I was having difficulties getting rid of it myself and figured that they would have the expertise and tools that I don't have to be able to get it. The matt is still there, and her ear looks like this now (picture uploading). Also, they only trimmed 3 of her paws. The left back paw has not been trimmed (see pic). And she was there for 5 and a half hours. They had plenty of time to make sure all 4 feet were done. What they did do well was her bath and brushing out her undercoat. I'm very happy with that part. However, getting rid of the matt behind her ear was 80-90% of the reason why I took her to a professional groomer to begin with.

Called office Saturday and was stonewalled by office manager, who insisted it was not their fault although she had no medical knowledge. After several calls Monday, got Dr. Logue to call back. He was very offensive and refused any future treatment. The manufacturer, Boehringer, agrees that the symptoms are consistent with a drug reaction and agreed to pay for treatment if that is the case. Another local veterinarian declined the case because she knows Dr. Logue and will not risk liability. Will see if cat recovers. Apparently it's best to stay away from the local pet doctors.

The staff explained things well, and called to let us know she was ok right after surgery. They even called a day after she was home to check on her. The office was clean, and the staff was very kind. Happy we traveled to Richmond and found her permanent vet.
