Above average decor with below average service. This…read moreCalifornia themed restaurant is uniquely decorated with great mold lighting and fun Knick knacks, it can surely transport you out of the usual Brisbane scene. However it won't take you all the way to America with its cuisine. Food options consists of variations of nachos, tacos, fajitas and enchiladas. I got the jalapeño poppers starters which I would say is their best item and comes with a great dipping sauce. The braised beef taco was a bit dry. The steak fajita was a bit small for two men but tasted good. A lot of fun drinks to choose from. Had the pomegranate margarita which was more of a cocktail than a marg but still tasted great. Service had a few issues. Originally booked online for an outdoor table and when I arrived I had told them that and was flippantly told there was no room outside. I added I specifically chose outdoor in the booking and server replied "they all book outdoor" and then was shown to an indoor table by the entrance instead. Which was a bit noisy and didn't have the ambience I had wanted for night. None of the servers wore masks even though there is still a mask mandate unsure why that is, they do get pretty close and handle the food. None of the kitchen staff or bartenders wore masks either. Service was on the slow side. Waited approx an hour before getting our started and another 15 min for the mains. Ambience outdoor is what caught my eye originally. Large outdoor seating area with lights on the tree and string of bulb lights that borders the whole area for a great mood setter. Indoor tables can get quite noisy with the acoustics and crowded with servers bustling by. All in all unique find. Decent food. Plenty of drink options. A few areas of concern with service.

They put this peri peri type orange seasoning on these crisp chips and it makes them really taste super delicious in your mouth. What I love about this place, is that it's fast food. They make your order fresh as you order it so the food hasn't been sitting there getting soggy and cold, bonus! I also love the fact that if you don't want the rice in your burrito, they will customise it to how you like it, for me, without the rice and more salsa salad. Another fact that no one really knows is that this place is owned by Boost Juice... it does give me a bit of a peace of mind when I know this because I feel everything is fresher for some reason. The standard Chicken or Beef Burrito will set you back $8-$9 and it will fill you up. They wrap it in foil so it keeps longer and the thing is wrapped to the brim with ingredients, you will definetely be full after. If you're looking for a snack, they have lots of types of tacos too. Definetely worth a mexican hit.

My work is only a short stroll from the office, but by the time I got back to my desk everything was soggy and the bag they came in had nearly torn open from the juices falling out (note I only had two taco's) They tasted great, I just wish there was a better way for Salsa's to serve their take away :)

I guess it has something to do with them doubling as a cafe. Well, I came here for a beer, and they had a pretty decent selection as well, and the service was quite good also. I had a difficult time deciding between the pulled pork tacos and the special, which was a smoked salmon with zucchini fritters, poached eggs, and creme fraiche. I also decided to calorie splurge and ordered the salted caramel milkshake (6.5), which was oh-so-delicious! It was smooth, not too milky, and not to sweet for a milkshake. I really enjoyed my breakfast, as the chunks of medium-well smoked salmon complemented the saltier zucchini fritters (they were a bit too salty). The poached eggs also balanced out the saltiness of the fritters, and the creme fraiche was surprisingly a tasteful addition. Overall, I was quite impressed with the food and the ambience of Shady Palms. It really does live up to its name, giving off a tropical, laid-back vibe. Most of the staff are friendly, though the girl at the counter that day was not, and they seem understaffed. The food took a while to come, and the staff seemed to be running around the whole time...

I'm not saying…read moreit's a bad idea, because it's not a bad idea, but it really messes with your mind, it made me question my place within the universe. The positives: the portion sizes are huge!! There's take away and a bar. If you don't like Mexican, you can have Indian, if you don't like Indian you can have Mexican, or like the Old El Paso ad: "porque no los dos" The negatives: the decor is loud and a bit strange, but I guess that's just Mexican-Indian fusion... The music is also annoying, it's loud and it's really just a lot of Shakira... On this visit I had the beef burrito, which is essentially your Mexican burrito filled with a beef curry and then covered in melted cheese. It's served with Indian rice and lentils. Nothing special, but edible and very tasty. Well proportioned amounts of sour cream and guacamole. The spinach and cheese naan is a favourite, it's cheesy and buttery and delicious. Indimex is an interesting addition to Stones Corner and something that I would probably bet on becoming a chain. It's something you probably need to try once so give it a go, it'll change you.

This place is exactly what it says, Indian and Mexican Food made to work together, complimenting each other and making for some seriously different breakfast dishes. I tried some of a few different menu items as we with a group, my favourite probably being the Enchiladas, full of flavor, crispy on the outside with a hint of curry in the pastry, gooey and flavourful on the inside. Service was outstanding, you couldnt ask for more friendly attentive staff making sure our needs were met and double checking that we were enjoying our food Now we all know I love my coffee, I wasnt sure what to expect. But it turns out Indimex have there own special blend roasted for them by Dancing Bean, a local company. Its a very mild roast, smooth to drink, which when your food has such strong flavours happening is a really good palate cleanser . Now, getting there ... street parking is available but is extremely limited. So go around to Cleveland Street and you will find parking in the shopping center complex that Indimex is out the front of, first 2 hours parking is free! Met some lovely people, ate some amazing food, definitely somewhere to go again!

I've definitely had GYG before but I have to fess up that I'm one that has stuck to the foods I know best such as their burrito bowls/burritos. Sadly I pass on the quesadillas & tacos as I don't believe in paying that much for the quantity you get (3 small tacos or quesadillas for $10++): especially if you've experienced way better for less elsewhere. But I ordered the grilled streak salad at GYG & it was great. When I first opened the takeaway container box I was a bit sad to see small little pieces of steak sprinkled around the salad, but when I started to eat it, it made sense that the steak pieces were that small as it was definitely more convenient to eat & enjoy as I could imagine how annoying it would be to cut through big chunks of steak. GYG is one of those places you have to take advantage of when accepting the freebies. I say this because my salad was quite boring before I added the extra jalapenos, cilantro, red onion & my choice of smokey chipotle tabasco sauce. If it weren't for the extras I wouldn't be as satisfied. The interior of GYG makes it a nice place to hang. There's a place to wash your hands as they know the food can get messy, they serve alcohol & the servers were attentive even though they were trying to survive lunch rush. I also liked their new value meal promo at the moment where you can get a mini burrito (still a decent portion), with a side of nachos, guac & a drink for $12.50. This is great since my salad was already $11.00 - if I ordered this $12.50 meal like my brother did, I know I would've happily abused the sauces & sides (freebies) section once again.
