I can't think of one…read more This is a really lovely Brazilian Market in the rainy east end of Providence, and it's a great place to stop and grab some Portuguese and Brazilian groceries. It's a really excellent part of a very Portuguese town and the prices here are not too bad either. You must stop in here if you're ever in this part of town for sure.

For me, the big draw here is the spices...enormous pint and quart containers of allspice, cardamom, rosemary, za'atar, you name it...everything needed for Middle Eastern cooking, at ridiculously, absurdly low prices. Their other specialty items are also very inexpensive, including jars of grape leaves (roll-your-own dolmades!), shisha for hookahs, halvah, tahini, labneh, and on and on it goes. There's even a refrigerated deli case for perishables, and boxes of fresh baklava and other sweets. For price and selection, these guys are hard to beat, and are friendly and generous to boot!

We found so many local favorites here (Wrights Dairy Farm milk and cheeses, Warwick Ice Cream specialty flavors, breads and dry goods from popular local vendors etc.) as well as some fun gift items we've never see before. We selected some prepared food items (broccoli crunchy salad and veggie pasta salad) to go with our sandwiches and we were not disappointed. The ladies behind the counter were lovely and very nice to speak with, they not only told us about the items in the deli case, they also shared their love for the Pawtuxet Village area and recommend some other shops we should visit. We're already planning another visit there as soon as the weather warms up a bit so we can enjoy our sandwiches outside and do a little more shopping in the area.
