I was given a recommendation to come here from a friend for hair service. I've never ever been to a hair salon and for my very first service I am absolutely pleased! My hairstylist was Clarice. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and given a tour of the salon. She then gave me a little gift bag with samples of the products they use! The salon is very clean and well put together. I came in for a shampoo, flat iron, and trim. I'm 8 months pregnant and Clarice made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the whole process. You truly feel like you're being pampered and handled with care here! I highly suggest and vouch for this salon and if you need any hair care, come and see Clarice!!! You won't regret it. read more

Raquel is my stylist and she is amazing at what she does! She always gives tips on at home hair care and she makes you feel comfortable in her chair. I also took my mom to her, for a haircut, not too long ago. She loves it! Raquel's shampooing is top-notch! If you think a shampooing is just a shampoo, you haven't had it done right! Mood On 10th is so welcoming and I'm always leaving feeling beautiful and confident. Crystal also did my gel mani and after one appointment with her, I can already tell she not only cares about YOU but the care of your nails which is just as important. She didn't hurt me at all, she achieved the exact shape and length that I wanted and took her time making sure everything was right for me. I even got a massage with the gel mani!! I was so surprised because at other salons, massages aren't included with a gel mani. I voiced to Crystal that my cuticles are horrid! I wanted to love my nails after seeing crystals work on Instagram but I have to say that after 10 days my nails started to fall off.., I get my nails done with somebody else and I could go 3 weeks with the same set but this time after 10 days and $83 ago I had to go somewhere else to get it done again. I am giving 2 stars for effort...But the three different times I took my daughter there, I was unhappy with the results. 1st time was for a press and curl and the press wasn't very straight...I figured I'd attribute it to my dtr needing a perm touch up. 2nd time, I bought a Brazilian blow out Groupon and on arriving I was questioned about how I made appointment? I was asked If when I made the appointment I had mentioned the Groupon and I certainly had because I had asked the person who took the call how a Brazilian blowout worked? So, I was made to feel like THEY were doing me a favor by honoring the Groupon. (Aren't they the ones that would put that special out with Groupon??) Sadly, I wasn't even satisfied with the blow out because again, my dtrs hair was still very thick at the bottom. The very next week (yesterday) I scheduled an appointment with another stylist for a perm touch up to see if maybe the problem was with the stylist and maybe this time may be better...when I called to schedule the appointment I was told the touch up was one price ($65) the stylist seemed like a new graduate who maybe was unfamiliar with perms because she started the perm at the front of the hair, and before she could get to the back, my dtrs scalp was already burning and she (my daughter) was in tears...they never got to the back. (The owner of the salon was there the whole time). After they washed the perm out, I pointed out the the perm hadn't been done in the back hoping the owner would voice her apologies for the inconvenience, but rather she said "it's still rather straight". I said nothing else. Once done, the stylist attempted to charge me $79 for the service but I told her I was quoted something different when I was making the appointment, she then said, "OK, I'll honor the quote given to you" again, that thing where they acted like they were doing ME a favor plus, she added a $15 charge for the press after the perm. My first thought was I wanted to say "Isn't that part of the service? Why am I being charged for that?" But I decided to say nothing, pay $80 for a touch up that burned my dtrs scalp, didn't get the back of the head for the perm and a press that was supposed to come with the service. I just made a decision to never return. This was a hard review to give as there aren't many hair salons in Tracy that caters to Black peoples hair and I gave this salon three good try's and they failed me all three times. read more

All the staff is super nice, and they work as a team together super well. Went back twice to see Stephanie, and she kills it every time! I over bleached my hair at home, had severe breaking, and needed to get my hair fixed bad. I walked right in, Stephanie took me in, gave me the full works, and my hair came out awesome! Second round, she re-did my roots, and did an ORCHID & MAGENTA color mix, and voilá! Hair came out super perfect! Came here to have my hair cut and colored after a two year hiatus of any work on my hair. Raquel was my stylist and did a fantastic job!! She was prompt to greet me when I arrived, we went over my hair action plan and she addressed any questions I had. By the end of the consultation I knew exactly what I was getting. She gave me a small goody bag for being a new customer and we were onto foils. She did a great job of keeping up just enough small talk to make you feel comfortable but not so much that you were chattering the whole time. The salon offered refreshments. The bathroom was nice and clean. Overall I loved my experience! Will definitely be returning. If you are looking for a stylist I recommend Raquel, she did a great job on my hair. read more

