This was the first time for a massage since I had waited a week from our cruise but the pain was just not diminishing. My appointment was at 4:45 pm and I came early to fill out forms. I had the good fortune of having Leland to give the massage. It's been a long while since I had a male massage therapist but it was great. He knew I was in pain and he took me to another treatment room that had a bed that could be lowered for me to get onto. I chose lotion vs none. I left my undies on then was covered with a sheet. He asked what kind of pressure I wanted and he kept checking if it was okay. He knew exactly where to press to find the sore spots right away. I had informed him I had difficulty lifting my right leg and he was very caring and gentle when he needed to move my legs. When I let out an occasional "yeow" he addressed it. Towards the end of the session I asked him to work on my left shoulder. He was terrific and I definitely will request him again. Leland is smiley, very intuitive to a client's pain and knows his job exceedingly well.

Excellent and Friendly Therapist:…read more The moment I first walked into this office, I had a good feeling of this place. All their staff was always friendly and made you feel welcomed. I was introduced to my therapist Karly. Karly is an excellent, friendly, and caring therapist. She is very attentive, a great listener, prompt, and always accommodating. She takes the time to explain each exercise and how it helps and benefits your body. She tailors the exercises to your individual needs to help promote healing and recovery as efficiently as possible. Karly carefully gauges the appropriate amount of weight for each exercise and makes adjustments when necessary. She also provides different options, allowing you to choose which exercises are most comfortable while still being effective and beneficial. She monitors your progress during every session and keeps detailed records of your progress on her laptop. She continually evaluates your improvement and adds or changes exercises when needed to make your therapy more effective. I really appreciate her professionalism, knowledge, patience, and genuine concern for helping me improve. Karly goes above and beyond to make every therapy session productive and comfortable. I highly recommend Central Oahu Physical Therapy.

Extremely frustrating experience with Central Oahu Physical Therapy in Aiea…read more When Central Oahu Physical Therapy received my referral for lumbar pain, I waited an entire month just to begin treatment. I was scheduled for four weekly sessions, with my final appointment on 3/31/2026, where the physical therapist was supposed to evaluate whether I needed continued care. However, it makes no logical sense to have an evaluation when there are no further appointments available with the same physical therapist until May -- over a month away. This completely defeats the purpose of the evaluation and continuity of care. I spoke with the telephone receptionist, who also acts as the office manager. Her primary role is reception, yet she presented herself as if she were a decision maker. When I asked to have the owners call me, I was told to look them up on the website. She is not an owner and cannot make final decisions. The owners never called me. Instead, Physical Therapist Erin deNeeve Baum, an employee of Central Oahu Physical Therapy, called and left a message. I chose not to return the call because I did not want to speak with her. Oahu is a very small business community, and in a situation like this, a professional and concerned owner would have made a courtesy call. That did not happen. This office appears to have a serious breakdown in communication between the physical therapists and the front office. Rather than coordinated patient care, it feels like a system where patients are moved through a set number of visits without clear follow-through or continuity. It gives the impression that the focus is on bringing in more patients and generating revenue rather than providing effective, continuous care After four visits -- the first being mostly measurements and only three visits with minimal exercises -- I am still not better. Quite frankly, this was a waste of time. A friend shared exercises given by her own physical therapist that have been more helpful. Also, with today's technology, you would expect more modern patient support. Instead of printed paper exercise sheets, there should be access to a digital platform with guided videos and progress tracking. These types of exercises are easily found online, which makes the lack of added value from this office even more disappointing. If you are considering physical therapy, do your research and look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution against choosing Central Oahu Physical Therapy. You may end up frustrated, delayed in your care, and no better off than when you started. Patients deserve far better.

