Sperry (Aurora x Camo Man) 2016 litter
    Kelly D.

I'm 100% confident I own the most beautiful pup in the world thanks to Moonshine Babies. Sperry has just turned 3 and I still send Rebecca picture updates. I found Sperry on the MSB website when he was just a little nugget, and must have asked Rebecca 1 million questions and requests for pictures. She was so lovely to deal with and sent me consistent updates as Sperry grew up from birth to 8 weeks. The coolest part is that although I'd picked out Sperry, my husband secretly contacted Rebecca and arranged a meeting to pick up Sperry days before our set meet up date to surprise me. She met him half way from our home in Nashville, and my husband surprised me when I got home from work with Sperry sitting on our couch. The best day ever, they totally surprised me!! We actually took Spers to a basic obedience camp where he past his final test as "low level German Shepherd" smartness. Sperry is hysterical and a joy in our lives and I am forever thankful and grateful for Rebecca and MSB.

Do not trust this woman. She goes silent after 2 dogs died in her care & I paid a deposit.

5/5 -- My Third Dog With Walker K9, and There's a Reason I Keep Coming Back…read more I waited several months after completing training with Walker K9 Training before writing this review because I wanted to ensure that the results were truly lasting. Now, months later, I can say with total confidence that enrolling my dogs with Walker K9 continues to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. This is not my first experience with Walker K9--this is actually the third dog I've entrusted to their program. That alone should tell you the level of confidence and trust I have in them. Whenever I need guidance, experienced handling, or advanced training, Walker K9 is the only team I rely on. They have become my go-to experts, and the results have never been anything short of exceptional. This time, I brought them my two female Cane Corso littermates--an extremely challenging combination due to the high risk of littermate syndrome. Littermates can become overly dependent on each other, react fearfully, develop competitive aggression, and struggle with independence. With powerful working breeds like Corsos, these challenges can escalate quickly. And they did. That's when I knew I needed the best professional help available, and once again, Walker K9 Training delivered beyond expectations. I enrolled each Corso separately in their 6-week board-and-train program. Separating them to build individual foundations was critical, and it was handled with absolute expertise. Chad, Cole, and Kelly took their time--never rushing, always prioritizing what each dog truly needed. They even extended training time when necessary to ensure the fundamentals weren't just taught, but deeply rooted. The transformation was incredible. My first Corso returned home more confident, calm, structured, and responsive. When the second pup completed her program and both girls reunited, the difference was night and day. They cohabitate beautifully now with none of the previous tension or behavioral issues. Today, I can place both dogs on "place" or "down-stay" anytime--indoors, outdoors, around distractions--and trust their impulse control. Their obedience is reliable because Walker K9 didn't just train them; they empowered me with the knowledge to maintain and reinforce their new skills. I continued feeding separately, practicing their commands, and providing daily structure--all built on Walker K9's guidance. And the experience goes far beyond training alone. Walker K9's program offers: Spa days Play and enrichment sessions Socialization opportunities Grooming and nail trims Clean, calm, good-smelling pups returned home It's a premium experience that reflects genuine passion for dogs and pride in the quality of their work. I have yet to find another program that blends elite training, individualized care, and thoughtful touches the way Walker K9 does. There is no other program like this. If you're hesitating because of cost, please understand: This isn't a cost--it's an investment in your dog's future and your own peace of mind. Especially for strong, intelligent breeds like Cane Corsos, proper training is not optional. It's essential. Walker K9 Training has changed the lives of three of my dogs. They have changed my household. And they have forever earned my trust. To Chad, Cole, and Kelly--thank you for your dedication, your patience, and your unmatched expertise. You make dog ownership joyful, structured, and stress-free. I could not recommend you more.

