I love stopping in this florist shop because they always help me put together a wining combination of flowers or plants to beautify my place. I was completely new to the world of floral, so I appreciated the knowledge they shared with me as a customer. My goal was to Feng Shui our atmosphere, since Holland's climate tends to be more gray than sunny. I love bringing a bundle of fresh flowers to brighten up the house. Flowers and plants transmit a positive energy and cleanses the air, which returns a pleasant flow of chi throughout the house. I believe by bringing flowers into your home, it can attract a lot of positive health and energy into your environment. I bought a special plant here that contributed to the development of better breathing. The florist had shed light on the role of plants in health and healing to me. Furthermore my Dutchman is famous for bringing me a bouquet of lovely flowers to demonstrate his love. I was fortunate to have him introduce me to the world of flowers. Highly recommended!

What I must mention though is that the Christmas "show" every year is something I can not live without. If you're any kind of a Christmas nut, you MUST come here. Christmas time is definitely five star here with a massive range of balls, tinsel, villages and whatever decorations you can imagine. Love it!

If you love flower/garden shops and especially love tulips then you have to check out Bloemenmarkt…read more It is unique also because it is a floating market as many of the stores are on floating "boats" on the canal. I ended up getting some gifts for family/friends. The area could get a little crowded, and next to the flower markets there are also a lot of separate tourist/gift stores. Even if you are not into flowers, this place is worth checking out as it is near the city centre.

The vibrant colors makes you forget just how cold it is on a winter day. You can buy fresh flowers, seeds, bulbs, and stuff for your garden. There are souvenir shops and restaurants across this flower market. As much as I would have loved to grab something from here to take home, it would've gotten confiscated at the airport anyway and even if we're allowed to bring seeds and bulbs back home, there's no way it would survive Vegas heat. But it was nice to look around and see the beautiful flowers. It is "the world's only floating flower market" on the canals of Amsterdam. It's a free activity until you buy something.

I bought an orange tea-set for my newly acquired tea habit (who knew that cold winters would make you want to drink warm things all the time!) and a few other items for my kitchen and everytime I walk by I see something in the window that I feel I absolutely must have - this week I've been coveting "Thunderbird" action figures. Please make me stop! :) The owner is super friendly, there are always old dudes hanging out and chatting in the store - it's tiny and the hours are irregular but a great place to do a drive by and see what's new. And best of all, you can satisfy that need for "Thunderbirds" for a song.
