They work hard, are nice, and the service they provide is amazing. Go to a dump and see the difference. Nobody unloads your truck for you at a dump, here they do. Bring them water and sodas, they can't take tips, but at least deserve drinks. read more

One worker is on a huge power trip. Short young guy with a beard. Like getting pulled over by a cop. I also don't like how they arbitrarily make up whether you have a $5 or $10 load and take cash. Not many choices, so it is what it is. Montgomery County should be a little more disciplined with who they hire and the services they provide. We brought a small pickup loaded with material and were charged $15 to offload it. A few days later, we brought the same amount and were charged $20 to offload it. I complained and one of those who pretend to work there said the earlier load must have been lighter. When I said it wasn't, the same pretender said that they must have made a mistake. These people never give a receipt, unlike legitimate businesses, unless you ask for it. Wonder why? Also, the two white guys there weren't doing much of anything while the black fellow was doing all the work of offloading the trucks and other vehicles. read more

Hubby has a motto: "Never throw away that which can be recycled." Boy does he live by that, and so does everyone else here. We recycle everything. This has reduced our trash output tremendously, and it's also great for the environment. Hubby found this recycling center several years ago when our subdivision discontinued curbside recycling and it just pained him to throw away all that stuff that he knew could be recycled. Papers always went to the school recycling bins. But what do we do with all of that glass we're generating? You know, those empty beer and wine bottles that we mysteriously seem to manufacture? He thought he'd hit the jackpot when he located this recycling center: they took plastics (1 and 2 only, though), all glass, metal and tin. They have since expanded the materials that they do accept (check their website) and they accept all plastic recyclables now! Hubby is ecstatic! Most people don't even realize this location exists. If you're into recycling and are willing to separate your items and bring it to them, this is not far if you live on the north side of town. Saturday mornings are a great time to drop stuff off, and the workers there unload everything for you. We don't mind taking the extra effort to do this, as it IS reducing the amount that's going into the landfill, and once again, our subdivision voted down curbside recycling. **On a side note, this is stated as being a Montgomery County facility. We, however, do live in Harris County and have been going here for years. read more

Great experience. Just pulled up and they emptied all the plastic bags out of my car. We are extremely diligent about every plastic wrapper and bag that comes in our house now. I hate that they end up in the ocean. We collect all of it in the pantry and yesterday was the first time we took them to get recycled. It's definitely easier to just throw the stuff away because you can't put it in the recycling that gets picked up but my and my girls felt really good taking it to the center for recycling! read more

I give this place five stars. The people who meet you at your car when delivering recycle items are friendly; they get them out of the car; dispose of them for you and you drive on. I think their work is great. I have used thus place many times land I will continue to recommend them. read more

I utilized The Woodlands Recycling Center on Pruitt Rd this morning. Absolutely wonderful experience. Staff were friendly, helpful, and very efficient. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and never had to leave my vehicle. They did all the picking-up and removing my large and heavy old TV. Couldn't have been a better experience. Mr. Noack has done a wonderful job at this site and should be very proud of his efficient staff. Thank you Sir and I'm sure I will be making future use of your facilities. read more

Charges fees for recycling items that can be recycled elsewhere AT NO COST. Example: CFL bulbs can be recycled for free at Home Depot. Here they charge $1 PER BULB!! I thought I would help the environment and recycle my yard waste there, but the person who worked there said he would have to charge me $5 for one box of leaves & branches. I was flabbergasted. I check their website, which says NOTHING about fees on the main recycling page (apparently there's a separate fee page that is difficult to find), where it explains it's $5 PER CARLOAD. Might I have recycled there had I been prepared for this distinction (i.e. bring all my yard debris at once, rather than when it accumulates)? Maybe. But I don't think they deserve any of my money for ripping off taxpaying residents and diverting items that could be recycled/composted into the landfill with their ridiculous fee structure. Can't wait to leave the "green" Woodlands for an area that doesn't charge people for doing the right thing. read more

Wow, went here yesterday with a truck full of empty moving boxes. It's is such a great facility. I was shocked. Signage is very clear on how where to enter. I was treated by a few workers in vests, they have signs instructing to stay in car and let them unload for you. I pulled up under the shaded cover, 3 guys quickly emptied my car and I was on my way in a couple minutes. Could not have been smoother! read more

Not a bad place to recycle but the people who work here are simply lazy. There's two guys in particular. Ray and Justin they don't do anything. I volunteered there, court mandated, and went in with a positive attitude but their laziness was just horrible. They often said they weren't "lazy city worker but lazy county workers". They preach about not keeping anything but they definitely set things aside to take home. I think the people who volunteer do more work than the guys who get paid. If you think I'm mistaken, next time you go compare the guys in the vest to the guys wearing a blue shirt. Blue shirts are lazy, stealing employees. read more

We had a bunch of cardboard boxes that we needed to get rid of. When we pulled up to this recycling center the employees gathered around and pulled all the boxes out of our trunk and backseat with ease. Within two minutes we were on our way again. We thought the staff was friendly and efficient. No complaints or worries here. read more

I am amazed in this day and age with all the green montra.... and not to speak of higher taxes that services seem to be declining. I recently brought a dead tree that I cut down from my home in the Woodlands to the county recycle center. They would not take the tree unless I paid them $280.00. Well now I am green from the lack of air. I called a mulch company in Humble and they will charge me $80!!! They grind it up and sell it back to the county for who knows how much. That's why I work so hard to pay my taxes. But just remember, their from the government and are here to help us. Their help, I don't need!!!!! read more

jessica(2015),luis(2016) and wanda(2014) are speaking the consistent real truth about this place. workers are fine but the employees are mean & lazy- let the volunteers do all the work--they hate their "crappy job" quote from "manager" (red beard) and tell you so. they could give a --- about the environment or the mission.are they waste management contract trolls or are they there to serve the community? this free recycle event feb.22-saturday was a poorly-managed mess--a long line & they turned us away with a van full of items at 2 pm(close at 4)---attitude? too bad, so sad. they promised a service ,then couldn't handle it (poor prep: no limit on amounts so everyone could utilize the service). who planned this? & furthermore who ruled "no rainchecks" ?! obviously there is overwhelming demand---citizens want to do the right thing but don't have the money they demand--fees are punitive. our tax dollars "at work". vote noack out read more
