Lisa and Daryl at the front desk are exceptionally kind, and it speaks volumes that they take the time to know me by name, along with so many other members. My three children absolutely love going to the Kid Zone! The teachers are wonderful, incredibly kind, and know each child by name. They always have all sorts of new activities and fun crafts for the kids to do every single day. Knowing my little ones are happy, safe, and well-cared for makes my time at the gym completely stress-free. The workout classes are phenomenal. All of the instructors are super skilled, supportive, and truly take the time to get to know everyone in the class, helping to build a genuine sense of community. Beyond the staff, the members themselves are wonderful--everyone is so kind, constantly greeting each other, and sharing compliments. My boys had their fair share of tears and hesitation in the beginning, but Coach Nav never pushed too hard or got frustrated. Instead, he knew exactly how to encourage them, build trust, and make them feel safe. As someone whose career involved working with children, I value this even more. It is not only the City Hall of Lake Forest, but…read morealso its senior center, aka Clubhouse, a community center, a conference center, and also a performing art center/theater, all surrounding a central courtyard. It is referred to as Lake Forest's 100-year home. I was impressed by its beautiful view of landscape when I first set foot here a few years ago. Since then, I have visited all the buildings, even its parking garage. I liked the fact that most buildings are available for residents to rent/use. The hourly rate is very reasonable for personal use, and pretty much at-cost for non-profit organizations. I often see people use this facility as a public park. Families walk their kids and dog at dusk. The center is always decorated for the holidays, very festive. The only drawback perhaps is its location, not exactly on a major street of the city. Only people has a reason to come here will make the drive. Then again, it cuts down on people passing through accidentally.
