I think they are open like 4 hours each day during peak office hours, or you can wait for the next auction. They seem honest and kind, but not overly anxious to do business with locals. I guess this auction house has a shipping business model. Complicating this problem is the fact that if you use HiBid, you will only see a Status box, not a win box. You will have no idea that you won the item unless you get that voice mail call. I don't know about you, but how many voice mails do you get that aren't spam?

The two informational post that are stationed on site gave us some important information about the town of Lavon and the uses of the building. Having roots in small town USA I noticed some fascinating features about the building. The roofline and awning are typical of that era and reflected the progressive nature of the times.

There is room to pull to the side of the road to see the marker. It reads, "Georgia native Thomas C. Neel married Willia E. Latimer in 1848. The couple moved their family to Texas in 1854 and to Ellis County in 1855. They established a cotton and wheat plantation near what would become Ennis. Neel called his wife "Will" and the plantation became known as Will's Town, which later was shortened to "Wilton." A post office opened on the plantation in 1857; it served under both the United States and Confederate governments. In 1861 Neel was appointed a delegate to the Secession Convention. Later that year, he was elected to represent the 42nd District in the House of Representatives in the 9th Legislature. Shortly after that term ended, he was elected State Senator from the 19th District, but he became ill and died before he was able to serve in the 10th Legislature." It is in excellent condition. She wrote down the original total of my merchandise, calculated the discount on a calculator, wrote down the discount, entered each item on the computer. It was really time consuming. But let me tell you this... it's definitely worth the drive!!!! If you know me and my husband are OBSESSED with the Munsters. They only show the house by Appointments only! We're so grateful my in-laws took care of that for us. The owner gave us the tour of this beautiful house and I must say that my favorite room in the entire house has got to be the memorabilia room. I'm so jealous of the entire Munster Collection!! It's pretty fascinating that Grandpa (Herman's Father in law) visited this Munster Mansion before he passed, and also one of the actresses that played Marilyn, also visited too!
