Crown Valley Park - Flyover at the park July 4th, 2025

Crown Valley Park

We came to this park specifically for the splash pad. It's open from Memorial Day to Labor Day…read more It's a long park. Just keep driving on till you see the signs for the playground and splash pad. The splash pad has smaller splashers on one end good for younger kids and bigger slashers more in the middle and the other end. I was worried about my toddler going under the buckets because the water comes down with pretty heavy force. My kid accidentally went under it and he shockingly didn't get splatted down. It's convenient that the playground is right next to the splash pad. The kids had a great time and my son has asked to come back already. We didn't have issues with parking mid week but I can imagine it may be tight on the weekend.

Crown Valley Park has evolved over the past 30 years. What was once a simple building with a basic…read moregym has transformed into the modern age with updates that were needed. The summers are filled with summer concerts that allow families to come together and the community to enjoy music, foods from foos trucks. Fall welcomes the halloween haunts where kids make memories that last a life time. I really love hidden spots in the botanical gardens for flower lovers like me can go and just enjoy mother nature. The added butterfly garden and its butterfly chairs make it more special. The soccer fields are filled with kids and adults playing sports. The community center adds that final touch with rooms that can be rented for special events, meetings, and downstairs is access to the heated pool. 5/5 I have attended a few private events at the community center and its a great addition to the area.

Technically, this review is for DP Tennis Academy, which is run at this tennis center…read more Like another reviewer thought, the kids' tennis camps are very much beginner-focused. They even do pickleball, which many tennis players would take issue with, as it involves completely different strokes, techniques, and rules. It also takes place both rain & shine, which is a rare consideration for SoCal, but it did happen to us for winter camp. The kids stay indoors to play games and work on activities, which is fine for general daycare, but...pricey considering the tennis premium. Lastly, the front desk lady is quite sullen and terse, thus making new visitors feel pretty unwelcome. She's plenty pleasant (though equally terse) to regulars. The only positive may be the private lessons that I saw taking place. The level there is obviously better yet, they still seem to be coached by young players themselves (high school/college kids) instead of prior pros who have played at a high level. TLDR: camps are for beginners. Look elsewhere for private instruction or classes for more advanced kids

My emails were ignored. I sent at least five emails asking for a credit at a later date during school breaks. Over $600 wasted. Terrible business ethics. Definitely won't be referring this camp to anyone.

Freeflow Aquatics - Coach Nav and the hardest working kids of 2025

What really stood out to me is how patient and calm he is with kids who aren't naturally comfortable in the water. My boys had their fair share of tears and hesitation in the beginning, but Coach Nav never pushed too hard or got frustrated. Instead, he knew exactly how to encourage them, build trust, and make them feel safe. As someone whose career involved working with children, I value this even more. Coach Nav's ability to connect with my boys, read their emotions, and still keep them moving forward was so impressive. His rapport with them made all the difference. Now both of my boys are not only swimming, but they're confident and happy in the water. It's honestly night and day from where they started. Coach Nav has that rare balance of discipline, kindness, and experience that kids respond to right away. If you're in Irvine, specifically the Great Park area, and want your kids to learn how to swim the right way - with patience, safety, and confidence - Coach Nav is hands down the best choice. He's the only coach I recommend.

From my very first message to wrapping up my 4 year old son's first swim sessions, he's been amazing--always quick to respond and super clear with communication. He's a talented coach and has such a great way with kids. My son absolutely loves learning from him, and we've already signed up for more lessons this fall. We also highly recommend Coach B--he's fantastic with the little ones!