This was my first visit to Mood on 10th, I was referred by my sis-in-law. She had just gone with a great deal from Groupon and I loved her balayage highlights done by Johnny! We both had been looking for a new place to go since we lost our hairdresser who moved out of town. I have to say, the staff was very accommodating and understanding when I had arrived over 40 minutes late after being stuck in the most horrible traffic on I-5 coming from Manteca. They understood and waited for me, even had a glass of mimosa waiting for me to help me relax after a chaotic start to a morning. I felt so bad, but they made me feel better and turned my day around. Brooke was my hairdresser and welcomed me right away. She was very efficient and professional. After my balayage highlighting, shampoo, ph treatment and cut, I felt so refreshed and renewed. I definitely will be back to see Brooke again! I think I found my new hairdresser! I loved the atmosphere and how the staff worked together. Beware!!! We DO NOT, let me say it again, DO NOT recommend this hair salon for hair coloring. The owner was rude, unprofessional, and condescending. The hairdresser assigned to do my little sister's hair was an amateur and definitely needs more experience under her belt before messing with other people's hair. Got my sister a Groupon for her birthday. The color did not turn out like what we wanted = red ombre. We were even willing to pay extra to ensure it looked like the picture shown to her. Disappointed with the turnout, we asked to talk to the manager or owner of the salon. The hair color was brownish in coloring. The owner approached us after she was done with another customer. We explained and showed her the picture of how we wanted. She was insensitive, rude and did not listen to our concerns before addressing the issue. She made us feel terrible as if we get what we pay for = Groupon. Apparently she DID NOT hear that we were willing to pay extra for the obmre because she was too busy being condescending about the whole situation instead of making us feel valued. There were moments when we even got into each other's faces too. The owner sure needs MAJOR customer service training, seminars or classes. She was unprofessional and hostile. Had a rough few weeks, then surgery 2 days ago, just felt miserable. Hobbled into Mood on 10th feeling horrible hair a mess and left feeling awesome. Everyone was welcoming and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. I had joint replacement surgery on Tuesday bandaged, swollen and aircast on, wasn't sure if I was going to be able to sit very long, they are always great but today they made sure I was super comfortable while getting my Brazilian Blowout and highlights. Arianna is absolutely amazing at color, cut and style. Everyone at the salon is so personable and I truly enjoy my time there. I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I found them on a fb page and ended up following them on IG. We recently moved from the bay area and I don't really know of a lot of places around here so I knew I was def looking for a place that would make me feel comfortable. I messaged them on IG, sent a couple pictures of how I wanted my hair and from there I knew that I was going to like the place. I went in and saw Nicki for my first appt and left happy. I couldn't keep my second appt due to being busy with life and they were very accomodating and fit me in when I was able to come. My second appt I was seen by Latoya and had help by Xiomara. Both of them made me feel so comfortable as soon as I walked in. Offered drinks and made sure I was ok. I loved Latoya's personality and she made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process that I didn't even realize I was there for almost 6 hours. LoL. They also were able to do my pedicure while waiting for my hair to be finished. Totally helped this busy momma of 2 babies! I was expecting to leave with blonde hair which I was kinda sad about since I wanted my purple hair already but I also knew it was a process... In the end Latoya said I was light enough that she can actually do my purple the same day! Totally made my year (I was not comfortable being blonde). By the end of my appt, I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling! I was so amazed with how my hair turned out! Better than what I expected. This place and everyone there are super duper helpful & soooo friendly! My mother went in yesterday for a TRIM at this salon based on a recommendation. She came out butchered with one side shorter than the other. She even came with a photo and it was shorter and choppier than the photo! The stylist is right out of cosmo school, and I cannot even find the stylist's name on any social media nor on their website. I am a licensed cosmetologist as well and find this so unprofessional. LaToya is a business savvy woman and has taken this salon to a whole new level for Salons in Tracy 3). LaToya has a staff of artists who truly care for their clients, we are not just a quick dollar to them! 5). Every time my wife comes home from a hair appointment she has a wealth of new knowledge and if she brings home a new product, she is well informed and can substantiate the importance of the item. Kudos to LaToya for being a wonderful educator. My wife has been a raving fan of LaToya's and has stalked, I mean followed her from salon to salon and was elated when LaToya shared her dream of opening her own salon. Now, the old Rumors salon was OK but as you may have seen in one of my old reviews, Rumors was in need of new furnishings, especially the chairs at the washing stations, they were so uncomfortable! Well, LaToya has remodeled the place and has all new chairs and stations. She has created an entirely new positive vibe at this location snugged in between Baristas and Subway! This is a class act salon and there will be those in Tracy who have friends or even own