This is an UPDATE: During the First two visits, we were always given the Baklava. For my birthday, during our last visit, we ordered an extra Baklava, to taste what the others are like. Since, our guests didn't care for Baklava, maybe they'd rather have Birthday Cake or Ice Cream, I ended up eating them all, for the rest of the week. Summary: I think, I've had enough Baklava for the rest of the year. I was never fond of them, even though they weren't that sweet, and that's being honest. We went in on a whim, looking for a good Mediterranean place, and we were pleasantly surprised. This place is delicious! We first got the Mezzanine plate, with Tzatziki, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, and Tabouli. I loved them all and I have never liked the eggplant dip but the flavors were rich and earthy. The tabouli though, lemony, so lemony and fresh, so so good. I also had the falafel pita, and I suggest it, the falafels are not dry, the pita has fresh veg and great flatbread. The only minor complaint was I did not like their baklava, it was dry, really dry. But I still do not care we will be going back. Everything we ordered here was delicious. This restaurant is located about ten minutes from our house, and we have driven by it for a long time without realizing how good it was. I ordered the lamb and beef skewers with salad, and everything was fresh and tasty. My mom ordered the lamb shank, and that was possibly the most fabulous thing any of us ordered. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and came with a broth that you dipped it in, which was absolutely scrumptious. My father ordered the two skewers of hummus that sat inside a comically large piece of flatbread, which was equally great. The service was top-notch, and everyone working there was polite and attentive. The restaurant itself was very cozy, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We are delighted to have found a new restaurant with fresh options so close to home. read more

The sampler plate was excellent. I'm not a particular fan of baba ghanoush, but theirs was really good. The sandwich is fresh and delicious, the Service was quick, efficient and polite, in a really nicely decorated restaurant. A great ambience for the faith, with plenty of outdoor views. read more

I gotta stop ordering beef shawarma. Someone stop me the next time I try. I'm never going to learn. The shawarma was very flavorful but almost too flavorful. It ended up a little dry too. I probably should have gone for chicken. I really wanted to try the hummus and the combo with the hummus and Iraqi bread just seemed like the right choice. Kind of like a sandwich you put together yourself. Price gets a little carried away when you consider what a sandwich would cost. But I guess I get the hummus and more bread. Bread was fresh and soft and chewy. Definitely a highlight. Hummus was very smooth. All of the parts were really Delicious. Very friendly service and a clean space. read more

Very friendly with a relaxed vibe. A gentleman I assume is the owner greeted us warmly from the register upon entering. While we were there, customers arrived about every ten minutes mostly for takeout. That's always a good sign! Everything is served promptly and professionally. Even our waters were delivered to us on a tray. The food was very good. Everything is served on heavy ceramics and presented artfully. I ordered the veggie combo because I was starved after 9 miles of paddling around the Willamette. I judge Mediterranean food by the quality of the hummus. Moonlight's was a nice consistency, not watered down, hearty. I would have preferred more of a garlic hit but I say that about just every hummus I encounter! The baba ghanoush was fantastic, slightly tangy and perfect blend of spices. The absolute stars of the plate were the falafels. i am sure they are the best I have ever eaten. Moist with good flavor inside and a pleasant crunch on the outside. Not at all greasy or tough! Easy to cut with my fork. Dipped in the baba ghanoush --- heaven! Portions are quite generous and the prices are reasonable! I took home at least half of my dips. My plate was around $14. I pay $20 for a similar plate elsewhere. My husband said his chicken was good but nothing to write home about. It looked good! I told the chef how much I enjoyed the falafel. She beamed. This is a tiny place where the food is tasty and the staff take care of you with pride. Those two things right there is what I look for in a meal --- whether at a 10-table or 50-table establishment. Amazing service right from the start. The owner welcomes you with a smile and doesn't rush you on what to order. He will answer any of your questions regarding any dishes. I had the Chicken Kufta with the Baklava as a dessert which I've never tried but gave it a try and was actually tasty. Would order more in the future. Food is full of flavor and is authentic. Location is a great spot easy to find since it's near the main road. Inside the restaurant there is plenty of seating areas for larger groups. Down to earth kind of place I would say. Everything is so delicious!! We loved our falafel sandwiches and mezza plate we just had for our first dining in experience. (Covid had delayed our being able to since they opened in the midst of it.) The falafel is super flavorful dense but light and we swooned over the baba ganoush. Food tasted good, but I got very sick getting takeout food, which was consumed within five minutes of picking it up. Food poisoning. It's been several months and I didn't go back. I tried to call a few days later, but no one would answer the phone. I was there about an hour before they closed and wondered if they just hadn't changed things out to be fresh. It's really sad because I love Middle Eastern food and frequently go over the river to the east side and thought how nice to have something that sounded good closer to home. read more

