with the suit but I asked them to try and fix the width. A week later I went to get the suit and it was still to large - on top of that 12 weeks later the replacement shirt I first asked for was still not ready. I tried to complain about the long delays, lack of communication and poor quality and the manager John simply said to me "I'm sorry you feel that way". The whole experience has been very frustrating and I hope no one else goes through this.

When I walked into the store, the salesman approached me noticing that I was attempting to match my suit jacket to appropriate shoes. We proceeded to walk through a number of different options and chose a number to try. J&M service has the nice touch of having their salespeople hands-on fit you with the shoes when trying them on. Though to be honest, even though I appreciated this, I eventually asked to just try them on myself. Too much good treatment and my bougie meter would explode. I quite like the style of their shoes in general, and even better, most of them are surprisingly comfortable. At the time, they had a sale going on, which made their shoes even more accessible, but even without the sale, I must say that J&M's value to price point ratio is pretty high. Take walk to most of the surrounding stores and you'll be hard pressed to find shoes of the same style & quality at the same price. If my job necessitated more business casual or formal wear, I would certainly make a couple more purchases at J&M. Come for the clothing, appreciate the service, take advantage of the price.

I wanted to purchase Prada men's sneakers that were displayed on the sale floor. The item was clearly placed in the sale section and marked as a sale item. When I asked the salesperson to bring the second shoe and the box so I could purchase the sneakers, he looked genuinely surprised that they were supposedly on sale. He then said that there was no box and no second shoe. This is not the first time I have encountered a similar incident in this store. Items are displayed as sale items, but when you actually try to buy them, it suddenly turns out that something is "missing" -- the second shoe, the box, or even any acknowledgment that the item is on sale. I asked to speak to a manager, but the salesperson refused to call one. I waited for more than an hour, and neither a manager nor the sneakers ever appeared. During that time, the salesperson pretended he was looking for the item, but instead he was talking to and assisting other customers. In the end, he took the single shoe that had been displayed for sale and removed it, and he did not put it back on the sale floor. It feels like these items are intentionally not being sold to customers at the discounted price. Later, the same kinds of "sale" items appear on eBay or other resale websites. I consider this practice unacceptable and misleading to customers. I hope store management takes this situation seriously and addresses it.