their own salons in town who will try to persuade you to stay with them as a client or even try to take you away from LaToya and that is business but I would ask you to quiz your current salon owner. Quiz them on current hair trends, hair fashions and new product offerings and then ask them which school or seminars did they attend to learn about the product? No! Brochures don't count! Now take those same questions and ask them of LaToya and prepare to be amazed! She has invested a great deal in educating herself on her craft/talent/profession and now that she has her own salon, her knowledge will quickly elevate her salon to the highest levels of achievement. She is hip, modern, current and will listen to your needs and deliver as promised! If your in the Mood for greatness, you have to try Mood on 10th in Tracy, CA. For you Yelpers in the Bay Area, this salon is up there with Dolce Vita in San Jose when it comes to hair and makeup. Now, I love the fact that Tracy still has a small town vibe but your hair style doesn't have to have the same small town feel. Be adventurous and try something other than what you'll typically see at other local salons. Don't get me wrong, other salons do great work and I have frequented most but there is a difference between good and exceptional! The girl who usually does my hair moved to San Jose so I had to find someone to color my hair. I came in for a consultation and they scheduled me for the following week with Ari?? I asked for a light brown color with partial highlights and with my roots a little darker. When she finished, my roots were so much lighter than the rest of my hair, and I came out looking extremely ginger, not light brown. You literally can't even see the new highlights, you can see where my old highlights were, and it just looks weird. It looks terrible, I mentioned it to her before I left and she said it was just the light hitting the top that made it look lighter, but everyone else that I've asked agrees with me, the top color is noticeably lighter, which was literally the opposite of what I asked for. I called and asked for a partial refund or to come in and get it fixed, Latoya was supposed to call me back and never did. I called back and was told again that she would call me back later. Until today, I have not heard anything else from them. Maybe they have good hair cutting services and other stuff but please do not get your hair colored here!!! I'd rather drive 2 hours in traffic than come back again. Wasted $240 and damaged my hair for nothing. read more

Ok so I don't write many reviews and wasn't going to write one about my salon visit but as the days go by I get more and more upset. First: it's been two days and I'm still washing dye out of my hair....ummmm yea not cool! Second: Showed my stylist what I wanted and she seemed legit and knew what she was doing. It was suppose to be an ombré of dark chocolate brown into a merlot red...she dyed my whole head merlot red! I'm in the Army and that crap doesn't fly....at all! So another stylist tries to fix her mess up and said she could get my hair to look like the picture I showed her...nope it turned out horrible and I got a small chemical burn on my forehead. I had already been there 3 hours on Veterans Day mind and just told them thank you to get out of there. I was in tears when I left. I can not say enough WONDERFUL things about Estephania and LaToya at Mood on 10. LaToya is the owner and does amazing work. But Steph is my girl. I go to Mood about every six weeks for a cut, color and the Express Brazilian Blowout. This last time I saw Steph, she was efficient and always gives me tips for maintaining my style at home, as usual. I am on about week six of my Express Blowout and my hair isn't looking as fresh as it usually does. I had 2 day dirty hair but also had an important meeting and I wanted to look my best for. I came home from the gym,shampooed, deep conditioned, blow dried my hair using all the products Steph recommended. I flat ironed and curled my hair and felt alright. It took me less than an hour! I was really excited to try this new salon. I had been working really hard lately and earned some extra money so decided to treat myself with new highlights and a brow wax. First off, they were 30 minutes late for my appointment. I'm sorry that's a bit unacceptable. I had another appointment this same day I had to cancel because I literally spent FIVE hours here for my hair and brows. I think that's a bit much all things considered. The stylist I had didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. She originally quoted me $162. This was for highlights and brows. Okay fine. But when I get to the counter to pay after and am told (by the very nice receptionist I may add!) that my total is $249....you can imagine I politely lost it. I demanded to speak to the stylist who then proceeded to tell me oh I had to use extra toner on your hair since it turned orange. Ok yea I understand extra toner needed to be used but it was NEVER communicated to me that I would be charged for the toner... I have been to many salons and NOT ONE charges their customers PER OUNCE for the toner used. I expect to pay the cost listed on their price menu, NOT hidden fees. I feel cheated and not valued as a client. I feel this is very unprofessional and all cost should be made aware to clients UPFRONT! I just overall didn't get a good vibe from this place so will be searching for a new hairdresser who makes me feel more welcome and is honest about their pricing. I am willing to pay for great service, and am aware "you get what you pay for" I absolutely agree in the case of hair, makeup, beauty services. but I do not appreciate being overcharged and hidden fees coming out of nowhere.
