Isn't there a store like this in every mall? Slap a vaguely European name on the sign, and a big…read moresale sign out front and watch the punters flood in. Strada offers mid-priced menswear to the well-heeled denizens of Bayview Village. It's tough to draw a bead on the place. Well-constructed Jack Lipson shirts sit alongside cheap turtlenecks. Decent Jack Victor suits alternate with knockoffs that bear Italianized names likely drawn out of a Luigi......Placido! hat. Sweaters vary from trendy toggled cardigans to Cosby-worthy head trips. A table of ties is just kinda there. Even the pretty ones seem somehow unloved. Staff do the best with what they've got to work with. A manager rushes to your side in case you want to try their made to measure program, but without an actual tailor (by which I mean a little old man with a measuring tape around his neck and a semi-permanent stoop to his gait), how confident would you be? The return policy is non-existent. If you have a middle-aged, middle-manager friend who seems to hit the Grecian Formula a bit to heavily, this is likely where he purchased his mock turtleneck, melton blazer and pleated slacks. If you're looking for the same outfit, hurry in. They'll be 70% off this weekend (snark).

HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE, RUDEST I'VE EVER EXPERIENCE AT BAY VIEW VILLAGE…read more Strada is a small menswear store inside Bay view Village, selling dress and casual shirts as well as suits and blazers. The prices aren't too high but some of the items are up there, but what turned me off the most during my last visit with my brother was the disgustingly poor attitude of one of the store managers. The store was rather empty during our visit, just my brother and I and some other couple. My brother had already purchased a blazer that was on sale and after paying for that first item, he wanted to buy a casual shirt to go with it. He picked up a shirt from the sales table and tried it, and noticed it was really wrinkled and asked for it to be steamed ironed since he was planning to wear it that night. Now this is where things went so unacceptably wrong. The man helping us (some middle aged European man) gave us the dirtiest, and most annoyed looked, scoffed and said, "its juts a 30 dollar shirt, I'm to busy to do it for you" while walking away from us and leaving us standing near the change rooms. My brother and I looked at each other and went "WT?" First of all, it was not AT ALL busy - we practically heard crickets chirp. We went to complain to the other manager about this and he apologized many times for this colleague, who continued to shoot us dirty look, but we were absolutely disgusted by this highly unprofessional behaviour from this one manager and the way he treated customers, making us feel as if we weren't worthy of his time for buying a cheaper item. My brother was livid, and wanted to return the blazer he had already bought but since the 2nd manager tried to redeem the situation, we paid for the $30 shirt anyways but we will NEVER EVER return to this store. I've walked by many times because I live nearby and Its mostly empty with no more than 1-2 customers in there even on busy weekends. They have loads of stuff on sales at all times of the year but no price would make us want to shop there again. And we asked for the owner of the store, and the more polite manager said, the owner lived out of the country so he's never observed his employees. If he would, he would kick this snot of a sales guy out his door. So unless you want to be made to feel like a second class citizen, don't shop here!

They carry a really nice collection of 7 For All Mankind jeans here, these are the most comfortable jeans I've ever owned. Match this with their great selection of shirts from John Varvatos, and you have yourself a great outfit you can walk out in. Customer service is good, though there is only one person working at a given time, so expect to wait if they are already helping someone. So, in conclusion, if you're in Baiview and looking for some high quality menswear, look no further than San Marino.

Excellent service and quality of product. My wife used to be a fashion designer (with a university…read moredegree in fashion design and production) specialising in menswear before she decided to become a stay at home mom so she knows quality when she sees it. Obviously i took her with me to try on the product and give her opinion. Pricing is not cheap but in this case you get what you pay for. Much of the quality you're paying for is the fabric and quality of construction as well as the stuff you don't see (e.g.. the insides etc.) These were things my wife pointed out that i wouldn't have even known about. In the end, according to her, its how yhe suit hangs off the body and the longevity. I just liked the fabrics available. Overall, i was/am quite happy even though i ended up paying mire than i ever thought i would for a couple of suits :).

It's pretty much been the same over the past years, same mom and pop clothing stores, with a food court. I personally really like the shop with all the pretty dresses and handsome tuxedos for kids, they are super cute and very affordable! I would go into One's Better Living to browse around for home items/decors. A little sad that they don't have a legit bubble milk tea shop inside the mall.... just coffee and tea, Real Fruit, and a Freshly Squeeze (which did not open when I went). The newest addition would be K-Food Kitchen, right next to mall entrance #2, selling a variety of kimbab and fried chicken platters!

To be brutally honest ... it's actually a personal favourite - but as something more along the lines of a Public Service Announcement, I'd rather keep the consumer's expectations in check, and maybe let them be pleasantly surprised by what this modest mall has to offer. So. This is definitely a neighbourhood mall as opposed to a Destination Mall like Yorkdale or Square One. You have your No Frills supermarket; your Canadian Tire all purpose goods store; your Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy; and your Hudson's Bay department store, forming the cornerstones. Add to that, some solid amenities like a Fit for Less gym; a full service Pickle Barrel restaurant for your sit down meal and beverage needs; a Dollarama for your dollar store purchases; a full food court with many food outlets to choose from; and plenty of clothing, jewellery, and many more specialty shops to cover most items you might need. The washrooms used to be a dingy affair down in the basement but have been relocated and upgraded to the main floor. Nice improvement! You can also choose from a Tim Hortons takeaway counter, an open area Timothy's, a private company coffee counter, and a pretty nice self contained cafe called Dolce Camerata with its own outdoor patio space for plenty of cuppa Joe and snacks options. One of few remaining Ardene outlet stores is also still here. There are a lot of one-of type clothing stores with tons of low cost items, and a couple of shoe stores. There aren't a lot of chain stores, especially in the toiletries department so don't look in vain if you're hunting for Body Shop or Bath & Body Works items. In fact, you will find very few chain stores here, which is where it will likely fail the more demanding consumer. Great for every day needs. Beware the mall parking, which for some reason is inexplicably difficult to access and navigate in spite of a decent volume of parking spaces. Just don't expect to be wowed, and maybe you'll find a few unexpected, little surprises.
