I first learned of Monticello Real Estate when their office was located in our downtown Albany neighborhood - always a good sign. I've watched the firm grow and prosper over the years, and when the time came to list our historic brownstone, I knew we would be in good hands. I look at Real Estate listings the way some people read the sports pages, and Monticello has consistently impressed me with the use of technology in their presentation of homes. 1. In addition to standard online multiple listing services, they set up a custom website for their properties with the address of the home as the URL - in our case, 216Lancaster.com . 2. They have a team that takes outstanding listing photos - literally showing your home in the best light. 3. Beyond the photos, they develop a 3-D tour of the property, which can be viewed as a room-by-room walk through or a dollhouse view. 4. Exterior views are facilitated by drone photography, which is a highlight of the house tour video they create. When I first met with Alex Monticello, the business owner, I honestly thought these four items would be extras, options we could elect to pay for in addition to the seller's commission. I was pleasantly surprised that these were included in his standard contract. Alex provided valuable advice on de-cluttering our home and preparing for the photographers, and can even recommend someone to do staging if you need help. He was flexible with the listing price, carefully weighing the comparable properties in the area and mindful of supply and demand. Once the listing was live, Alex was respectful of our time and privacy, which was especially important as I work from home. Alexander Monticello helped us sell our Clifton Park home (The same one that we bought using Alexander Monticello in 2013). We have a lot of realtor friends (including Christian realtor friends), but our experience buying our house with Alex was so good that we opted to work with him again. I'm not going to lie, I had my reservations because Alex Monticello was not as popular as he is today when we bought our house in 2013, so I assumed he wouldn't give us the same degree of care, but I was incorrect. September 20, 2017 was the closing of the sale of the house in Clifton Park, NY my sister and I bought for our parents over 13 years ago, when our parents were still living. After they passed away we kept the property as a rental. When we decided to sell the property this year, I interviewed candidate real estate agents on the phone. Alexander Monticello seemed to be the right choice, and he proceeded to prove it. We asked him to visit the property and make recommendations to improve its sale-ability. He did and his information was pertinent and extremely helpful. For example, he noticed the circuit breaker panel in the basement was one that had been faulty enough to have led to a lawsuit against the manufacturer, and he said it would raise a red flag in front of any buyer's qualified home inspector. We had the circuit box replaced. Alex made several other recommendations and we followed each one. He revisited the property and listed it for sale. My husband and I had researched a few agents in the capital region to sell our 3 year old colonial home in Colonie. Alex came to our house for our first appointment during a big snow storm. Alex was well prepared with comps and eagerly answered every question my husband and I had. Our house was only on the market 3 weeks with one week we didn't really count because of the snow storms.
