We left Sausalito and crossed the Bay to get anchovy bait over at Fisherman Wharf. We spent the entire day in the Bay fishing for stripers & halibut. Strioers were easier than halibuts. We…read moregathered at the dock super early and although we thought it was early, Captain Kyle was up and at'm ready to fish! He said we were in for an adventure. The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+

As soon as I called Captain Todd Magaline not only took my reservation, but once he found out I was fishing solo he took a couple extra minutes to get to know me and my experience level (which was zero). From the initial conversation we discovered we are both members of the California Waterfowl Association ( shout out to CWA! ) and immediately bonded. As a female angler i don't have many lady friends that are into fishing. Being one of the guys is normal. This was a non creepy very fun and respectful environment. I felt safe and welcome. The day of the trip. I signed in and in his captains notebook I saw my name with some notes! I met the deck hands Gabe and Dom- exceptional young men. My rod was set up outside the captains cabin in case I ran into trouble. The day was amazing! Glassy water, wildlife all over the place, and friendly people aboard. There was one other female aboard and we bonded quickly too! Did I find my sea legs ??? Nope. Chummed the water for the last 4 hrs of the trip. Was it awful? Absolutely. Part of the experience? For sure. Did I catch my fish? Yes. Yes I did. Tips: * Get your fishing license BEFORE hand * Rod & 2.5lbs weights are available for rental ($35 -ish could go up) * You will need additional weights plan on buying more * Tip. Your. Deck. Hands. These young men are amazing and will be your besties for the duration of the trip * Bring CASH. After you leave the dock credit cards are a no go. Keep Captain happy and bring cash * If you catch you'll need a cooler and some ice. I had a 16 quart cooler it wasn't big enough. I did however, have a 20lbs bag of ice and that was helpful Would I do this again? Hell. Yes.

The captain never helped or gave any advise. There was a helper working with the captain, he was a young man, very bossy, rude, who lacks of patience and the drive to teach, mentor, and have people around to enjoy, not only to catch fish. This guy also laid 4 o 6 extra poles and he was more interested in catching halibut on his own, rather than teaching, helping and collaborating with all the customers. At some point one of his poles was bending, because a fish on, another person tried to help and took the pool, for what the young guy told him off: you don't take that pole buddy! Fishing is not only catching, but having fun, enjoying outdoors, camaraderie, learn and sharing. I don't recommend this charter, unless the captain changes the helper.

I wasn't sure if Elephant Rock was the little pier, the actual rock with the plaque, or both…read more Turns out, it's a big rock that the pier is built on, and it comes through a hole in the center of the pier. I had to go back out and get a 2nd look from a distance because I think I missed it the first time. A cool little sight while walking along the water in Tiburon. Angel Island looms large here with it being so close, but you also get views of San Francisco. The pier is really short and small, looks more like it's for tourists and locals than fishermen. Which I really think it's for anyway. But it's definitely unique, whoever thought of this, that was a great idea!!

I told her I just brought it in to return it. She decided that was the time she needed to go take a bathroom break and called a man to come cover for her who yells at her saying he didn't have time for that because he had so much to do!! But here he comes in a huge huff and asks me for my receipt and then looks at the can and said "no, no way...we can't return this because it has some rust on top" THIS IS THE SAME GALLON OF PAINT I WAS JUST RUNG UP IN A SALE FOR BY THE OTHER PERSON! I didn't say anything but you just sold it to me a month ago and he now starts shouting at me that he is positive as soon as a can comes in with any rust on top they discard it immediately and would never sell me that can. Literally tried to sell it me a few seconds before.... I said he can see my receipt under my membership and all frantic attempting to take my member number 3 times and kept messing up the number but wont slow down or listen. He finds the transaction and says nope no can't do it because it is from way too long ago and looks to tell me 7/13/2025, which is last month. I said it is obviously unopened and spoke to a store manager before coming in and if he could get Brian. And he tells me he is the store manager and Brian only manages inventory. I asked for a copy of my receipt And he said no and that he needed to ask me to leave the store immediately! He took the gallon of paint and pulled it toward himself and I said he was unbelievably rude and before I could finish he was shouting again... telling me he is not rude!! This was all after having to watch the prior cashier badger and belittled a customer rolling her eyes, and making other noises a 5 year old would make when exhausted at a customer already spending $300.00 because he was not simply agreeing with what she was incoherently mumbling about a gold member and refused to answer his questions or explain what she even saying to him until all the joy left his face and he just said yes do it to get away from her, it was my turn next.
