He was up front about the vehicle's history; I've had to pry that out of dealerships before, so them being forthcoming about it before I ever asked was reassuring. The showroom area was clean and well maintained. Nice music on the overhead; not a bunch of rap crap. Our paperwork process was simple, and Kenneth was helpful and answered any questions we had. The sales manager was a nice man, and of course Tre, our salesman, was as kind as could be. I feel like we got a good deal here. I can recommend car shopping here. Long Lewis has been around for a long time, and they haven't stayed in business as long as they have by doing their customers wrong.

He made me feel welcome and handed me the key for the test drive. He was friendly, helpful, and professional. Heather helped me with the Mazda minivan, and I especially appreciated that I never felt pressured. She was honest, courteous, helpful, and patient. She offered us something to drink and asked if we were comfortable. I felt like her concern was what would be best for me and what would make me satisfied with my purchase. She explained the paperwork clearly and gave me time to read what I was signing. There was no rushing, no pushing, and no sales tricks at all. When many people think of car dealerships, they think of high-pressure sales tactics. That was not my experience at Pelham Imports. Dolores was also very helpful after the purchase. When the vehicle title was returned as undeliverable, she kept me informed, helped get the title sent to the dealership, and called me when it arrived so I could pick it up. My parents took their 2002 Chevy Silverado in to get the parking brake fixed and have the brakes…read morechecked. They quoted front and rear pads on top of the brake shoes for the parking brake. My parents told them to go ahead and fix it, once the truck was back it sat for about a month until i drove it. I knew the front rotors were warped before they took it in for service and I was a surprised to find out that the rotors were still warped, even after they supposedly did a brake job. I checked the invoice and realized that the tech quoted a pad slap (front and rear) and didn't recommend replacing or even resurfacing the rotors. I also checked the old brake pads and found that they still had 4 to 5 mm of material left and were not in immediate need of replacement. I was expecting to look at the invoice and see a proper brake job that at least included turning the rotors. As a technician myself I'm extremely disappointed in the service we received, i expected better service and communication.

I then took the car to Jack's Garage and let Sandy drive it down the road and back. He got out shaking his head and chuckling at the dealership's assessment. I didn't need a new transmission, just a new clutch. Jack's Garage did the repair for $1,200 in the same amount of time that the dealership took to run their "diagnostics" I paid $200 for. Now my car runs better than it has in a long time. I just wish I could have used the $200 I gave to Tameron and given it to Sandy's team to have them do the actual repair of the actual problem. Excellent service by trustworthy people - that's supposed to be the dealership, right? No, that's Jack's Garage.
