I've been waiting for nearly 2 years to go here since they were closed for renovations on the rifle ranges. Not only were the rifle ranges renovated but the ENTIRE site was renovated! The renovations were built using quality materials (thick wood and steel) and are meant for long term use. Montgomery county outdid themselves with this project. Props to the team at MCSC for doing a fantastic job! The road leading to the range is freshly paved and very smooth. Some of the ranges I've been to have bumpy dirt roads to access the area. This place there's no need to worry about any of that. You could drive a mustang out there and not worry about it getting stuck or scratched. I talked with the folks in the office and they were very friendly and welcoming. Friday is the day to go if you want a more relaxed and quiet experience, since it's less busy that day. Saturday and Sundays are usually the more busier days, weather permitting. They do offer a lot in exchange for any volunteers that want to help out, free range time being one of them. I took some pictures on my phone and from a drone and you'll be able to see the scale of this place. No matter what kind of firearm you have, there's a place for you to have fun. The 400 yard rifle range will be open at the end of the month, as long as everything goes according to plan. All other ranges are open. For those of you that are wanting to shoot bows, I did notice an archery range. I didn't shoot at this visit, but I will be updating this review once I have the time to try out every exhibit. They closed the pistol and rifle ranges in 2021. Depending on who you talk to over the years, they would tell you they were closed for cleaning or repairs to the ATF was threatening to shut them down if they didn't raise the berms. I inquired a month ago August 2025 and they said they were still closed and they were not allowed to talk about it. I asked if they were ever going to reopen and said that the ranges have been closed since 2021. The ladies behind the counter became really upset and started to raise their voice saying they have only been down for three years and I was lying. I find it quite disturbing that the people of Montgomery county can't shoot there. But for the past several years the complex has been allowing people like the tactical rifleman from YouTube to hold events. Maybe people should boycott them all together. read more

Went to the archery range and all my arrows went strait through the targets and into the woods behind. Would do better with some hay backing and new/higher quality targets read more

The rifle and pistol ranges closed two-and-a-half years ago, Nov 30, 2021, supposedly for a lead reclamation project and maintenance. Every time I've called to ask about when the range will reopen I've been told "a couple more months" or "by next Spring" or "in the Fall" or "we are waiting on the blueprints" etc. Now they are saying the ranges will reopen around Halloween, 2024, THREE YEARS AFTER first closing the ranges. In the meantime, (as of October, 2023) NOTHING has been done to improve the ranges other than removing the target stands off of them. Also, although they post that the rifle ranges are closed, I've been at the range and have seen individuals using the 400 yard range. If the 400 yard range is open, why not publish that information? Why are only a select few allowed to use the range? It is a shame because the facility was one of the best complexes in the area until they closed the most popular ranges. This extended closure is an egregious case of neglect and mismanagement and utterly inexcusable. read more

Montgomery County Shooting Complex is a beautiful outdoor range just outside of Nashville. The woman in the front shop was so friendly and so helpful. I was a little hesitant to come in and feeling a little shy because I'm out of town. But she really made sure my party and I felt comfortable. Thank you so much - I had such a great experience here. Great range for cheaper price. Indoor ranges get pricy and this range had a lot of things indoors didn't offer. I'm not sure if it's still open but plan on coming back more once it does open back up. I could go here all day for the price of 1/3 of a indoor range. read more

Was at the Range recently, normally this would be a 5 star review, but the attitude I received from RSO's was so condescending and simply annoying that for the first time, I left the range feeling like I just didn't have any fun. I really have enjoyed my time shooting here when I visit. This wasn't one of those times. Some folks need to ease up on the Mall Ninja attitude, I didn't care for it. I came to put some lead into steel and paper, and left early. I'll come back in the winter, maybe cooler heads will be there. read more

Great setup for a variety of ranges at a cheap price compared to the ones in California. My husband especially loves the flat land with perfectly structured hills for each range. He was disappointed that the 400 m range is closed for the day after the Guy at the office said we were good for that. I was hoping to shoot some clay pigeons which the didn't sell any but we can bring our own for next time read more

This is the best range around Nashville, in my opinion. It's a bit of a drive from the city, but it's worth it to spend a day shooting at the various ranges that are available. The facility here is very nice and well maintained. The trap/skeet ranges are particularly nice. The employees and range officers are friendly and helpful. This range is as good as it gets!!. They have a pistol, 100 yard range and a long range that has targets at 200, 300 & 400 yards. The cost is only $5.50 for all day and the staff is excellent. Since they went under new management in October 2012, the place is clean, has new staff and all the trap, skeet and sporting clays work perfectly. I love this range! read more
