It was a nice park! Pet friendly and the kids can play. Great activity on a nice day.

It's a dog park, plus a spot for little ones. My son is now a teenager, so the playground equipment for him is a non starter. Yet for kids 10 and under a neat concept. This is set up like an obstacle course. If you want your little one tired, this will be quite challenging. There's a lot of cool designs and thoughtful construction took place. Parking is plentiful. It's right off of New Guinea Road. The car traffic will be heard unfortunately. Yet for the dog park, good idea to have two sections. Ones for puppies and little dogs, the other is for the big K9's. A very smart decision. There's plenty of room in each fenced area for them to run in. Friendly dogs and most part decent people. read more

This review is for the playground (obstacle course), not the dog park! Not your average playground! This is an obstacle course intended for 13+. They have rules for competitors to do a parkour-esque time trial, and even an app you can download to brag about your results. Do people use it for this purpose? Doubtful. When I was there with my toddler, the majority of people there were parents with kids under 10. The kids were definitely having a great time, but no one was truly running through the course as it was too crowded. This seems a little bit like an out of touch local government's idea to "get kids into parkour and keep the off drugs." Not exactly working as they intended, but it's still fun. There was a decent amount of parking but I could see how it would fill up. You have to think walk a ways past the two dog parks (one for tiny dogs--awwww!) to get to the obstacle course. read more

The dog park is nice and owners are all pretty good about watching their dogs. Had an experience recently where an owner wouldn't grab their dog and it kept jumping all over me and literally trying to knock me over and they did nothing so that's why I gave it 4 stars. Just be vigilant here is all. read more

Got a few hours to kill on your Tuesday? Is your doggie's bod not looking bikini season ready? Ever wondered where all the dog people are at 1pm on a weekday? This is the perfect place for dogs and dog people alike! I think it's so funny how our dogs are like us...it's no wonder Daisy was feeling a little uneasy about socializing today when all I wanted to do was nap and watch Netflix. If you want to witness a real (dog) social experiment, bring the doggos to Monticello park and watch them interact. The park is pristine and very spacious. Parking is plentiful. For the little humans there is a jungle gym that looked awfully fun. I was VERY content to see the dog park was separated for little dogs and big dogs. I know Daisy (and I) get a little anxious playing with rough big so daisy had her safe fun. All the parks had benches and water bowls...although I highly recommend bringing your own since doggie diseases are real. All the dog owners are so friendly and encourage socializing! Imagine that! Mae sure to bring your furry friends out to play once in a while! read more

While it's a small park, the obstacle course playground make this a worthwhile stop if you're in the area! Yes, the obstacle course says 13+, but TBH, I don't think I've ever actually seen someone 13+ playing on it in the handful of times we have been recently. Average age, I'd say, is 5-10. There are still parts you can do if little, but mostly my 2.5 year old loved just running around and under and over things. There are NO bathrooms here as well as NO shade. It's not an ideal spot during this August heat. There is a parking lot located at the far end near the dog park. The dog park is very simple, but lots of space to run around. We can walk to this park so we will frequent it again and again. It's often not too crowded either which is always nice. read more

I can't speak for the dog park since we don't have dogs, but the playground next to it is pretty cool. There are signs that mention that it's geared towards kids 13 and up and I could see why. This isn't your usual slides and swings here. They are instead play areas geared towards fitness activities for kids in the form of obstacle courses. That said, this particular playground is small but has enough areas to have kids finish the courses and restart again without getting bored quick. I will definitely come back with my little guy to switch things up a bit for his usual outdoor fun. read more

Honestly one of the better dog parks I have been to. This dog park is so good that I need to write a review. Dog owners are respectful and know how to control their dogs. Owners actually pick up their dog poop and are responsible. Perhaps this dog park is newer that it was more well maintained. Nonetheless, still a very clean park with PLENTY of tennis balls. BIG PLUS: a water fountain!! read more

Phenomenal pocket park with dog park and children's obstacle course. There's a small meandering walking trail and nice patches of open space to relax on. While the obstacle course is intended for 12+, there were plenty of younger children holding their own. Hidden gem of a place! read more

The section for the little dogs is good but the other section for big dogs is a concern. My dog was in the small dog section but I saw a Great Dane attack a Lab and grab him by the collar and pull him down. I went to the park two days in a row and saw the same black and white spotted Great Dane do the same thing again. His owner was there and right on top of it but it was still disturbing to witness. Be careful if you have a big dog to bring to the dog park. The dusty gravel isn't so great, wish they had more grass and a water fountain for the dogs. All the small dogs were nice. read more

Review is for obstacle course only, not dog park. I heard from my friend about this place and so I took my kids aged 5 and 2. They had a blast climbing and jumping and running through the course. They definitely got sweaty playing and having fun. I like how they can't get dirty because it's a foam like rubber surface. Only downsides is that there isn't much shade so if it's not and sunny there is no escape from it. And no benches I don't think to sit down. read more

The dog park is all gravel, no grass, no shade, no tre so on a hot summer day it's too hot to stay long.

Awesome little dog park, with plenty of balls, water areas and trash pick up bags. I'll be bringing some to give back and donate. It's kept up well. Everyone that was there was nice. Bonus is it is near a regular park and my oldest walked over there with the two younger ones to play while we let the pup play. Definitely recommend, even for my Springfield dog owners. I wish it was closer but it's a great one that is worth the drive. read more

Monticello Park - First time checking out the dog park! - Dog Parks Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

This was the only dog park that I've been taking my dog to since we found out about it. I will not be taking my dog here after an incident that happened here yesterday. First off, yesterday my dog was attacked by another dog and let me just say that the people here are terrible. No one even bothered to ask if my dog was okay, despite the fact that he was screaming and bleeding. The owner of the dog was nowhere to be found. She was halfway across the park doing god knows what and she wasn't even aware that her dog had bitten mine. I'm all for dogs and a total animal lover, but if your dog is aggressive and can't get along with other dogs either big or small, PLEASE DON'T BRING THEM TO THE DOG PARK! It's as simple as that. read more

We love this park!!!! I have a happy, loving, energetic graydoodle! We visit a few times a week so he can burn some energy. This park is large and separate the large dogs from the small dogs. The owners are very friendly, and clean up after their pups. You definitely have your regulars! And they are awesome. My Zuko is always so excited and happy to play with his friends. He is exhausted once we get home. He also loves playing with water and getting dirty! read more

Not the best dog park. I have a smaller dog and there is only 1 bench and no shade at all in the smaller section. There is also one entrance for both small and larger dogs. There is only one water pump that is in the larger dog park area as well. read more
