Da Kung Pao Chicken or Beef lunch
Emily C.

The service isn't bad went during lunch. The egg flower soup was good. The kung pao wasn't spicy at all. The fried rice had no flavor at all. I don't know what happened to this place it used to be good.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and thought it was great! Service was great and quick and the variety on the menu was huge. The crispy texture of their Orange Chicken and Crispy Beef was done just right and a perfect combination of sweet and savory/spice. Very casual atmosphere and perfect for family and friends.

The Resturant is some what dated it has not changed much since it first opened. Lunch Specials start under 13 dollars Main dish soup salad and rice. Food comes out quickly. Service is good. The food is just basic

I'm not at all happy to be posting this review, but it must be done... Tonight we ordered some of our usual favorites. We were famished! Sat down to eat and before we even tasted it, the appearance was already off. (I regret not taking pictures.) We start eating and it was unmistakable how different the flavors were. We all agreed that this food was not prepared by the seasoned hands of the chefs we are used to. We've been ordering from Moon Wok since 2001. The restaurant had changed ownership in past years, but thankfully ,the food was consistently delicious! After some discussion, we decided to call and ask what happened. The woman that answered confirmed that the usual cooks were no longer there. This was very sad news to hear. Based on our experience tonight, we will not be ordering from them anymore. Where did those flavor geniuses go???? Moon Wok had a great thing going for so many years!!!! BRING THEM BAAAAACK!!!We are truly saddened. Anyone else have this recent experience there? Sound off and maybe, just maybe, they'll bring our beloved masters of flavors back!!

Placemat!

The food here at Moon Wok was serviceable, okay, with plenty of options for us vegetarians...but nothing really wowed us in terms of flavor or presentation. We had Tofu in Brown Sauce, which was fine, and Fried Rice which also was fine but didn't have a whole lot of flavor to it. It was our first time trying this place. There are lots of basic Chinese food spots in the Santa Clarita Valley. We've tried and enjoyed more some of the others. This one was just okay and wouldn't be our top choice to head back to or order from.

You just scan the code at the table and order everything from your phone, which makes the whole experience quick and convenient. We've been here twice now and some of our favorites are the shu mai, sticky rice, and the wings. Everything we've tried so far has been really good. On our most recent visit we also tried the fried tofu. The flavor was great and I ordered the less spicy version. The only small note is that the fried tofu was a little on the saltier side. If they eased up on the salt just a bit it would be perfect. The service has also been great both times we've come. The servers are always kind and attentive and they check in to see if we have any questions or need anything. I always appreciate restaurants that make you feel taken care of. TCG Dim Sum Noodle House fills a gap that this area has needed for a long time. As Valencia keeps growing, authentic cultural food spots are still pretty limited -- and this one feels genuinely authentic rather than adapted for American tastes. The dim sum tastes fresh and traditional, the noodles have that handmade texture and flavor you usually only find in bigger city spots, and the Hainan chicken is excellent -- simple, clean, and very flavorful. Service was friendly and the atmosphere felt comfortable and casual, which made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for real Chinese comfort food instead of typical takeout-style Chinese, this is absolutely worth a visit. A really great addition to Santa Clarita, and I hope they stick around.

Having gone to many great dim sum spots, this felt short. TCG is inside a ghost kitchen, virtual food hall in SCV. The chicken and shrimp shumai, XLB soup dumplings, and the popcorn chicken were all just okay. Popcorn chicken was a bit better than the dim sum. But the dim sum didn't taste very fresh. By the time we started eating them, they tasted quite mushy. There was no sauce for the popcorn chicken. Someone I know has been before on the weekend, they said the popcorn chicken then was amazing. So I don't know if this place makes their food better on the weekends, but just gives us the lesser quality on the weekdays... quite disappointed. If only the food was consistently good.

That's exactly how I felt after taking my boys out for Chinese food at this spot. I nearly didn't write this review because it truly feels like one of those hidden gems you're lucky to discover. From the first bite, it was clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The food carried a noticeable freshness and authentic depth of flavor that immediately stood out. I ordered three staples to get a good sense of the menu: chow fun, fried rice, and walnut shrimp. Each dish delivered. The chow fun had perfectly cooked noodles with that signature wok flavor, savory, balanced, and satisfying. The fried rice was light yet flavorful, with every grain distinct rather than heavy or greasy. And the walnut shrimp was the highlight: crispy shrimp coated in a creamy sauce that hit the right balance of sweet and savory without overwhelming the dish. What impressed me most was the consistency and quality across all three plates. Nothing felt rushed or generic, everything tasted carefully prepared and full of character. In fact, the experience was good enough that I've already returned since that first visit. The menu clearly has more to offer, and I'm looking forward to exploring different dishes each time I come back. Places like this are rare, excellent food, authentic flavor, and the kind of quality that keeps you coming back.

Then, my eyes moved on to a breakdown of the bill. It included sales tax, of course, AND a service fee of around 7% -- both reflected as a single amount of money on a single line, entitled "Taxes $ Fees"! Maybe the "fees" were for the food cartons and plastic bag? Upon further examination today, this is how they describe the so-called fees: "Support Local Fee" (a flat 99¢) "Surcharges" (a strange percentage) Question -- do customers dining in also see these charges when the bill arrives? Maybe it's time to simply raise menu prices...

Since its opening, Yunnan Restaurant has become a staple in our rotation for good reason. The pro-tip that I almost want to gatekeep is to go for lunch because that's the only way to guarantee that all of the best cold dishes are still in stock. My family's go-to is the vinegar potato strings, bamboo shoots, and sliced mushrooms, but we've recently also gotten into getting a side order of the peanuts with anchovies. The peanuts have a great sweet and salty roasted flavor and would pair perfectly with some rice. I could honestly be happy just ordered a big plate of the vegetarian cold dishes with rice, but it would be criminal to not order some of the noodles. The Sichuan style cold noodle is my absolute favorite item on the menu. It is vinegary, spicy, a little bit sweet, and super refreshing! The noodle texture is nice and bouncy, and the sliced carrots and scallions and blanched bean curds add a great crunchy texture. Despite being meatless, this noodle dish is absolutely satisfying and delicious! Most of the praises I sing are about this cold noodle dish, but their other items are also quite yummy. I enjoy the braised garlic seafood tofu dish, which pairs well with rice, and there are whole cloves of garlic that were braised with the seafood to be subtlety sweet and not at all pungent. My Mongolian beef was delicious and they were generous with the portion. I loved my dish, my wife salmon also came out but she didn't really like. Natalie came back with just one coke but forgot my refill. The coke she brought was flat so not good. We decided to not even bother anymore.
