My sister got a turkey bacon + chips to share. For the size of the sandwiches they are well priced which is great! My husband and I were looking for a quick, but good quality, meal after walking around Falkirk Cultural Center. We stopped by this spot which was only a few miles away. I got a ham and cheese sandwich with everything on it, and he ordered a bacon, turkey sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich. We both really enjoyed what we ordered. The ingredients on my sandwich tasted fresh and high quality. One thing we really appreciated was how customizable everything is, and it's nice that the food is made right in front of you. The staff was efficient too. They were quick to take our order, prepare it, and bring it out. The deli is on the smaller side, so seating is a bit limited. There's just some bar seating inside and a handful of shared outdoor tables in the plaza. Also, it's a little on the pricey side. My friends and I did a round of them except for me which had to order it sans the avocado. If I had a pickle on the side it would have made for a perfect meal but I can't fault them for that. Our washing machine broke. .... So, for the time being we are spending some of our Saturday mornings at the Laundr-o-mat nearby. Don't cry for us....We get to go to Moonlight Deli while we wait for the washer to do it's thing! We have now made it our "Saturday morning date"; Laundry and Moonlight". Each visit we look a little closer at the menu and try something new! Moonlight is meant to be homey - not fancy, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Yay! Betsy has such a joyful way about her. Everything she makes is done to order, fresh and bright. We have had sandwiches (Rueben, Turkey, Bacon & Avocado on croissant, Chicken Sandwich...all yummy). We loved their combo platter of middle eastern items (falafel, dolmas, eat). And have had their pastries, and coffee. They even offer complimentary brown bag lunches for on-duty first responders. How great is that?! Guess what! They even have Lappert's Hawaiian Ice Creams! That's our after-laundry reward. You don't need a crystal ball to see into the future for Moonlight Deli. Charming, hole-in-the-wall deli in downtown San Rafael. I happened to be in the neighborhood; I was hungry; and I saw their rave Yelp reviews. So bada-boom bada-bing... I came in for a sandwich. The two ladies working there couldn't have been friendlier. They steered me in the direction of their Reuben (corned beef, sauerkraut, Thousand Island Dressing on toasted rye bread). It was a solid sandwich. My only minor gripe was that they went a little too heavy with the Thousand Island Dressing. But hey, for $7, this meal was a steal! Most everything on their menu is under 10 bucks. And like I said, the people working here are absolutely lovely. They seemed to know everyone who walked in to order (from high school kids to employees in the area). I would totally come back here to explore more of their menu. Their turkey/bacon sandwich looks like a real winner. BTW, they also serve a plethora of sodas/juices/waters/etc. + coffee. And there's plenty of free parking in the Best Buy lot. Just down the street from the brewery! On a busy Saturday in spring, while I was waiting for the brewery to open, I stumbled upon this small, but friendly shop. They have a good selection of sandwiches. I chose the classic reuben sandwich, with lemonade. Only about $11. Seems like quite a deal to me. My order was ready in just a few minutes. I don't think it was actually made in the traditional way, but it was okay nevertheless. Recommend much thinner sliced meat, and not so much dressing. I had a chance to chat with the owner who explained they've been open for 1 year. I really like this little cafe. Nice selection, excellent menu. Plus, they are really nice people. This is a small shop in a small strip mall sandwiched between 3rd and 4th streets (next door to Tender Tenders). I ordered the chicken salad on Dutch Crunch. It was very good. This place just became my favorite for chicken salad. It used to be Scotty's Market. The bread is toasted by default which makes it that much better. My daughter ordered the egg, bacon and (swiss) cheese breakfast sandwich. She got it in on a croissant, but you get in on a bagel or whatever others breads they have. It was tasty, but was a smaller sandwich than the one I had. I also ordered an espresso. I was a little reluctant because I'm really picky about my espresso. I usually won't get one unless it's a cafe/coffee bar. Non-cafes sometimes don't know how to make espressos (they get drawn out too long). It was made with Graffeo which is a local coffee. I was also reluctant because I wasn't sure how often, as a deli, that they get espresso orders (the coffee might be old and there is a cafe next door). My daughter encouraged me to try it, so I did. This deli is a itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny, little spot of real estate that deserves some greater attention. I walked in and the owner was on her hands and knees polishing the floor! The interior was spotless, the glass on the display case was sparkling and all the salads in the case looked like they were same-day fresh. I instantly had a good feeling about this place. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and one of the employees, a young Hispanic man, began to put together one of the finest Reuben's I've eaten this year. The bread was toasted to the perfect crisp texture. The meat was sliced perfectly. The cheese was divine! I savoured each bite. Now there's not a lot of room for dining in here. Maybe, just maybe four people could be seated.