Andrew spent an hour or two at the house, observing the dogs and talking to us about what we were hoping to accomplish relative to what he was seeing. Before leaving, he gave us a couple of simple things to work on prior to the start of our consecutive board-and-train sessions two weeks later. Frankie and Ellie are now back with us and while they still have enormous amounts of energy, their ability to respond to commands, walk with a loose leash (zero pulling) and maintain their "place" is incredible! Selective use of the e-collars has even allowed us to redirect their attention in the midst of their loudest, most raucous roughhousing episodes. We can't recommend Andrew enough. He has a way that brings about significant behavioral changes in the dogs while building the confidence of owners: it's amazing to witness the transformations. We are so grateful that we found Andrew and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking to reconnect and improve their relationship with their dog(s)!

I hesitated to write this for nearly a year because I believe Cheryl is passionate about what she…read moredoes, however, her training was not a good fit for us, and we did not see results, despite spending $1700. For what it's worth, she's respectful, prompt, and brought her own dog to a few sessions to help my puppy with anxiety. She also has a good game for place training, and when I switched away from her methods this was the only thing we kept doing. This review will be long, but this is the main takeaway. I'd caution anyone from considering this "balanced training". It is not. The primary goal is conditioning a prong collar correction to a verbal "No!". It is purely punitive, not balanced. It's no different (& arguably worse) than the traditional 'crank & yank' style described in her book, just dressed up nicer. I'd advise future customers to use *EXTREME* caution if considering using an e-collar with Raise the Bar. An e-collar is NOT a punishment tool that you can slap on and hammer a dog with. For any behavior. Increasing punishment without clarifying the alternative desired behavior creates conflict. It's bad for the owner-dog relationship. Despite this, when unclear prong collar corrections didn't work, escalating to the e-collar was suggested at every single session. When I had concerns about shut down dogs/frustration, or feeling uncomfortable with the w/the level of corrections, I was met with contempt and told that based on 30yr of experience, this is just how it's done. Years of experience don't equal best practice. 1. Prong collar- it needs to be properly fitted. A loose prong (recommended by Cheryl) delivers inconsistent corrections and takes away the physics of the collars design, so you're no longer protecting the trachea or distributing pressure evenly. She recommended increasing the gauge of prong when corrections weren't working. I tried to discuss that this would require more force to deliver a similar correction, but shut down and told a 2.25 is a "puppy collar". In reality it delivers a higher level correction or "bite" with less leash pop. Most dogs should not be using a 4mm prong, especially loose, bc it's virtually ineffective. 2. Balanced training uses all quadrants of operant conditioning. Raise the Bar is almost entirely punishment based. Praise is not positive reinforcement. You can't be balanced and anti-treat/reward. When you hire a private trainer, you're paying for someone to train you, not your dog, and when asked 'why' she does things, she's not able to articulate it well. 3. Leash pressure- she couldnt get 1 of my dogs on the placeboard and gave up when he put the brakes on and reared back on the leash. She couldn't see that he just didn't understand leash pressure (which I've now taught him). He needed to be encouraged to go on in a way he understood. Next visit when he was on it she asked how, & I told her I was able to get him on in minutes with treats and free shaping, she was disappointed I had used food despite her method being ineffective. 4. **E-COLLAR**- please do NOT let Cheryl put an e-collar on your dog. I am SO glad I was enrolled in an e-collar course before she started suggesting it. She lacks fundamental knowledge of modern day e-collar use, likely bc it relies on foundations she doesn't use (ie a positive marker word & reward, low-level stim overlayed on well known commands via neg reinforcement, working under threshold). For crate anxiety she suggested putting an e-collar on my fearful puppy, & stimming at high levels until quiet, also suggested dropping a heavy textbook on the crate. Frankly this is abhorrent training. My dogs are now all e-collar trained and it's rarely ever necessary to use at aversive levels , esp not paired with "No" to induce handler fear and certainly not on a fearful/reactive dog. I could go on, because I don't think this is individualized training, but will digress. This training is conflict & punishment based & we did not reach any goals with her methods. I am pro-balanced, but this is compulsion. I'd suggest she expand her knowledge because her current methods have the potential to do serious harm. My relationship with my dogs was never worse than when we trained with Raise the Bar. The best thing about this experience, was that it lit a fire in me to learn to train dogs myself. They're now off leash heeling, hiking, no more reactivity, even went on a trip with us. Our results speak for themselves. I'll leave it there.
