Needed to get this work completed on my 1920's Spanish Bungalow for last year or so, this was my first time hiring a contractor. My home needed significant stucco patching, stucco cracking repair, window wood rot replacement, and window reframing due to termites. The more information I got from various stucco and window companies, the more complex and confusing the project seemed to get. I called Ray on a complete whim while driving, told him all my issues and he was out in a couple days to give me a bid. First of all, finding a contractor that was willing to take on all my needs was a challenge. Ray came over and said his team could manage everything I needed and gave me the best price I had seen. Upon scheduling, Rays team was on site for roughly 6 and a half days and they were cruising. I had quite a bit of anxiety leading into the project and wanted to ensure everything I wanted done, got done, and got done right the first time. Although possibly challenging for Ray (haha), he ensured me that I hired the right team and to trust the process. Rays lead guys Eric (carpenter) and Luis (painter) were both great hardworking dudes who addressed all of my concerns and they lead their team effectively. Ray suggested we paint match both garage doors on the structure I share with my neighbor (included in the bid). Overall we completely changed the color of our house and trim, we had some trim replacement waterproofing, one window reframed, front door paint, garage paint, and mid week we decided to expand the scoop of the project and add the entire fence perimeter in there. This turned out amazing and improved/completed the overall look of my house. For the price Ray gave me to add that in, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get it done on the spot. Thanks for that Ray. Overall, my wife and I are really excited about the facelift and repairs we got from Montgomery Paint. Not sure why it's taken me this long to write a review for Ray and Montgomery Paint Contracting, but, better late than never! The whole reason we decided to go with them is because of their great reputation here. We had interior paint and closet work done by Montgomery Paint Contracting back in April of 2024. Ray came over, gave us a comprehensive quote and a very flexible schedule as we were having new closet systems installed and needed Ray and his crew to be able to thread the scheduling needle. When the time came, Montgomery's demo crew came out and handled everything involved fast and professionally. Following them was the painting crew. Ray was very knowledgeable about what paint works best for our house and had everything necessary for the paint crews. The crew finished everything in great time and in a very professional manner. They were also able to address any additional small changes and request that we required. We sorely needed our home repainted and to have many areas of the stucco redone, so we used Yelps "Have a Project" feature. It was later in the evening on a Saturday, and within only a couple minutes Ray from Montgomery painting was sending us a message, asking how he could help. My wife and I were so pleased we chose Ray and his team to paint the exterior of our home. We got bids from three different paint contractors (all established companies with great reviews) Ray happened to be the cheapest although he did state he wasn't the cheapest paint company around but provided high quality professional work at a great price. I honestly wasn't looking for the cheapest paint company but Ray was the one person who came to the house and didn't feel like he was trying to sell his brand, he was just coming to give me a bid like I'd requested and he was super polite and had a calm spirit, overall he was just really easy to communicate with. His team/crew did some serious paint prepping on the house. They even helped me scrape some old sears tex-cote off the overhangs which is a huuuuge job (it looks like an exterior popcorn ceiling type of cover) and it's not something they typically do, but he offered to help me do it which I paid extra for obviously but I was so happy I wouldn't have to scrape it all off myself which I what I had already started doing. His team was extremely hard working, very detail oriented, tidy/clean with their gear at the end of the day, and everything just went really smooth overall. Communicating with Ray each day was a simple task, I'd text him and he'd text me right back. After all the prep work was done, they started painting our house and one thing that stood out to me was at the end of the first day of painting, I text Ray at about 6pm to make one change which was that I wanted to utilize a darker shade of the body color to paint the gable ends (the corners of the rood) (initially we were going to paint them the exact same color) and Ray's response was that he could make anything we wanted to do happen. The very next day the painters had the actual paint color I had asked about and we're already painting the Gable ends. That's a high level of customer service. Ray the Painter knocked on my door one afternoon out of the blue. I was cautious, and maybe even slightly annoyed. He explained that he was doing some stucco repairs and painting on my neighbor's house, and offered to give me a quote. Yea sure, why not? He spent maybe 25 minutes inspecting the exterior, and eventually came to me with a quote for stucco repair and painting, and then full stucco and painting. Stucco repair and painting were needed. He was not pulling my chain. I thanked him and told him I needed to speak to my partner before making any decisions. He was polite and respectful, and I sent him on his way. Honestly, I forgot he even existed until a super pushy Green Living salesperson chased me down one day to talk stucco repair and painting. After that encounter, I decided to review Ray's bid and check out his Yelp reviews. Once we decided to hire him, the rest was a breeze. He was very patient with us as we went back and forth on colors for the house, trim, etc. We also asked him to do a few other random things, all of which he did for a smile and a reasonable rate. He power washed on Saturday, did the stucco repair Monday, painted the house Tuesday, and did all of the trim work Wednesday. I sent a bid to several contractors, received​ responses from half. Ray was the first and most responsive of the bunch, thankfully. After demolition and rebuild of our patio, we needed some rather challenging touchups to the stucco, paint, ​and woodwork around the exterior​ of our house. So, on the day that Ray arrived, he patiently walked around the house with me following along as I described what we need. He was calm and considerate the whole time.