After lifting my mother's wheelchair in and out of my car for 2 years and then pushing a huge…read morerecliner wheelchair outside so she could enjoy some sunshine, my back had taken a toll. My pilates instructor said I had scoliosis (which I never had before) and said I would have to put lifts in my right shoe and place a pillow under my right hip but I felt that wasn't the answer. I went to PT, chiropractor and water therapy, but I knew I needed to strengthen my core and other muscles. My prayers were answered when I met Gregg and started with his package to exercise 3-4 times a week. He started me very slowly and I never experienced any pain. He explained that I needed to strengthen the tiny muscles deep inside first and build my balance and strength. He made working out so much fun and enjoyable. He was like a therapist and a friend who worked me hard enough but not so I would dread going to see him. The session always seemed to fly by because we would laugh a lot and I knew he really cared about me and my progress. He gave advice as to my diet, but never judged me. Previously, I was feeling unstable and my core and legs were weak but I proudly told him about 3 HUGE WINS I had! I lost my balance in the shower and could see myself in slow motion falling out of the tub/shower.... but because i was exercising, i did not fall was able to balance and get upright again. WIN! One day I was going down the stairs (wearing socks) and carrying a glass... suddenly I slipped down a couple of steps but miraculously stopped myself from falling, got my balance back on the step and did not even drop the tray (I saw in slow motion the glass and dishes falling and shattering on the ground. In the past things would slip out of my hand and I could not stop it from crashing to the ground- NOW I am more coordinated and have more grip strength WIN! WIN! My WIN WIN WIN was when I was carrying heavy pavers to the curb in a rush (feeling proud of myself that I could carry these heavy blocks now) when suddenly the front of my slipper flipped under tripping me, Again in slow motion I could see myself falling to the asphalt and skidding on my bare skin.... but as I flew off the curb somehow I ended up with just a tiny scratch on my arm as I looked around to see if anyone witness my miraculous twist. I do need to be more mindful and slow down as I am now 71. But working with Greg, I am feeling much younger again. He is a gem in Mililani Mauka who is more than a trainer. He is a life coach! Thank you Greg! You are the best and you deserve all the awards and accolades you have received. (He is great with dogs too!)

Although I do not have any concerns with pain, I do not want to get to the point where I do the wrong exercises and sustain injuries that'll hurt me in the long run. Greg is so patient and always takes his time to make sure my body is balanced. He does squat assessments before training to make sure he addresses any imbalances in my body. Even though I work out pretty frequently, I do not feel any pain in my body because Greg teaches me how to do exercises correctly, stretch before and after working out, and also informs me if anything is wrong with my body. Not only that, I have never been so happy with how I look. He also provides diet plans for those in need. Not to mention he gives the best massages. I am currently a student and sometimes my shoulders get a little tense due to being on the computer all the time. The massages make me feel so much better. It is also a perfect way to do self-care for a stressful lifestyle.

Been waiting a while to write a review so I can fully assess how The Aquarian has helped me…read more.. starting like 6 months prior to me going, I started getting severe bloating even when no food was in my stomach. Like I looked 6 months pregnant all the time even before meals. I eat healthy so I was at a loss to what was causing it. I also am normally 160 lbs and don't fluctuate at all, but in the last 6 months, I was up to 168 lbs and was so confused why because my lifestyle never changed at all. My doctor tried to convince me that I had to go on antidepressants (?) for my gut health (!!??) which I thought was absurd. My doctor basically said best case scenario, I get transferred to GI and they do a bunch of tests for a lot of money and then they diagnose me with IBS. There's apparently no treatment or cure for IBS so I wasn't satisfied with this, especially since I didn't always have the bloating issue. My mom told me that she secretly went to a colon hydrotherapist and it helped her and when she told me what that was I was seriously grossed out but also so uncomfortable from the bloating and so desperate. I called him and honestly thought he was kind of cocky, but didn't have another option so I went. I was so nervous but he was really chill and make me comfortable. It's basically in his apartment which is kind of weird, but he was clean, had the right supplies, and I've been two times already! Gonna make my third appointment right now. Back down to my regular 160 lbs from doing nothing, so I guess it was just 8 lbs of poop stored up lol. During the process, he was extremely knowledgeable and What I've learned is that you should just do what he says. It works. He may be blunt, but just don't be sensitive and it will help you! He even gave me this clay to put on my skin because he said I had an uneven skin tone LOL but let me tell you that clay worked so good and I'm buying my own! The fiber that he gave me I was suspicious about but listened and took it every day. Totally helped and sooooo much came out on my second visit I was SHOCKED and kind of horrified. After the second visit, my "bloating" was still relatively flat stomach evne after eating food and I thought I was cured so I stopped taking the fiber. After 6 weeks, the bloating came back! I immediately started taking the fiber again and am going to make another appointment for maintenance. The fiber, although very gross, works like a charm. Overall, totally worth it!