We decided to try this local place, and I am so pleased with it. We tried the combo plate, and the burger. The burger had so much flavor and was grilled perfectly. Their wedges were super crunchy and flavorful. 5/5 The combo platter was insanely big. And SO delicious! It comes with chicken and beef shawarma. Along with a lamb and chicken kabob, rice AND a cucumber salad. All for $25 which is such a good price. It's a small place that seems to just be getting their feet under them, but they make everything fresh to order. From the time we ordered to getting our food, it took maybe 20 minutes. Our food arrived quickly, with generous portion sizes. I had the veggie combo and my friend had the gyro. GOOD FOOD! Probably the best Mediterranean restaurant we've eaten at in the Portland metro. Way better than the Tigard location. The owner explained the menu since it was our first time there and offered new items for us to try like the lamb shanks. Husband and I got the Kabab Plate & Egyptian Lamb Shank. The kabab was flavorful, but the lamb shank was a whole other level. It was so juicy and tender. For $25 the amount of meat in it would be enough for 3 servings. It came with tomato sauce on top of the rice with crispy bits. We will definitely be back! read more

We got the combo platter with lamb, chicken kabob, chicken shwarma, and beef along with a separate lamb gyro. The star of the show was easily the lamb gyro- the flavor and texture of the meat was perfect and the tatziki was soooo good. They were very very generous with their portioning of lamb and if I hadnt shared it theres no way I couldve finished it on my own. The combo platter was MASSIVE, we have a ton of leftover meat that could go well in sandwiches, burritos, salads, etc throughout the week, so thats a win! Servings were huge and the rice that came on the side was also a large serving that had really good flavor. Chicken and beef were a little dry but easily solved with a little tatziki. The food is very fresh and good. The wait staff is nice. I appreciate them making use of this oft-turned over location at a busy corner. It would be nice if they didn't have so many pictures and signs in the windows, and just kept them clear instead, but they are part of a 2-restaurant chain so that appears to be their motif. My only complaint would be that they are currently using plastic cups and utensils (though they do use ceramic plates). The "silverware" even comes in a little plastic wrapper, so you get a spoon even if you don't need it. Portland has always been more environmentally sensitive than most other cities; it would be great if this restaurant got with that program rather than adding to the landfill. Moreover, it's tough to cut meat with a plastic knife and fork! read more

This was my favorite Mediterranean place, but in the past year it's become my least favorite. First, the interior of the restaurant now constantly smells of burned grease, and the floors are always sticky. I started getting orders to go, which was fine for a few visits. But today will be my last visit there. I ordered my usual falafel plate, which used to be consistently good. But today the hummus was so thin I was afraid it was rancid. It was the consistency of a very thin milk shake. Ditto on the tzatziki. It was very watery and looked like it had been sitting out for a few days. The falafel was also disappointing. It didn't have its usual good flavor. I will have to find a new Mediterranean place for the future. Cannot recommend this one anymore. read more

This is a great find since there aren't many good restaurants in this neighborhood. They have a really good variety of vegetarian dishes. I was worried that most of the items were fried, but they weren't at all greasy. I got the Koba veggie mix and a salad. Husband got the beef Shawarma. I got a taste of the rice on his plate. It was so good I wanted to get a side of rice to go. Unfortunately the gentleman misheard me and gave us a side of fries instead. Overall still a great dinner and we'll definitely come back. read more
