The ice cream itself is incredible, with a wide variety of flavors that taste so fresh and creamy. I especially love that they use Michigan dairy--it means a lot to me to support local farms and businesses. The shop has a true "local supporting local" vibe: local shop, local ice cream, Michigan creamery. And the best part? The pricing is super reasonable and won't break your wallet, which makes it an easy stop for families or anyone looking for a sweet treat. If you're in Paw Paw or just passing through, The Scoop Shop is a must-visit!

While the cookies weren't warm they were still very soft and easy to eat. I asked for a dish and was provided a tray that was too small. The milkshakes were creative and well put together. The ratio of milk to ice cream could use some work as they were quite thin. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall the place appeared clean with the exeption of the floor that really needed to be swept. We will definitely return!

What a hidden gem! We happened to be driving through town to the GeoScape Rock Shop (must stop if…read moreyou love rocks) and saw what we thought was an ice cream place called "The Sugar Bear". After our stop we wanted ice cream and realized it was an ice cream creamery called Lafayette Creamery. I wish the signage was bigger and bolder because this place serves amazing high quality, clean tasting ice cream. It is so smooth and the flavors are different and fun. They change the flavors monthly and some of the ones we saw when there were (if I remember them right): caramel habanero/spicy (at first lightly sweet, then a smooth slow heat-Mmm), madagascar vanilla, raspberry ricotta (this was delicious and I typically don't get berry flavors), pumpkin (pie? Probably the best pumpkin ice cream I've ever had and I've tried a ton of places all over in different states), key lime pie, orange chiffon (tasted like orange creamsicle, so good), a blue one my daughter got with m&m's, a chocolate one that was delicious, peach and more that I unfortunately can't remember. They had 3 different waffle cone choices too: plain, chocolate and a funfetti type one. Fresh and crisp tasting. The prices were great too! We had 3 kids and 4 adults and it was about $20. We also got two flavors with the single scoop. Definitely generous scoops. Nice amount of clean seating inside. Some tables outside. A bathroom we didn't use. Very nice man working there. I'm shocked this place has no reviews on Yelp! If in town you must try this place and please leave a review! I'd hate to see yet another small shop go out of business especially during these covid times. We can't wait to go back.
