BUT, they carry the New York Times (which can be hard to find in Jackson County). So--I'll keep visiting at least once a week and I'll try to fill up with gas when I'm there. The bagging at the staffed registers is not professional. Fruit should not be bagged with cleaning supplies and hot and cold items should not be put in the same bag. It's just too much trouble to shop here.

Everything I've bought/attempted to buy from Ingles in Hiawassee that should be fresh including…read morebread, fruit and vegetables is either moldy at the store, or within 24 hours of getting it home. It's especially annoying because of their high prices. It's the only game in town so they charge what they want. When I first moved here, I tried to order a bucket of chicken from there only to be told that they were out of chicken breast. I replied, that's fine, just fill it with what you've got. Her reply was that they aren't allowed to do that. I asked what I could order instead and she informed me that I'd have to buy each piece individually. This Saturday I needed rolls and didn't want to drive all the way in to clayton. I picked up rolls off the rack in Hiawassee. A few hours later I took them out of the package and the bottoms were covered in mold. I realize it's my fault for not checking. It's been a while since I needed to check and I just didn't do it. But at this point I won't go back. Not even in an emergency.
